TrustpilotAspen Grange Stowmarket
I had a walk in last week at Aspen Grange Stowmarket to look into my options with buying a new property in 2025. I was greeted by Nikki in a warm and welcoming manner. When going through my options she was informative, professional and bubbly which made the whole process far more reassuring. The site appears as clean and calm, and the show homes are stunning. I look forward to returning in the New Year to take another look.

TrustpilotJosh over in the Elmswell site
Josh over in the Elmswell site, was extremely helpful. As we are first time buyers, he took the time to explain the whole process of what happens when purchasing a house. He managed to speak to us although we turned up without an appointment. And fitted us in at another site to view the home we were looking at. Josh went above and beyond in customer service, very open and honest about the process.

TrustpilotGeneral condition of the house was ok
General condition of the house was ok. Very poor after sales. Snags slow to be resolved. We have no heating in a couple of rooms and the on site plumber hasn’t turned up two weeks in a row to rectify their mistakes. Garden was a load of mud, and front garden has to be redone as it was so poorly landscapes with no weed membranes.

TrustpilotLuke, Thankyou!
Met Mr. Luke at Crest Nicholson at their site office in Whitehouse Park, Milton Keynes, and must to say that he has been the best we have spoken with in our house hunt journey. Considering we are a first time buyer, and we really needed the clarity of the end to end process with specific guidance on the critical check points in the house acquisition process, Mr. Luke ensured that we did understand each and every step in detail and we did get copy of the detailed notes and hand outs of everything we discussed during our meeting which is super helpful for future reference. Once again, many thanks for the support and we do deeply appreciate it. Best regards, Usman.

TrustpilotThe only thing premier is the price
Henley GateThe initial sales process was the best part, all the team worked well to ensure the process went smoothly and was fun. It was such a joy to get the keys and was exciting to go through the handover process. After that the fun quickly went.As with all new builds there were initial snags and most of these were rectified quickly, however as the new estate filled up the service deteriorated and communication pretty much stopped. I was asked to sign off the snag report with a promise that the last items would be sorted quickly, however, to date and several months later communication has now dropped away completely unless I call to get an update and the snags are still outstanding. The quality of the house is not as good as first thought, it’s the little things that break that add up to a large worry about how long the house will remain in good condition. We are not heavy handed and are as careful as we can be but items such as soft closing drawers have failed already and the build and the fittings have started to feel quite flimsy. I’ve only been here 6 months. For a ‘premium’ property only the price feels premium and as the issues keep being kicked down the road the wonderful feeling of buying a new build goes with them.

TrustpilotIf I could a rating of zero I would
So, a few weeks ago I left a review after my daughter and her partner had an awful experience. And, credit where credit is due, Crest Nicholson have pulled out all the stops since, and turned it around to be the exciting time it should always have been. They have listened, they have rectified and have put right the wrongs. They managed to put the smiles back on their faces, and my daughter and her partner now have a beautiful home. Thank you, for listening to customer feedback. It makes a big difference to know you’re being heard. Based upon this, my view has been changed. The team could not have worked harder to ensure the moving date remained on track. Writing this on behalf of daughter who is concerned that negativity now will impact completion date, which is only a week away. Misinformed by sales team; site visit a few weeks highlighted some issues - were reassured these would be sorted and on home demo visit would see the quality. Home demo visit yesterday - broken skirting boards, broken door frames, dirty carpets, gaps from floor - base of kitchen cupboards, spotlights not fitted snugly, chips in tiles.. items paid for not fitted. To say they left heartbroken is an understatement. This should be an exciting time for them. No reassurance this time it would be sorted, just redirected to make a complaint under the new homes quality code, which itself states the developers are expected to ensure snags are rectified prior to completion.

