A superb service from the Roath branch…

A superb service from the Roath branch from start to finish. Vicki Crean visited us for the first time in February to discuss listing our home with her branch. She was clearly extremely knowledgeable, passionate, and had a level of tenacity which we felt would be important in such a competitive field. And we weren’t wrong! Vicki and the expert team at the Roath branch delivered exactly what she set out to do on that initial February visit. Even before our listing was visible and before it was live on Rightmove, we had viewings booked in. Nothing like hitting the ground running! We were initially looking at the open day route to maximise interest, but the team generated so many viewings that an open day wasn’t required. We received two solid offers inside a week of going live, with one accepted. What the Roath branch achieved for us was nothing less than perfect. We really couldn’t fault anything. The team made selling our home of 17yrs hassle free and easy. We didn’t meet all the Roath team, but in addition to Vicki, we personally met Harrison and James too, both of whom were lovely. Vicki and the team are a credit to Allen & Harris and we hope the company knows that. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend the Roath branch and would say you’re in good hands if you also choose to tap into their expertise. Thank you again, Vicki, you were fantastic!

I went to Allan&Harris on Albany Road

I went to Allan&Harris on Albany Road, during my visit, Liam Tresilian made some racial comments to me that he clearly thought were humorous. He was laughing while delivering his inappropriate remarks, seemingly oblivious to the discomfort he caused. Instead of fostering a welcoming atmosphere, his comments only served to highlight the insensitivity that can sometimes be present in social interactions. This experience left me feeling deeply ashamed and very uncomfortable, as I couldn't help but question why such remarks were deemed acceptable in any context. It was disheartening to encounter such ignorance, especially in a setting where I expected to feel safe and respected. I believe that everyone deserves to be treated with dignity and kindness, and it was disappointing to witness such a lack of awareness regarding the impact of words.

Absolute clown show.

Absolute clown show. First of all, they told me to make the landlord 'an offer'. I made the offer and it was accepted. Went back and forth for a while asking for the paperwork so we could sign it off due to the move-in date being imminent. They kept fobbing me off and I got the impression they were buying time for some reason. It turned out I was right - the day before the move-in date, I got a call from them saying they had another party interested and they asked me to 'make a bid' to the landlord. I had already made an offer and it had been accepted, yet they wanted to start a bidding war less than 24 hours before I was meant to be moving in? This felt totally dishonest and exploitative - someone in a worse position would have been forced to choose between overpaying or being made homeless. Keron Boultif was repeatedly dishonest and evasive and had he even met the most basic expectations this all could have been avoided. I think Keron is a great example of why letting agents offer no value to society and need stricter regulating.

Stay Away - A&H ROATH BRANCH

**Review for Allen and Harris Estate Agents ROATH BRANCH:** NO STARS GIVEN, unfortunately, that option isn’t available! My experience with Allen and Harris Roath has been nothing short of a nightmare. They lost a sale on my property just three days after it was “sold”. After the third viewing, I was alarmed by Ring doorbell footage showing the buyer's hands covering the camera and the salesman Yupy suggesting a property £60,000 more that was renovated, despite having already knocked my price down by £10,000. Even stated the address of the other property. I immediately lodged a complaint, but Mel, who claimed to be a manager, was actually just admin and left me waiting for ID checks and that everything was fine. On a bank holiday Monday, I received a call from James, the valuer, informing me that the buyers had pulled out, without a courtesy call from the salesman, Yupy. I KNEW THIS WAS GOING TO HAPPEN. Additionally, my husband and I had troubling exchange with James via a WhatsApp group he created, where he insisted I couldn’t view MY own property and made rude, borderline racist comments regarding a potential buyer’s surname and how much they would offer. They seemed more focused on their fees than facilitating viewings, even trying to push their mortgage advisor on me when I had my own. Vicki Crean’s management skills are VERY questionable; she broke GDPR by sharing another customer’s name and address with me, claiming we were relatives. It’s outrageous that she disclosed this information without consent. Her request for my CCTV footage regarding unprofessional conduct outside my house was baffling. A different salesman made misleading claims about my kitchen, and they left lights on in my home while I was at work, wasting electricity. I had to chase feedback repeatedly, and around 8-9 bookings were made and then canceled, yet they still used those names in their records. I've sent a formal complaint to Connells and terminated my contract with Allen and Harris Roath due to their numerous breaches of professionalism. Thankfully, I’m now working with a relative in the industry who knows how to do the job right. I would never recommend Allen and Harris, particularly the Roath branch, to anyone. This experience has wasted months of my family's time. The only reason I chose them initially was that I purchased my house through them. I’ve noticed several other houses in “The Hawthorns” have switched to different estate agents, wonder why? Please, no customer service responses; my complaints have already been lodged with Connells, and I’ve taken legal advice. Fortunately for this review due to character limits, I can’t go fully into depth! Awful Awful Brach! Stay away!

