Chesterton's management division is extremely slow, lackluster in its approach, and inefficient to say the least. They simply want to collect their management fees, however, when it comes to servicing the client they respond when it suits them and often by different individuals within the firm that are not up to speed with the matter at hand.I have unpaid rent and they are doing very little to resolve the matter. Furthermore, they take an extremely long time to respond thereby causing a delay in resolving any issues that need to be addressed for my rent to be paid.They lack professionalism and are purely focused on revenue as opposed to servicing their clients. If you want peace of mind and smooth and efficient service as a landlord, choose another company.

GoogleFinding a short term rental process was fine. During my 6 weeks tenancy, we had a high number of viewings and rarely had a week where we did not have to accommodate viewings in. Upon our tenancy ending, we were advised if we use Chestertons recommended cleaning companies stating we would be guaranteed that no deductions would be made for cleaning. Otherwise, a cleaning deduction would be applied. The experience was horrendous with their partner cleaning company, West Park Cleaning. They caused damage to the property, stains that was not there before appeared and they removed items from the property leading to these missing items to be highlighted on the check out report. The cleaners arrived with a coffee cup in hand and lied about this. I opened the door to them and saw the main female was clutching a coffee cup. The stain that mysteriously appeared on the carpet after their “clean” is brown. The entire arrangement between their partner cleaning company and Chestertons feel very much like a scam. Of course the cleaners would deny they did anything wrong. We did not ask for the carpets to be steam cleaned, there was no reason to as they were in good condition. The cleaners were likely aggrieved they couldn’t make any more money from us they purposely dirtied the carpet.
Hi there, we're sorry to see you have left this rating and that your end of tenancy arrangements have caused you some frustration. We have asked our cleaning company West Park Cleaning for their comment on the below. They have categorically denied causing the staining and have advised that they are not aware of anything being removed from the apartment. Whilst on site, they were asked to steam clean carpets which was duly carried out. The cleaning company was not able to remove the marks on the carpet as the staining was permanent. Furthermore, they confirmed that coffee marks can be washed easily and these would have duly been removed with a carpet cleaning. It is likely that the brown staining is something permanent such as a tanning liquid or make up. We can see that the matter of the deposit is still outstanding. As such, please do let us know if you are happy to provide a counter offer so that the negotiations can continue with your landlord. As your tenancy is not an AST tenancy, we cannot refer the matter to the TDS for an independent adjudication and as such if an agreement cannot be reached then the matter will have to be referred to the small claims court. We can see that you are already in correspondence with the Property Management team in regards to this matter and as such would advise to continue negotiations with the landlord.
