We are both first time buyers and when we went up to the new chimes bank estate we were greeted by Caroline who made us feel very welcome and at ease. Caroline explained the whole process and talked us through each stage.We then went on to reserve our property and Caroline was there to assist us with any questions every step of the way and nothing was to much trouble she kept in regular contact and if she didn't have the answers she would find out swiftly and get back in touch. We moved into our property on Willows…

We moved into our property on Willows park almost 18 months ago. We are still waiting for our drive to be topped with tarmac and have all of the rotten and broken wood replaced. We are also waiting for the road surface to be completed. We did leave a review last time and was contacted to say work would be carried out by the end of April. Well we are half way through May and we still haven't had our drive finished or the road even started. There is still lots of rubbish dumped at the top of our road. They make promises that never happen. Our house build is actual okay, we like the house and have only had minor issues, but we didnt expect to spend the best part of 200k and our driveway remain unfinished and the road looks like a building site at the entrance.

Wonderful Experience for First Time Buyers

My wife and I bought our first home with Gleeson, and the experience was fantastic. We met our sales manager John Carr in November, and thanks to him the whole process was smooth, well-communicated, and stress-free.We were advised our home would be ready between March and May, and John gave us weekly updates throughout the process until we got our keys at the end of April/start of May.John was brilliant at every point of the process, from helping us with the initial steps and stages of the purchase, to aiding us when choosing our extras, it was a pleasure to work with him and Gleeson. The Gleeson Team have been nothing but helpful

The Gleeson team have been nothing but helpful. Angie and Bethany helped us throughout our purchase, they were responsive on email and kept us up to date along the way. Angie was thorough with ensuring minor details were immaculate on last inspection and was attentive throughout the whole process.Danny the Site Manager has been great, couple of snags picked up on moving in which were minor but both Angie and Danny couldn’t stress enough that they would resolve them and the point of the Gleeson app is to report them to rectify. The snags were resolved 3 working days later. The worker that came to the house to resolve these was friendly and helpful. Nothing seems to be a trouble at the moment. We are looking forward to settling into our new home.

Our experience with gleeson

We moved into our gleeson home at the Petersmiths park development just over 2 months ago now, and the process from beginning to end was excellent. All of the staff involved were amazing and very helpful. Alex was very keen to help throughout the buying process and made sure we received weekly updates on our plot so that we could see where it was at by the end of each week. She did a great job at simplifying the process for us and making sure things went smoothly from gleesons end. During the house demo, her and rodd (site manager) were very eager to answer any queries we had and both kept notes on any issues we found with the home before moving in (in which there were very few). Any issues that were found, both Alex and Rodd ensured were fixed before we picked up our keys. They both committed to visiting a couple of times after we’d moved too, so that they could ensure we were still happy with the home and to check if we had any further issues. Overall, the experience we had at Petersmiths park was nothing short of excellent, and we would highly recommend it. All of the staff made sure that the purchase of mine & my partners first home was very special and memorable.

Smooth and pleasant experience

We just bought our new home and about to move in tomorrow and have had such a smooth and easy process from start to finish with Gleesons. In particular Tina Walker has made this so easy, kept us informed and helped us with any questions we had asap! She brought a fun aspect to the whole process and felt like she was genuinely excited with you. We have had quite a lucky situation as the house was already built and all upgrades already in, we viewed the house on the 3rd of march, mortgage approved with Meridian Mortgages (highly recommend it speeds up the process as they work well with Gleesons) by end of March, and a move in date of 26th of April! Rainsborough Park and Sharon