Nightmare experience. Don’t use their Pontcanna branch

I strongly recommend that you don’t use Allan and Harris’s Pontcanna branch. Parents house was sold through them. They failed to set buyer expectations which caused us a lot of issues, they gave bad advice to things they should have been knowledgeable about and we later we found out that they lied about the buyers circumstances. 1) The buyers kept trying to go around A&H and made attempts to contact us directly. Upon telling A&H, they didn’t really care much about it or do anything about it as the buyers kept constantly trying to contact us directly to arrange everything even after we told them they need to go through A&H. 2) The buyers had very unreasonable expectations and A&H did nothing to keep them in check. They failed to get them to understand that they were part of a chain and them wanting the sale completed by a set date had to work for the whole chain or the sale would fall through. To be blunt, I don’t think they even tried. 3) We later found out that they were lying about the buyers circumstances. How do I know they were lying? Well because it was all things they would legally have had to know to complete the sale. Such as they claimed repeatedly that the buyers needed a mortgage and that the sale was held up by them not having signed their mortgage offer, but on the day of the move when we met the buyers in person they directly said they didn’t buy the property on a mortgage and never needed one. They also claimed the sellers owned a flat that was less than 2 minutes away from the property we were selling to them, but turns out that after meeting them that I already knew their land lord who confirmed to me that they were actually renting a house in Leckwith and he was aggressively pushing them out because he wanted out of the renting business. I don’t know why they would lie about this. They should have known all of these details and I’m pretty sure they have a legal responsibility to ensure they had the correct information. I can only assume they were saying these to try and get us to do something for them or the buyers like drop the price or look for another place to buy (irony being that we didn’t care who we sold the place to as long as they could pay). 4) The chain also almost fell apart because the buyers were the weakest ones on the chain. There was massive delays because they couldn’t get their finances (assumed mortgage or otherwise) together. A&H didn’t really care much about this. They didn’t do much to chase the buyer about setting a date or try and find out what was going on with finances. That was annoyingly left to us to do…. 5) On the day of the sale, the buyers turned up less than 30 minutes after the exchange time to try and kick my parents out. The contract specified that they were supposed to give us 6 hours to move out before they turned up. What the buyers did was illegal, because it was written down in the contract and they breached it. A&H were completely uninterested and basically told my parents that they had to get out there and then (something they should have known was wrong as they had a copy of the contract). The buyers did this because it turns out that they were going on holiday and wanted to leave early. Long story short a lot of my parents possessions got damaged or broken and we’re now considering legal action that A&H may get caught up in because they couldn’t do their job of setting seller expectations and knowing basic contract law (you’re and estate agent you should know all of this!). Houses have been selling themselves for the past 20+ years, unfortunately this has given us incompetent estate agents like A&H. I strongly recommend that you use anyone else and if you find a good estate agent be sure to recommend them to all your family and friends so they don’t end up with a rubbish one like Allan and Harris.

