When I assumed responsibility for the sale of my late mother's bungalow in Alphington I approached a few estate agents and Chris Parkes made the best impression, representing a firm with a long-standing connection to the area, rather than being part of a national chain with, possibly, their 'corporate approach'. His assessment of the likely value and saleability of the property seemed soundly based - he used similar comparator properties to do this together with his assessment of the property situation and local environment. He also explained at what point in the process of dealing with my late mother's estate it would make sense to market the property. It soon became apparent that the market at that time for the type of property I was selling was 'slow' and Chris was happy to discuss my options for trying to achieve a sale, without pushing me to do anything I wasn't comfortable with. In the event it took 6 months to achieve the sale but at no time did I feel pressured to significantly drop the price to get a sale to allow the estate agent to pocket the commission and move on. I found Chris and his colleagues at the Fraser & Wheeler Cowick Street office to be friendly, professional helpful and efficient. The fact that I live 200+ miles from Exeter was never a problem as Chris and his colleagues were always available by phone or email exchange. They handled all of the viewings on my behalf - always contacting me in advance to check that a viewing could go ahead, which allowed me to inform neighbours keeping an eye on the property. I always received feedback following each viewing and it was apparent that Chris would maintain contact with any potential buyer who seemed interested. When the sale was agreed, Fraser & Wheeler liaised with the buyers on my behalf throughout the process leading to successful completion. I was kept informed throughout. I am happy to recommend Fraser & Wheeler based on the service I received as there is no aspect of this that I could fault.

Having used Fraser and Wheeler previously there was no question we wouldn't be using them again for the sale of our house this time round. Luckily they were also dealing with our onward purchase too which made things alot smoother being in a larger than normal chain. I honestly couldn't have asked for a better experience. They always listened to what I needed and kept me updated at every stage even when the news wasn't as positive as what we had hoped for. When we decided to put our house on the market, we had a few estate agents come round so we could get a feel of which one would work best for us and we were completely blown away by Fraser and Wheeler, Sam came in and explained exactly how it would all happen, he was informative and I could just tell that he knew exactly what he was talking about and they were the right estate agents for us. Fraser and Wheeler made selling our house incredibly straightforward, they kept us informed and always updated us throughout our selling and buying journey and were always very calm with my many many questions I threw at them!!! We initially dealt with Sam but also worked with Amy a lot who is just wonderful as all the whole team but as it was Sam and Amy that we worked with the most I can only praise those two up the most. I’ve just sold my property using Fraser and Wheeler. After meeting various estate agents for valuations these guys were by far the best and most personable, Chris came out to see the property and he was really friendly and seemed to know his stuff! The viewings were handled professionally and I was kept up to date regularly by phone. This was especially helpful for me as I wasn’t living in the property at the time. They were honest about what they thought we should do re price and didn’t push me into dropping the price. Selling our home with Fraser and Wheeler was great. Our property was well marketed by Sam and achieved asking price. Not being initially ready to move, F & W were great at managing our buyer's expectations until we had found our onward purchase. When our property chain ran into the usual solicitor delays and then our buyer's receiving some odd (and inaccurate) last minute advice from their conveyancer at Tozers, Rachel and Chris were instrumental in keeping the chain alive. We very nearly pulled out of the transaction due to the actions of our buyer but Rachel and Chris helped me maintain perspective and also went above and beyond keeping lines of communication between the chain open.