Our first home. We looked at a few 2beds in other developments and they were so small. The size of gleeson homes are so generous. It’s the only way we could get on the property ladder and we’re so thankful we didn’t have to completely compromise on space. We can’t thank Sharon enough. She went above and beyond in her role, taking time to chase the mortgage broker on our behalves. We didn’t have a smooth run up to the house being ready, there was a lot of background issues and stressors, however none of that was at the fault of Gleeson and Sharon was the one person we could count on to help us through that. She even helped us understand some of the legal jargon. I hope that everyone buying there first home has a Sharon to help them. :) Once we moved in there has been minimal issues and any small problems we had were repaired so quickly. We have just bought a new build home at the Rainsborough park site and we are very close to moving day ! We reserved our home back in February 2024 so this has been a very quick, easy and enjoyable experience for us. I can't thank Sharon and Tashana enough they have been amazing, very kind, helpful and a massive part in our home buying process. As first time buyers its very daunting buying your first home as they are so many questions and lets be honest most of the time you don't know what your doing! Although no question was a wrong question for Sharon and Tashana and they have been very supportive, explaining everything thoroughly and have done their best they can to accommodate our needs. Myself and my partner have been looking for our first home for a very long time we recently decided to buy a new build. We have visited a few sites across Leeds and Wakefield but the 2 bedroom home were too small or the sales advisors were too pushy until we stumbled across Rainsborough Park. Firstly other developers such as Keepmoat are too expensive for a two bed and the homes are too cramped. Although Gleeson offer affordable homes and you get more for you money saving up to 100k- Bargain! Ideal for first time buyers:). We fell in love in love with the Mayfield and when we found out that three homes were available to purchase we were so excited. We booked an appointment to look around the Cork and the other show homes so we could get a feel for it. When we arrived we were greeted by Tashana who was very understanding and kind and although the site dosn't have a show room for the mayfield Tashana booked us an appointment to look around one of the available plots (our home). Tashana emailed us after leaving the development which instantly put a smile on our faces as in the email it stated "lovely to meet you both". We instantly felt at home just after meeting one sales rep and the people on the estate were so smiley and waved as you drove in so you instantly get a homely feel. When we looked round the Mayfield we fell in love. The layout is beautiful and very different to most 2 bed semis. This home is very spacious and light and looks detached from the front. Me and my boyfriend decided to reserve instantly. The kitchen was already picked but Sharon picked the most beautiful style and something which anyone would love. We then met Sharon who was just as excited for us and was so helpful and explained everything thoroughly. I felt they weren't pushy at all and they were the best sales reps I have met. Through February - April Sharon has updated us weekly, we have been invited in for our options meeting and we have never been kept out the loop. The whole experience has been amazing, exciting and stress free thanks to Sharon and Tashana so i would 100% recommend buying a property at Rainsborough Park. Sharon and Tashana- Thankyou so much for such a positive experience - your a credit to Gleeson Homes and you can tell you put time, passion and hard work into your customers! We couldn't be happier. We already feel at home!

Efficient and Hellpful

Jodie from Gleesons was very helpful from start to finish with our sale. There was a slight hiccup booking our demo day but it was resolved and we were booked back in within the week. It was a very quick sale and she was available whenever we needed advise or to visit the site. We completed in less than 2 months using the solicitors and advisor recommended by Gleeson and had no issues with either service. The site manager has also been very helpful and is willing to listen to any concerns and resolve them where possible.

I can honestly say my wife and I have had such a good experience buying our first home from Gleeson. Before settling with Gleeson, we did a market survey which revealed they had the lowest priced houses in the area we wanted. It took just a couple of weeks to seal the deal and move in, and I have been impressed with the quality of the house and also it's large-sized garden space. We've been living in it for 2 months plus and have no complaints so far.Also, Megan, the sales executive in the sales office at Hillcrest Gardens has been really friendly, helpful and informative throughout, always responding to emails quickly. Everyone has gone above and beyond

