Great and realiable

Joe and the team made the move in experience really straight forward. During our tenancy Joe and Hamptons have been really responsive with any maintenance issues that we have had.

A young stand out professional.

Businesses are only as good as their people. In Jacob Forster, Hampton's have a real asset. In the whole buying and selling process, he was the only person who delivered a quality service. From day one when he stayed late to show us our new cottage, to the day of exchange where he was still working to dot the i's, I cannot recommend this young man highly enough. In fact I would employ him personally - that's the best testimonial I can give. Ask for him by name 👍

Broken item never refunded

Rented via Hamptons until 2019, when we moved in the cleaning and repairing of the flat that we requested had not been done, there was broken glass and wood in the cupboard, doors were broken, oven was in no state to use, including no light. Requests for some things were ignored, we had to allow people in during our tenancy to paint walls, fix doors, remove rubbish, etc. which we were guaranteed would happen beforehand. At the end of our tenancy, even though we would prefer no access for viewings, we allowed these. The letting agent who attended broke an item of mine and, in front of the viewers, promised payment, however I am still waiting for the receipt of this payment over a year and a half later - it was a false promise to make herself look good and I had to replace my item at my own expense.

Don’t ever get locked into a tenancy by…

Don’t ever get locked into a tenancy by this lot with them backing you into a corner to not have a 6 month break clause within a lengthy contract! They’ll use every excuse under the sun to deter one being included into the contract. You’ll soon realise why one wasn’t offered. And unfortunately when your paying someone else’s mortgage and their getting their fee’s your then stuck renting a sub standard property and can’t get out those poor living conditions. You don’t know the sound pollution issues or other issues a property can have once your living that day in day out and paying for the pleasure. While they sleep in their beds comfortably. You purchase something online without experiencing its value and have a get out clause. Why a tenant has no right to leave a property that is not honest about from the start leaves me dumbfounded. Because that hell will affect your health for not only 6 months but for the rest of that tenancy without a 6 month clause. But they’ll make sure they have their clause. That if it suits the landlord to sell earlier than say a lengthy rental contract is up they’ll use that to their advantage and use the tenant to work around that knowing you want to leave. So they’ll let you leave if it suits them. And on their schedule only. After threatening you with scare tactics of hefty fines. There should be a law in place that all contracts have a 6 month break clause.

Excellent service from Hamptons

The service and communication from Hamptons is excellent. Leasing a property can be stressful, things can go wrong and tenants can be demanding! Our contact, Lucy Desborough, is terrific to work with. She is calm even when things are stressy, her professional tone is matched by her shrewd judgement.

Dishonest and Immoral

Avoid this letting agency if at all possible. This agency rented a property to me and my partner with a severe infestation. This occurred back in March-2020 a week before the national lockdown due to covid-19. We only found out after moving in since when we visited the house, it had people living on it and the signs of the infestation were hidden. In addition it's important to mention that the initial AST (tenancy agreement) that we refused and had to negotiate during months, had a clause that stated that *all* infestations were to be liable to the tenant. This implied that even if it's not caused by the tenant, any infestation would be their responsibility to fix/bear the costs. After moving in and despite multiple exchange of communications with this agency, the landlord and Hamptons tried to push us to accept fumigation treatments without offering to cover expenses for alternate accommodation. This meant that in essence we couldn't go anywhere since there was a lockdown. Imagine the stress that this caused during so many months of lockdown having to live with an infestation in the house but still paying full rent and being pressured to let the fumigation to occur or "face the consequences that the responsibility would be on the tenants for not leaving the property".When we wrote a formal complaint to Hamptons and their position was clear: they only work to defend the landlords interests which is their client and the offer of fumigation treatments without alternate accommodation is more than generous. This is not the case by UK law and although the responsibility is on the landlord to fix the problems, Hamptons knowingly that there was an infestation in the property still rented it again.Very dishonest people.

Hamptons Windsor - the worst type of Lettings Agent

Simply put, if you are renting in the Windsor area NEVER use Hamptons. Irresponsible, rude and careless. The worst type of lazy and substandard service imaginable. They could not have managed our 'expensive' rental property any more carelessly than they did. More than 120 maintenance emails with barely anything fixed.Even now, having moved out of the property, we have to chase constantly about our deposit. NEVER USE Hamptons Windsor if you want to have a stress free life! Useless, slapdash, irresponsible, charmless and reckless are the best words used to describe them. Disappointing, disappointing, disappointing.

Reliable, intelligent service

Hamptons have looked after my property for nearly 20 years: in that time the service has vastly improved and over the last ten years I have had excellent service. Issues are dealt with efficiently and the extra mile is readily gone to find alternative solutions if there is a problem. Reliable, courteous and helpful, swift to respond to queries, I have every confidence in my manager and she takes all the worry out of letting my property.

I had a great experience with Daniel Isaac and his colleagues at the Tower Bridge office. The entire process went unbelievably quickly and smoothly. They went out of their way to try to accommodate all of my requests and were always available when I had questions. I'd recommend them very highly!

A comedy of errors that ceased to be funny

This review is specific to the Marlow office. I wanted to pay a little more for what I hoped would be a good, respectful service. It was anything but. After £'000s lost due to a long list of negligence, and hearing similar stories (too late) from others in a similar position - I'm extremely pleased to have walked away from them. Every function is either outsourced or managed by different depts - so one hand doesn't know what the other is doing. Just in 2019, I can count up emails from 20 different people at Hamptons about the same property. It's therefore difficult for them to notice issues let alone resolve them, despite paying for a fully managed service. My tenants paid in 6 month blocks upfront, but each month they'd post letters saying it was overdue. They missed major issues during their property visits - including furniture being totally shredded, nicotine stains and carpet burns from smoking (non-smoking property), and negligence of the garden leading to whole sections dying. They were then negligent after the tenants left, and took so long to take any action (people starting things then going on holiday, not responding to emails, no updates) that I had to take matters into my own hands and bring in my own team to manage it all for me and get the property back onto the market. I don't know what reputation they're riding on, but it's definitely gone. They had many many chances to step up and do their job, but they failed at every step.
