The Mildenhall branch I had rented my property thru for years lost or mislaid a contract for a period that I had to pay the Council Tax of some £400 for when it should have been the tenant they were paid the management fee for the period in question but even after calls to them over the months they have not paid me back it is appalling DO NOT USE THEM I was even told by a member of staff I am too busy to help!!!!

My experience with Abbotts Rental Agency was incredibly frustrating and disappointing. Not only did they fail to return our advance rent payment in a timely manner after vacating the home, but they also didn't support us in claiming it back from the landlady, resulting in a loss of our money. Additionally, they neglected to back up the deposit properly and unjustly deducted exorbitant amounts, citing unnecessary expenses such as £710 for cleaning and double payment for tap replacement. This lack of transparency and fair treatment is unacceptable, highlighting Abbotts Rental Agency's disregard for their customers' rights and financial well-being.Im including their communicationsI seriously won’t entertain these kinds of behaviours from an agency like Abbotts.I have left the property at February 28th and till now they are claiming the landlady haven’t responded to them.It’s so frustrating to experience such kind of poor professionalism from themI have lost almost £1800 pounds and in debts

TrustpilotAvoid! Lost the keys to our property
Avoid Abbotts Stowmarket! We purchased a property they marketed to discover they had lost the property keys! Still not resolved 3 weeks later despite promising to change the locks of the property. Apparently the whole team in Stowmarket has completely turned over so no one was there when the keys disappeared - I'm not surprised everyone left if this is how they handle business. They were 'kind enough' to let us try all of the 'lost keys' they have which are keys they've been given but have no idea what property they are for. After trying 100 (shocking!) of these 'lost keys' none of them were our property's keys but clearly it's a common occurrence for Abbotts to not keep track of what keys are for which property! Absolute shambles. Maybe one day we'll finally get our locks changed by them to be able to open our doors!!

GoogleWorst Experience and service from Abbotts- Me and my Partner are very unhappy with the service we have received from the Abbotts Stowmarket branch. We firstly enquired about a leasehold property in April. We were quick to get a response from one of the estate agents and were promptly offered a viewing. Before the viewing the Estate agent said to us the property was restricted to people with relations to the mid-Suffolk area. We were told this should be fine. Almost straight away we were given Torc24's number to call. Torc24 were very helpful and I can’t fault them. We completed our assessment and affordability checks and were accepted in principle for the mortgage. Granted it took us a while to gather all of the required paperwork for the mortgage. I sent Abbots updates regularly out of courtesy to show that we were still very much interested in the property. When we finally got our paper work together and approved we were given an appointment with a mortgage advisor from Torc24. Abbotts were quick to contact us after ignoring all of my emails in between. We had our meeting with our mortgage advisor who approved us for the mortgage and processed all of our information ready to submit to the Leander. My bank details were also taken ready to withdraw money for the Mortgage advisor cost, Insurance policies, and mortgage. I was also told to find a solicitor asap. Late the following day I received a call from Abbots to say we are not eligible for the property as we have no relation to Mid-Suffolk and there was nothing they could do other than apologise. We understand that these things happen when searching for/ buying a house but we should have been made aware of this before the viewing let alone submitting a mortgage. The whole process has been very unprofessional and a complete waste of time with Abbotts and we won’t be using them again and warning others not to go with them.

GoogleReally pleased with the attentiveness and support offered for first time buyers at this branch. Mortgage advice was also top notch and really cleared up a lot of uncertainties. In the end I found a house under a different estate agent so did not purchase one directly through Abbotts. However, the advice and service we received early on was invaluable. We will definitely keep this firm in mind if we ever need them in future. Branch Manager couldn't have been more welcoming :)

GoogleI dealt with Abbotts between March and August,2022, selling my house in Stowmarket and purchasing my present home in Gretna, Dumfriesshire, Scotland. Miss Macrow valued my house and, from the outset, I found her to be professional, knowledgeable and informative, and very pleasant in her approach. Having secured the option on my Gretna house I was keen to get the deal done, was impatient to move, and increasingly so when I felt it was taking a long time to complete. As a result, I was a very regular visitor to Abbotts and on every visit, Miss Macrow would calmly answer all my queries, make telephone calls if necessary explain everything and I would leave the office feeling relieved and reassured. In the event of her absence I found her two staff members to be polite and helpful on every occasion. Many of the delays in the process were created by persons who were not part of the Abbotts team. Looking back on the whole experience there is nothing at all that I could criticise and would say that Miss Macrow’s team of that time was a great credit to her and that she herself is a significant asset to Abbotts, Stowmarket.
