We leased a family home through Antony Roberts for a year whilst our own place was gutted and refurbished. I have been in the property profession for circa 40 years, so I know how things should and shouldn’t be done, and I have to say that they really did do a good job. If and when things required attention, they had tradesmen on hand, often turning up on the same day to deal with issues reported and they were always quick, attentive and polite when we had cause to contact them. Property management in my view is a bit of a thankless task, but John Crane and his team deserve thanks for their efforts, and certainly I would recommend them to others looking for a reliable and trustworthy managing agent in the area.

I have sold two flats in St Margarets with Anthony Roberts, most recently in August 2023, and wouldn't hesitate to use them again and to recommend them. I wanted an agent that guaranteed proper grown ups would handle every aspect of my sale - from every phone call, to every the viewings, and every detail of the sale - and they more than delivered. No detail was too small and their advice led us to go to best and final offers on our flat - securing an offer over asking price in a really challenging market. Great experience buying our first home from Antony Roberts St Margarets, and a special mention to James, Russell and Catherine. Selling our house in Isleworth was a little more complicated than the average sale. My moving in date should have been an exciting day but instead, I was handed the keys to an uninhabitable flat. Knowing that they hadn’t even checked the flat when the previous tenant moved out just 3 days prior, the guys at the East Twickenham branch of Antony Roberts happily took my money and handed the keys over to me. I was shocked to discover that not only had the flat not been cleaned at all, but in addition to the broken floors and unlockable doors, the flat was in a bad state. When I informed the agent of my shock, I was made to feel like I was in the wrong and treated like a bad, annoying tenant. It took 11 days into my tenancy for everything to be put right. All the while, the agent kept reminding me (not in so many words) that they are doing me the favour of getting the flat fixed up. They accepted no responsibility and still expect to take a full month’s rent form me. Even when I took this further to senior management, they apologised that I felt the way I did (how patronising?), but again took no responsibility for the failings of the letting agent. They obviously sided with their team again, still expecting a full month’s rent despite the flat only being habitable for 2 thirds of the month. I’m very disappointed in the way senior management dealt with (or didn’t in this case) my grievances. A despicable company to engage with, I urge everybody to steer clear and go to a company where you will be treated with the respect you deserve as a paying customer whether you’re a tenant or a landlord.
