Our experience with JKT Property Management has been shocking. There are several structural issues with the property, which we only learned about once moved in. We have attempted numerous times for these issues to be sorted and for the landlords to fulfil their contractual obligations, to no avail. We have been left to try and rectify a mould issue within the walls and the landlords are yet to action a slug and pest ingress due to a hole/gap in the wall of the bathroom, despite having raised this issue nearly a month ago now and knowing that a vulnerable baby lives at the property. The landlords are clearly allowed to neglect their contractual obligations and issues raised are minimised as much as possible.

I am forced to give one star as there is no way to give zero stars. I was a loyal tenant for 5 years at the same property. I made improvements to the house all cleared by the landlord himself who was more than happy with the final results, so much so that when I moved out and the house was put up for sale they actually used my improvements as highlights in the sale description. This came at a cost to me of over two thousand pounds. Because it was a long term tenancy I had no problem with this. When I did eventually move out I was told the house was filthy and would be charged to clean the entire house. In actual fact a few pegs was left on the garden and a half bag of soil. When I pushed them they eventually repaid my deposit. I was on the process of renting another property with them, as explained I was in the previous property for five years without and incident from myself (I will say I asked them to repair a leaking bath at the beginning of the let which they never fixed resulting in a leak downstairs that stained the walls, they also tried to charge me for this. Going back to the next property as I mentioned , I was a long paying tenant with no rent arrears and did most of the repairs myself as they were not reliable. JKT still saw fit to ask for over SIX THOUSAND pounds in advanced rent before letting the property to me which had already been offered. I of course backed out to which their very unproffesional reply was to withhold my original holding deposit unpaid to start due diligence on my eligibility to rent, as mentioned I was successful and only then did they drop the 6k bombshell. I again pressed them and my deposit was returned, the whole team is cocky to say the least and have more than likely done this to other tenants. AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE is my advise, I’m more than sure some of not all if their positive reviews have been written by staff and friends. Whenever issues are proposed the staff I needed to speak to always seem be on holiday despite the fact I could actually hear the person in the background. This whole staff seem to have superiority complex and think they are more intelligent than most, well they met their match with me.

I was a tenant under management of JKT for a year & a half, and they were brilliant. Very responsive, helpful and kind when it came to house related queries. A few months after I moved out of that address, the staff helped reunite my parcel accidentally sent to my old address to my new one in another area of the country. Would recommend them to my friends!

Joke of a company, any excuse to take your money! Charging us for maintenance by using the excuse that blockages were caused by hair, when we had their own contractors confirm issue was limescale build up and not our fault. Couldn’t be bothered to come fix the seals on our children’s bedroom so told us to tape it, and then taken it out of our deposit when we moved out! They were fine with us the first couple of years then the minute you start reporting issues and making them actually maintain the property its a different story. £700 deposit paid and nearly the full lot claimed by them for bogus reasons - Avoid.

Constructive review: Me & my partner saw a property which we immediately fell in love with. We called JKT and they arranged a viewing that same day. It wasnt the most ideal situation as the viewing was with the maintenanc man, this wasn't important to us though, we viewed the property and thats all we needed. The maintenance man gave us application forms to complete as we left which was also great. My partner called JKT promptly and made them aware of our interest. We asked the usual questions and they were answered quickly and fairly. We informed JKT that we would be dropping our application forms off on the friday. (Following day after viewing) which they were impressed with. Come the Friday, i left work and headed straight to JKT with my partner, this is roughly a 7 mile drive but it was fine because we were really trying to get this property. We sat down with an estate agent at the JKT offices, the lovely lady went through our application forms and said they were both absolutely fine. We were informed that someone would be in contact on the Monday. Over the weekend me & my partner were confident we would be approved for the property, we had not flaws at all, we got a little head of ourselves and began looking at furniture, kitchen appliances & decor etc. We were really hoping for good results. The Monday came and it was a nervous wait. We called JKT to chase the outcome as we were been a little impatient. We called several times and they still hadnt heard anything from the Landlord. I called at 3 pm and i was informed that the landlord still hadnt come back to them, but promised i would receive the outcome before close of play. Almost 5 pm came and i had lost hope, until i received a phone call. The lovely lady cut straight to the point and informed me that it was bad news, we were gutted. The lovely lady told me it was because we were not 25, we are both 20. I asked how that is fair, both me and my partner have full time/permanent employment, are doing well for ourselves and are clearly independant. We had good references etc. We dont party like most 20 year olds. After that phone call i began to think, surely it is illegal to turn someone away due to age if they meet all requirements stated etc. After a bit of research i saw that under The federal Fair Housing Act of 1968 discrimination due to age is prohibited. This is like posting a job vacancy and stating that only females who are skinny and have amazing figures can receive the job. It is just not right. We felt we had our time wasted. The agency knew our age but never thought to tell us we wouldnt stand a chance. We wasted our time and got our hopes up just to be discriminated on. JKT are a good agency and im sure it wasnt their doing. They were responsive and helpful, i just feel we should have been made aware of the prior to travelling the distance, gathering references etc. When i queried why we not told this prior to going through the process, i was told, 'Sometimes these things are missed' which i thought was a little unprofessional...