TrustpilotShoddy workmanship
Truly shocking company. If I could give a lower review I would.Purchased a new executive home. Numerous concerns raised most importantly left with a en-suite that was not functioning for over 2 months. Apparently they could not connect the correct pipe work to the shower fitting which lead to a shower that was either freezing cold or scalding hot. Had to live with the stench of a sewer treatment plant across the first floor as they had not fitted the shower trap correctly. Actually been accused of being untruthful and this was only rectified after I made a complaint.Their complaints process is not fit for purpose as it is managed locally with no organisational oversight. If you are buying please ensure you check every fixture and fitting prior to completion as post completion they are quite happy to leave you hanging let alone provide you with a house that has numerous basic faults which appear to fall through their signing off procedure and pass the house builders quality standards

TrustpilotChallenging start but top class end
So, a 5 star review with a poor start. bear with me though it ends well. The initial process of buying was good through viewing the home and starting the buying process with Anita. However, when moving towards completion, covenants became a problem. While I understand the legal process, it took over 6 weeks to negotiate a covenant consent with the purchase due an agreement over email but a flat refusal to put it in writing on crest headed paper. This was very strange behaviour and erroded trust during the buying process. It felt like someone was hesitant to put their name on something internally for fear of it coming back at them later. This could be solved with a set process for this. Luckily Anita (sales rep) was very on the ball and worked hard to understand all points and find a solution. She saved the sale there as I was more than happy to walk away.My main gripe with the home, I dont have the plans. I dont know where the pipes are buried in my garden, i dont know whats behind the walls or even where pipework or electrical lines run. I understand copyright but just watermark it with a unique number! Again, easily solved but no internal process to do so.If anyone knows any way to get this from them please let me know as i'd love to have them.Following completion; (the good bit)100% different experience, now I'm at potters grange which is looked after by Gemma, Adam and Craig. From the get go helpful, informative, friendly from the first day when handing over the keys. Following on from that a proactive approach to solving any snags (of which there werent too many), phone calls from Gemma & Adam to check in to see how things are going and check for any problems! Along with the unenviable task of booking in times for trades or anything else around the customers schedule. If you were to ask people to describe good customer service this would be it!Its not often that you see a team that can provide that while still actually getting everything done in the background to a high standard (which is compounded by Craigs perfectionist work ethic making things better than new).I'd recommend buying just because of the aftercare team, with the caveat of being sure to stand your ground during the early process before you get to them as there is less of a 'human' factor when dealing with the legal side of things. This changed my whole experience with buying a new build from Crest and of course the stars in this review.

TrustpilotUnfinished airing cupboard and plumbing issues
I would like to clarify that this is purely a review on quality of service and craftsmanship and customer care of Crest Nicholson. Firstly During a process of buying I have had a few unpleasant experiences such as missing fridge from the kitchen where it was at the time of signing a reserving form ( I had to post pone completion date and pay another month’s rent in the old place). It took about additional 3 weeks of email ping pong which was really stressful .Secondly the Crest legal team was taking their time with processing forms and had to be literally chased by my solicitor and the legal team. Fixing snags took a bit of time. The door of balcony was difficult to lock as you had to literally slam it . I have requested to have the door adjusted which had been completed by the snagging team however before they have simply tried to discourage me from requesting door adjustment. Twice some of floor boards had to be changed due to poor quality of craftsmanship( uneven bubbles making me trip over a few times). Also the room where air circulation system unit is placed has been left with holes in the plaster wall and tubes running free.If I had known what a stressful experience dealing with Crest Nicholson would be ,most I would have not put myself through buying a property with them.

I owe a house in Marlborough Wiltshire built by Crest Nicholson. Amazing property, especially I am impressed with practicality of design ( easy to maintain, clean) and also I must point out that it built in the way that all other houses integrated well into surrounding woodland areas, along alleys, playground it has nice cozy feel.Another thing to mention is quality appliances Bosch, quality sanitary ware.I am very impressed with quality and design, when every available space is used to create comfortable living. I am very happy with my purchase.