Lied from day 1

Rented us a property (which was extremely overpriced but had no choice as was about to become homeless) and said that the landlord was “the best landlord they’ve ever dealt with” Once moved in, the oven didn’t work, the entry phone didn’t work, the tv Ariel’s didn’t work, we had no key for our letter box so couldn’t get into it, the place stunk and was filthy. A cleaner was arranged (by the landlord) but I ended up driving the cleaner home and she couldn’t finish it all because she couldn’t reach and was about 80!! We were informed that a sky employee would be visiting the property to remove the previous tenants sky dish, but this would not affect us as he would just be outside taking it down. Then a random man showed up at our door trying to barge his way in, saying he worked for sky, as he wanted to check there was no evidence inside the property that the sky dish belonged to this address. Turns out, this was the landlord’s friend and he was trying to avoid paying the cost of having a dish removed, by saying it was the upstairs tenants dish. Alan and Harris kept avoiding us when we mentioned the oven, it took five months to get it sorted by which point we had had enough. It was only when one of their employees was on maternity leave that I saw her and she admitted that that particular landlord was the worst client they’d ever had and avoided everything completely. Yet they had told me he was the best to get Me to rent the property. Because of all of this stress, we gave up the property. I am now homeless, even though it’s been over a year, because every penny I had went into renting that property and trying to fix things ourselves. The fact Alan and Harris lied about this landlord is disgusting. Renting a property that has multiple features broken, that is dirty, and wanting an insane amount of money for it, whilst having a landlord who doesn’t care or do anything to help any situation, should be looked into. If I hadn’t have bumped into the staff member who admitted that he was awful, and that they were well aware how bad he was before I even viewed the property, then I wouldn’t have been so disgusted. I wasn’t going to write this review, but I finally had enough. Liars, deceitful people who will do anything to rent properties out and make themselves look good. Even if it means ruining someone’s life.. Avoid like the plague.

The worst letting agent ever

The worst letting agent ever. They cannot manage your property and are very rude and provide the worst customer service ever. Being with this letting agent has been a nightmare, instead of helping landlords the so called letting manager Tiffany was very rude and explains she’s not a mind reader. She would never answer calls, disregard emails and also accidentally replies to a chain of emails to her colleague but includes us to say how we are ridiculous. Tiffany is so unprofessional and the service provided was appalling. We will never be using this letting agent and recommend not to use unless you want your house to be destroyed and not to have any support from the lettings agent you put your trust in to manage and maintain your property and to have the most appalling service. Stay clear and actually get your moneys worth with another agent.

Read the Contract!

I employed this company to sell a house. After 6 months and no sensible offers, I terminated their contract. A few months later, I sold the house through another agent, who were brilliant. However it turned out that the eventual buyers had seen the house originally several months before through Allen and Harris. The next thing I knew was their high powered solicitors demanding full payment of their selling fees, which according to their contract I have to pay indefinitely after they have sown anyone the house. This is criminal and they should be ashamed of themselves putting a clause like that in a legal contract. So beware, read all the small print. Don't use Allen and Harris as they are absolutely useless.

Really poor experience with Allan &…

Really poor experience with Allan & Harris Roath. I had a house valuation booked, and because I’m away on business, a family member took half a day off work to attend. Just a few hours before the appointment, they cancelled by email with no phone call, no proper explanation, and no attempt to rearrange. Cancelling last minute is bad enough, but not even having the decency to call or acknowledge the inconvenience caused is unacceptable. It shows a complete lack of professionalism and zero respect for people’s time.

Allen and Harris

Allen and Harris, WhitchurchJust put my parents house on the market with Allen and Harris and not impressed with communication at all. An Open House was arranged but on the day of the Open house no communication with either myself or my brother)who lives in the house) so I was a bit concerned. I rang the office and was told one of their colleagues should have got in touch with me to say it had been pushed back two weeks. I had not received a phone call or message of any kind. I was then told it was rearranged for two weeks later, again no communication and nothing materialised.Early days but already thinking of finding someone else to sell the house.

60% 1-star reviews at the time of…

60% 1-star reviews at the time of writing, this should be the only red flag you need. Firstly, they mis-sold the tenancy, and assured certain facts that were conditional on my signing were true, that turned out not to be true. There is no way I would have signed the tenancy if they had not been misleading. When confronted, they made demands from me which were unreasonable, including ‘not to open the window’ of which there is only one in the apartment. Corey is especially corrupt, and the biggest scammer, stay clear as he will gaslight anyone and back track/say whatever he feels like to cover himself. Stay clear. Remember, 60% 1-star reviews. That is the majority of all reviews. Please don’t waste your time.

