I recently rented through Hackett Property and couldn't be happier with the experience. From start to finish, Abbey was absolutely brilliant. She went above and beyond to accommodate multiple viewing requests, both in-person and video tours, making the whole process incredibly smooth and stress-free, especially given how busy life can get. The apartment was in fantastic condition when I arrived, clean, well-presented, and exactly as promised. Communication throughout was excellent, always prompt, friendly, and professional.

Just completed on the sale of a property today which has been managed by Hackett for a number of years and they also handled the sale. They have been fantastic as Property Managers which I have been very grateful for living at a distance. Then they found me a great buyer and it has been seamless, not always an easy ask when selling a buy to let. Thank you Brendan and Sarah for such a personal and efficient service. Unprofessional and Rude Had a booking to view a property today had rang and confirmed the appointment before hand. I arrived on time waited outside. Rang the office after 8mins and was left on hold for 3mins. I rang back and was told the agent was on her way. Why was I not given a curtiscy to explain? The agent finally arrived after 20mins late. And from the start had a massive attitude like she was doing me a favour. When I informed her that I had confirmed the appointment and an apology would be in order. She then lied and said that she tried to confirm with me. Then had the audacity to tell me to check my phone, I did check my phone and there was no missed calls (as I suspected). I felt uncomfortable but continued with the viewing. This is a very shady unprofessional establishment. Would definitely not recommend unless you want you time wasted.

I can’t begin to express how badly I wish I started with Hackett property when I came to the uk. I’ve been assisted in every single inquiry I’ve made on time, and provided the highest quality service even when first inquiring. The biggest mistake I’ve made in the uk was that I didn’t use hacket in the first when I first came , I could’ve have saved so much time and been educated properly if I had started with them. I want to personally thank the Hackett team for all of their hard work with me, I know that I had a long list of questions and demands but that you for being always being patient, understanding, and always helpful. I want to also show my appreciation to Abbey, when I had stress with anything, she would always guide me and show me the correct way towards literally everything I had problems understanding, she made sure I did understand and she was patient which is more than I could’ve asked for ( if the earth had more people like Abbey and the Hackett team, then world peace would be achievable very easily . Best way to put it ) I promise that I will take good care of the place because it’s the least I can do after all your hard work. To Abbey, and the Hackett, thank you truly, I am very grateful for all your help and efforts with me. This was the smoothest move in process and company I’ve dealt with in my life. The staff at Hackett are really friendly and have always been trying to be accommodating to me to the best of their abilities which is very well appreciated. Special shout out to Abbey as she is an amazing person ! She’s very helpful, understanding and she truly wants what’s best for you, and wants you to be comfortable in your future home. She’s always responded to my questions even when they were not the brightest in a kind and timely manner. I would highly recommend renting from Hackett, or buying/selling. A great team, especially when you call instead of email them haha.

What truly stood out was her proactive approach, during one of our scheduled viewings, Abby went out of her way to show us an additional property that we hadn't initially booked to see. I lived here until recently (2026, Ground Floor). This accommodation was very quiet, private, and safe. I think it's especially well-suited for international visitors or students coming to the UK for the first time. The shared kitchen was never overcrowded or noisy, and the facilities were kept very clean. The property manager was very helpful with explanations, and their email responses were always clear and prompt. It stayed warm in the winter and didn't get too hot in the summer, so I highly recommend this place.

Rented an apartment for 2 years, next to Sunderland university. I would advise to beware, but they pretty much have a monopoly in the area. The apartment was well presented by the company but turned out to be a dump once I started living inside it. It took a whole month to properly clean the apartment after the previous renters, despite the company's promises that it would be handed over in a good condition. It took 7 months for the company to respond and actually repair the 12 malfunctioned/ broken items flagged through their platform, ranging from ripped carpets all the way to a flooding shower and shorting fuse box. At the end of my stay, after cleaning and fixing their entire apartment, ironically, I have been notified that 207 pounds will be held from my deposit for the professional cleaning charges which will incur after my leave. I have tried settling the dispute with DPS, but as I was unaware that I will yet again be scammed, I did not forsee the need to take pictures of every single nook and cranny at the beginning and end of my stay. DPS did intervene to lower the amount of money Hackett wished to claim, but unfortunately I still had to pay some. Concluding with some advice for future tenants, do not trust these scammers and take all precautions if needing to rent something from them.