TrustpilotBe warned, this company is unscrupulous
This company is unbelievable. Their standard of building work is appalling, and they are very happy to not complete any snagging issues, but let the NHBC deal with complaints instead. The customer services are non existent, and never respond to any emails or calls. The secure car park entrance has been broken since May 2023, and there’s no sign it will get fixed. Cars broken into, bikes stolen. The entrance door is constantly breaking, which has allowed people in to steal property (all Christmas presents delivered by Amazon, stolen). The fob entry system is also broken, can’t even get into the property on the right floor, due to the broken system. Lift breaks down constantly, and not fixed for ages as it’s not an ‘emergency’. The quality of the fixtures and fittings are dreadful, and snagging issues are just ignored, until you have to fix them yourself. Several site managers have disappeared overnight, wonder why. The customer service team don’t care less about anything being rectified, at best we get a cut and paste load of rubbish email, that makes no sense. And now to add insult to injury, CN have had to install Illbrook membrane to our properties, after they failed to do so as per building regs. This has caused untold damage and disruption for homeowners, who have been complaining for 2 years about this issue (CN having denied it for 2 years). Their attitude stinks, they could not care less about the damage that properties which have had the work done are now experiencing shattered windows due to the work, CN refuse to acknowledge and just tell homeowners to fix it themselves. As we’ve all had to fix every snagging issue ourselves. We’ve given up bothering about feeling secure in our homes, it’s not worth being constantly ignored. We just accept the car park and apartment block is not safe and secure. Thanks Crest Nicholson - we paid a fortune for this place and the service charges each year. What a waste of money. The response by CN on Trustpilot is to try and get the review removed, so we have to prove we actually live in this dump. Don’t be fooled into thinking they will contact you. They won’t.

TrustpilotFalse Promises, Mislead and No Responsibility
As a young couple buying looking to buy our first home through shared ownership, we put our trust in Crest Nicholson only to be led on for 9 months and then cut off with little explanation. We were looking to buy a property via shared ownership at the Cringleford Heights site. In November 2023 after getting qualified we were invited to attend the sales office on site where we chose the plot we would like and were given a full explanation into the building process of the house. At this point we were told we couldn't reserve the house until the shared ownership scheme was set up but we were told "this house would be yours unless you chose to pull out"Between November and February we were invited to visit the Cringleford Height location multiple times to chose our Kitchen, bathroom and flooring, visit the show homes and complete Crest Nicholson's meet the builder process. We were even asked by the sales rep to sign the bedroom wall with out names and dates of visits. Still at this point we were not allowed to officially reserve the house and were advised the shared ownership scheme would be coming soon.Over the next few months we had to keep asking for updates but were continually told it was coming soon, but again we were invited to view the plot and see the progress inside the house. Finally at the end of June, we were asked to send our financial details to a third party as the scheme was about to be launched. At this point we believed we would be soon be starting the paperwork to purchase the home and had no communications from Crest that there was any risk of this not happening. At 6pm on Friday 2nd August we received a phone call from the sales rep at Cringleford Heights saying that due to a "planning issue" the third party providing the shared ownership has pulled out and our house was now being advertised for sale. This came as a complete shock to us as less than a month before hand, we had been sent a checklist to send over documents to start the process. We put in a formal complaint with Crest Nicholson to try and find out how this had happened and why we were made promises by the sales rep at Cringleford Heights that they could not keep. We then received a phone call from the Senior sales manager who listened to our complaints. We were told by the senior sales manager that this would be looked into as soon as possible both her and the sales rep "did not want this hanging over their heads".A month later we received our first formal response from the senior sales manager where they took no responsibility for the situation, failed to explain what the issues were and ignored many of our queries raised in our complaint. The very next morning the plot was showing as for sale on the Crest Nicholson website. We responded straight away outlining the points in Crests response that were not true and also highlighted the points in our complaint they had ignored. The senior sales manager responded saying we would received a response in up to 6 weeks time, which is longer than the complaints procedure outlined on the companies website. Our complaint was then escalated again to the Managing Director who once again dodged the majority of our queries and decided to answer a select few. While again not taken any responsibility for Crest not being able to fulfil the promises they had made to us, he also suggested the situation was "particularly emotive". At this point the the Managing director also confirmed they had spoken to the sales rep who conveniently said they had no recollection of making the promises to us that this would be our home unless we pulled out.We again pushed back asking for an actual explanation on the reason for the planning issue and also asked for Crest to take some responsibility and show some empathy towards us, once again the Managing Director failed to do this.On the final response we have received from Crest they still haven't told us what the planning issue was, nor have they taken any responsibility for the way the sales rep made us promises and mislead us through the 9 month period we were lead to believe this would be our home. The only offer we have had is for Crest to set up a meeting for us with a financial advisor. Crest are fully aware of our financial situation as we were looking to buy a shared ownership home and this was yet another slap in the face from them.To this day we are still unaware of the planning issue which led to the third party pulling out, yet they are continuing to sell homes at Cringleford Heights. The customer service we have received has been beyond poor and not only would we not recommend any buys a home from these developers, we strongly recommend you look elsewhere.
