We had an excellent experience with Sherry FitzGerald, and in particular with our estate agent, Janet Phillips. From the very beginning, Janet was professional, approachable and extremely efficient. She took the time to clearly explain the marketing process and all the fees and costs involved in selling our property, which meant we knew exactly what to expect. Her communication throughout the sale was excellent. She kept in regular contact with both us and the buyers and always returned calls promptly. We really appreciated Janet's professionalism and personal attention throughout the process and would have no hesitation in recommending her and Sherry FitzGerald.

A big thank you to Carole and Will (+ the wider team) on our recent sale and purchase. Niamh and I knew from the moment we stepped into our new home for the first viewing that it was for us. Carole was the agent on duty that day and set out clearly what we needed to do in order to purchase the house. That plan was put into place almost immediately and we didn't look back! As with everything, there were some bumps along the road but Carole and Will navigated them. The one thing that stood out for me was the level of communication, whether it was before, during or after the normal office hours, we weren't left waiting. We also benefited from the relationship that Carole and Will built with the sellers / buyers on the other side of the transaction as I this helped all parties get the information they needed. Best decision I ever made was choosing Will and the team at Sherry FitzGerald. Selling your home is one of the biggest decisions you’ll make, and picking the right estate agent is crucial. I’ve bought and sold properties eight times, and I have never experienced service like I did on this occasion. Our house sold for close to €1.3 million, so we were very careful about who we entrusted with the sale. After inviting several estate agents to view our home, Will and Carole immediately stood out as the right people for the job. From start to finish, I couldn’t praise Will enough. The main issue I’ve had with estate agents in the past is poor communication, but not this time. Will kept us updated constantly and was always at the end of the phone or an email. We were absolutely thrilled with the price achieved for our house and loved the transparency of the online offers platform. I recently sold in Knocklyon through Carole in Sherry Fitzgerald Templeogue. The sale involved a long chain which gave rise to many challenges through the process. Carole communicated well through the whole process and managed the ups and occasional downs through what was a very difficult multiparty sale with equanimity. I went with their mortgage broker…

I went with their mortgage broker service and they provided me at the end with the absoulote worst offer in the market making my pay more than 7K over 3 years. As my house was B3 BER and it was eligible for green mortgage and I pointed this out explicitly a couple of times. How incompetence can these people be, you literally have one single job as a mortgage broker is to provide the best offer for the home buyer ! Not to mention that their service was paid not like the other free brokers.

Big in size, small in spirit

We recently bought a new build in Longwood and, sadly, our experience with this agency was less than positive. While the initial viewing and early stages were good, issues later arose around advertised details (such as HTB) which, in our view, should have been known by experienced agents. We were only made aware of these problems months after going sale agreed, which caused significant stress. Despite the house being nearly ready, we did not receive the keys until 13 months after going sale agreed. Although much of this delay was due to the developer, communication from Sherry FitzGerald was so limited at times that we genuinely questioned whether they were still involved. What stood out most was how the sale was concluded. The keys were simply slipped through the letterbox, no phone call, no acknowledgment, not even an automated “congratulations.” We sent a brief final email which was never answered. When compared with the consistently positive experiences friends had with other agencies, this fell well short of expectations for a firm of Sherry FitzGerald’s size and reputation. After such a long and stressful process, it left a very sour taste. This experience was with Sherry FitzGerald Barry O’Flaherty, though from speaking with friends and forums/groups, similar issues appear to exist across different branches.

Horrible experience renting with them

Horrible experience renting with them. I visited the apartment that had faulty balcony door, which they said would be fixed before I move in. It was not fixed, the house was extremely dirty with food residue in the fridge, many light bulbs not working (they fixed it after a week). Right now, more than 2 weeks after moving in, the balcony door is still not fixed. I’ll never rent with them again.
