GoogleSerious Concerns About Discriminatory Conduct and Unprofessionalism.
I am writing to document the unacceptable treatment I received from agent Berlanty at Taker Estate Agent on 29/01/2026.
During a phone inquiry about renting a flat, I was subjected to rude and discriminatory questioning. The agent demanded my criminal records and made the process hostile and unwelcoming. This is a direct contravention of the Equality Act 2010, which prohibits discrimination in housing.
To be clear: I am a legitimate business professional who had offered to pay the entire tenancy upfront to facilitate the process. The agent's conduct was not only unprofessional but appeared to be based on prejudice.
I have formally complained to the agency's management and will be reporting this incident to the relevant authorities, including the local housing enforcement team and The Property Ombudsman, for investigation under UK rental law and anti-discrimination statutes.
Prospective tenants and landlords should be aware of these practices. I advise anyone considering this agency to proceed with extreme caution and to know their rights under the Tenant Fees Act 2019 and the Equality Act 2010.

GoogleAs a foreign student, I leased a flat from them, along with another student, for more than a year. During all this time, they provided to us an excellent and very professional service. There was always good communication with the team and willingness to help us solve any problem we could face (contract negotiation, term extension, water and electricity services, internet, council tax, repairs, etc.). I would definitely lease with them again. Widely recommended.

GoogleExtremely efficient, professional and friendly team. My sister and I spent 2 years under their tenancy and it was the first time to never have an issue with an agency. Every time there was a fault at home they were very fast in solving the problem, always available and responsive. We had a great experience working with Daker Estates and we strongly recommend it!

GoogleThis was where I rented for the first time with an agency. They were easy to communicate with, no strange policies, overall great to rent from, absolutely no problems whatsoever. All things considered, for the location and amount of bills included they had a great offer.
If you're looking to rent in this area I highly recommend you consider this agency since they are very easy to work with.

GoogleThe Daker Estates team was outstanding in my relocation to London.
In addition to the kindness and quick response in arranging accommodation, they were impeccable in arranging all necessary services (i.e. utilities) and prompt in solving any problems that arose.
Thank you very much!