Excellent Service from Yupy, Roath Branch

I’m incredibly pleased with the service I received from Yupy Sarwar at Allen & Harris Estate Agents for our recent home purchase. The home buying process can be daunting, but Yupy was fantastic every step of the way. From finding potential properties to helping me negotiate an ideal contract, Yupy was always available and communicated how each part of the whole process would move forward. He also understood the housing market in our search area, which allowed us to get an incredible deal that exceeded our expectations.Yupy answered all my questions with in-depth explanations, ensuring I fully understood what I was doing and why it was necessary, going the extra mile and assisting me with obtaining numerous specialist reports on the condition of the property and ensuring that when access was required for these inspections to take place the property was accessible, even at short notice. His knowledge and experience, combined with his patient approach, made this otherwise stressful event a smooth and successful process. I highly recommend him to anyone.

We bought our first property with the help of Brogan and we couldn't recommend her enough. Brogan is a fantastic person who is completely empathetic and understanding toward your personal needs. She understands that the process of buying your first home can be so stressful. She is quick to respond and explain anything you don't understand. She walked us through the process and eventually managed to get us a suitable mortgage. She helped us to set our expectations around the property market in this difficult time and helped us secure our lovely home. Her communication was excellent, even responding when she wasn't in the office! She has even been in touch following the sale asking how we're getting on. Absolutely lovely person and hopefully will get to use her services again in the future!

I have bought my first home with my partner. We had spoken to other mortgage advisors and didn’t seem to get the ‘click’ and held off as we weren’t sure where to start. We came across a property which we liked and were introduced to Brogan MacKay in August 2020. We found a home which we absolutely loved and it was with Allen & Harris. It’s pretty scary buying your first home and having no guidance. Brogan was really professional and helped throughout the whole process. If we had any questions, Brogan was able to answer anything and everything. She was always in contact and still is. We moved into our home on the 7th December 2020 and absolutely delighted we chose Brogan to be our Mortgage Advisor and will continue to recommend her to our friends and family. We’d also seek her help in the future if we were ever to buy again. Thank you again Brogan & Allen and Harris team!

Poor communication

We previously used Allen and Harris to market our property and had a terrible experience. Today, we arranged to view a property marketed by them. I had reminder text messages confirming the viewing and when I arrived the owner said he accepted an offer 4 days ago and he was told Allen and Harris would inform anyone who had arranged to view - which they did not. Total waste of time and confirms my views.

We used Allan and Harris’ mortgage advisor service. The lovely Alanna Docherty helped us with honestly everything for buying our new house. She was amazing we could not fault her. She really went above and beyond and as for many people, all the things that come with buying the house can be very confusing but Alana explained everything so well and just made the whole process stress free to be honest. She always answered any messages or query’s quick and was always so friendly and polite. Her knowledge is great as well. We are so happy with the service provided and cannot recommend Alana enough. If you are looking for a mortgage advisor she is the one, we will be using her again for future housing things. Thanks so so much again Alana 😊

Incompetent. They assured me it was a good tenant

They assured me it was a good tenant. When I received the referencing it turned out she wasn't earning enough to pay the rent, had lied about her job and salary, had seven addresses in eight years. I only learned this three days before she was supposed to move in. I stopped the deal and decided to sell. Allen and Harris still want their fee. The demand is £300 more than on the contract. Total incompetence.

PAISLEY OFFICE What went wrong well everything did what I was promised never happened first time buyers didn't have a mortgage in place which I was told wouldn't happen!!!! The mortgage wasn't approved and they didn't have the decency to inform us unbelievable then because of the delay I had to fork out for another home report which had to be a special way never heard of it and the company they got gave it to another surveyor who weren't approved I mean you couldn't write this!!! Then another surveyor sent and he said he would have it sent the next day 23/9/25 and today 25/9/25 no call I've been in bed very ill all week and this helped to contributed it once again I had to call them to find it was done on Tuesday 😡I mean what does it take to inform your client you charge enough for no communication shocking I have sold more houses whilst they were children and never ever had anything like this happened before and always was kept in the loop so all in all I'm really disgusted with the service and would never use them again