This is going to be long: TLDR? Gleeson have been outstanding in our home purchase from start to finish.We reserved a Blessington on Calluna Grange, Cumbria, in July last year, after putting our house on the market in April.We had been determined to get into one of the Blessingtons on this estate since late March when we first saw the show home. We love the house design and we love the estate and it's location.Once we managed to get the offer on our house, we quickly moved on Plot 16, and had a great day with Emily and Joe choosing our options.Everything was going well, and we stayed in touch with Pauline (who had taken over from Emily) in the sales office, getting updates on build stages.Come September, and a couple of days before we were due to exchange contracts, our buyer lost her buyer, and our chain collapsed. We panicked a little, especially as we'd already paid over £2,000 in extras deposit (we went a bit mad on extras). However, Pauline was very reassuring, and said we'd have time to find another buyer.And we did find another buyer. By now, we were getting to the point where the completion date would be when the build actually completed, mid December, so that was saving us some money on storage etc. This was a good thing, as we had to accept a lower offer.Come the start of December, and a couple of days before exchange of contracts, and our buyer lost her buyer, and the chain collapsed.Yep, same thing all over again.Again, Pauline spoke to her supervisor (who I will appear later in this story), and they agreed to give us even more time to find another buyer. We especially appreciated this as the hose was now complete and ready for someone (hopefully us) to move in.So, January comes to an end, and we find another buyer. The process kicks off again.A week later, our buyer changes his mind... supposedly because the garage ceiling was too low!At this point, we switched to part-ex.This process turned out to be quite stressful as well, but largely down to the fact that my solicitor hadn't done this before, and there was some confusion about where funds would come from etc. It was also at this stage that Pauline's supervisor, Lauren, massively stepped up. I don't have enough space to say all the good things I need to say about Lauren. Without her, I have no doubt we wouldn't have got the the end of the process in one piece.So, finally, completion day arrives, and we get a call from Lauren, saying it's happened, all gone though, and she'd be waiting for us with the keys. This was 11AM, as we were driving up from Manchester, so this was a superb end to very stressful and long process.So, now we are in...Our initial impression of the house was entirely, and extremely, positive. And that hasn't changed.I'd seen new build snagging surveys on YouTube (each for them!), and was concerned... especially as Gleeson over the past couple of years, had a poor reputation amongst professional snaggers. So I hired one (one from YouTube in fact).They carried out an extremely thorough survey, and the worst thing they found was a chipped roof tile.Sure, they raised 71 snags, but I think they just wanted to make me feel I'd got my money's worth. When I came to log the snags with Gleeson, there were only 22 I was concerned about, and most of those were cosmetic, and easily addressed.Now, here's the incredible bit...Gleeson figured out I'd had a professional snagger, and asked me if I was willing to share the report, which I happily did. Rebecca (after sales person) and Shaun (contracts manager) then met up with me, we went through the report together, and THEY convinced ME to log more of the snags!I work in an service industry, and my company is always talking about 'customer centricity' and 'delivering delighters'. Way to go Gleeson!We still have a few snags outstanding... but the meeting was only yesterday, so that's to be expected. Even during the meeting, though, whilst Rebecca was talking to us Shaun (with permission) walked round sorted out about half a dozen before he left!I'm going to guess that internally, Gleeson have some kind of improvement drive going on. I've seen it in companies I've worked for. If that's the case, boy is it working! There is literally nothing more I could have asked from anyone in the process, and it's fair to say that every single person I've dealt with has gone way beyond my expectations.Because of the overall stress of dealing with solicitors, and dealing with house buyers, I don't think I'll ever move house again. But if I did, I would definitely try to find a Gleeson new build wherever I was going.

Beautiful property and welcoming staff

We visited the Model Walk development yesterday, it was a speculative visit as we are just seeing what is out there at the moment. Tina was wonderfully welcoming and took the time to show us round the show houses and talk to us about the best options for us considering our current selling situation. Tina was very knowledgeable and was very passionate about the properties and the development. The property we viewed was beautiful, we love that there is a dining room area and a utility room. Both are often neglected in modern builds. Unfortunately, the area isn’t where we see ourselves living but I wish we could pick up the development and put it some place else. Along with Tina too! We will be keeping a close eye on future Gleeson developments in the hope that they build in an area more to our liking.

Think very long and hard before buying

I posted a review before, and took it down at Gleeson’s request as they agreed to look into my insulation. That was three months ago and so far all they have done is drilled two sets of holes in my walls and taken a brick out to tell me there’s insulation there… we knew that. The problem is that the house is cold when the outside is near or below zero, and the boiler is up full all day. It’s 21 degrees at the thermostat and 17 on the sofa 10 feet away. The walls are cold and it’s minus 1 inside the back door. They have procrastinated now until the weather is improving, ignored thermal camera images, and refused to change trickle vents that - even when closed - let a howling gale blow through the house. They patronise me with banal ‘customer service’ excuses as if I’ve never owned or lived in a house before - meanwhile my gas bill is far higher than my previous badly insulated 1930s house. Add to this, the leaks, the cracks, the lack of drainage in the back garden that took months to fix, and the general poor fit and finish, and I can’t recommend them less I’m afraid. I can’t get a final response so I can’t escalate to the NHBC, either.
