Had I Wanted a Project I Would Have Bought a Project

As I have been passing through complaint procedures this is my first opportunity to review Strutt and Parker. From ombudsman to court they had ample opportunity to mediate regarding their misstatements. Strutt and Parker were appalling, and my losses as an older woman are insurmountable. They were fortunate I could only afford small claims court, which they opposed wanting a full multitrack trial where the cost being so prohibitive could of left me bankrupt and homeless. Court procedures in a higher track, are robust and difficult for the litigant in person to navigate through. Although I performed weakly at the trial due to the stress and illness they caused me, my case was sound. I won the small action against this national company, the court ruling against them and in my favour. As only a small claim it was limited in the amount of award it could give but gave the maximum at that level. Called a saga by the court, Strutt and Parker claimed a substantial historic boundary feature was part of the property, but that was demolished after viewing. They claimed luxury when nothing worked, the drainage and plumbing, the heating, the fires, unbelievable in the north of England; all of which damaged my furniture, damaged everything; not a home, but squalor, and frozen. They knew and know well the vendor developer Stone Homes who they recommended. In court they claimed I was a knowledgable buyer, they with a 130 years experience in estate agency and me with my my life's investment in my only home.I won against them for their misstatement of the property, I won for the demolished historical artefact, I won against them on their disclaimer, which all meant I won against them on the ombudsman's result in their favour.Strutt and Parker should be reprinting all their UK sales particulars, their disclaimer didn't protect them in court for simple reasons. They should also look at how they engage with the ombudsman which in my experience cannot be trusted.They had the ability and chance to come out well but instead just show contempt for their home buying public.I had trusted Strutt and Parker, they abused that trust.

Dont rent from this company

Didn't want to give this so called brilliant estate agents a one star they do not deserve it after the way we have been treated the past 3 years we have been renting from them.My first point is you ring the office for some help if there is a problems and you get told they will give you a ring back but you wait and wait and still no call back.We had a problem with the flooring in our kitchen and got told they would sort it when someone finally came out to have a look he was very surprised and said it was asbestos in the kitchen flooring when they finally decided to address this issue and get new flooring it was 9 months later walking on asbestos in my kitchen.We also asked to get someone to have a look at the bathroom due to there being thick black mould accumulating on our bathroom ceiling when we asked about this we where told to wipe it with bleach and water NOT ACCEPTABLE.And to top of this matter we are now being evicted after being there 3 years but have also heard that we are not the only people this has happened to due to 3 other families have been evicted aswell from these houses they are renting to peopleABSOLUTELY DISGUSTINGhow this company is still running I will never know no respect for tenants atall

In competent sales staff

This salesman was either totally inexperienced, incompetent or did not want our property on their books. Strutt and Parker had valued our property for £250K less than 3 other estate agents. How could you trust this company. To add, the attitude of said salesperson left a lot to be desired. Further more we were approached by Strutt and Parker stating that they had buyers who had missed out on a sales and were waiting to buy our property like ours, which is clearly untrue as when questioned there were none.

As a tenant, I would never recommend doing business…

I would never recommend doing business with this company, Strutt & Parker, and its employees. They encourage property owners to evict tenants without any valid reason. There is no UK law that would protect you and your family from being treated as commodities. :-(

Classic estate agent, do the bare minimum

Classic estate agent, do as little for you as possible. Referencing took over a month just to find simple things like landlord references even when we had given the details multiple times. Response time always very slow throughout and tried to charge us extra at the end of our tenancy (technical error was their excuse). Overall, they weren't bad but had very little to do with our rental & only ever wound me up when having to deal with them.

By far the worst experience I have ever had.Ever since day one Meena from the fullham office has been extremely unhelpful, extremely slow with responding and not only that she gave me loads of drama by making me move in to a apartment were half of the things are broken.Now it has been about a month and I have complained so many times about all the things that have not been working and yet... they don’t give a damn. My dryer the kitchen fan the water pressure the fire place the light in the living room etc. There have been two electricians and plumber guys in my flat and neither of them fixed a damn thing but they did agree that they could have not let me move in to a place that’s half falling apart.I so regret my decision to rent from them.

Absolutely terrible so called rental agents! Viewed a property to rent was expecting a follow up call (never happened) when I inquired as to the status of the rental and how to proceed was then told ' sorry we are not taking anymore enquiries on the rental' And don't bother calling them as they never answer or return your calls! Thanks for wasting my time I definitely won't enquire about any property up with yourselves and will make sure friends etc don't neither.

S&P did no marketing for us

S&P did no marketing for us, and the team was defensive when we tried to make suggestions as to how to sell best (having had to handle several viewings ourselves at weekends- quite why estate agents don't work at the time when viewers are available remains a mystery to me!). I am sure they are fine selling conventional properties to wealthy buyers, but they didn't seem to have the audience for our mid-market character property. They didn't do anything to generate interest. It was not a happy or successful relationship, so we have moved on.

Had a viewing of a property yesterday with Annabel. From the moment she opened the door to welcome us to 45 minutes later when she said goodbye we could not have been more impressed. She was utterly friendly, professional, knowledgeable, honest and truthful. Although this house is unlikely to be the home we buy due to location, although beautiful, we could not have asked for a better agent to show us around. I worked in the property industry for 20 years, owning my own agency for 15 of them and I would have loved this lady to have worked for me.
