I was very impressed with the service at London Bridge Dexters. I had the privilege of working with the sales agent, Ethan. He is an absolutely phenomenal employee. He was very knowledgeable of the properties, showed guenuine concern for my needs, and had a keen attitude. I could not be more pleased with the service he rendered! Definitely one of the best estate agencies I have had the pleasure to negotiate with. I would highly recommend London Bridge Dexters to my friends.

Renting out a flat for many years

I rented my flat in SE London, for many years, with Myra Mettam, being my contact at the estate agents. She was just right for the job. She always understood my needs and ensured that my tenants were well looked after and happy. She was always responsive to any problems that arose and would sort it out to everyone's satisfaction. I would definitely recommend her to others.

End of tenancy nightmare

As a tenant, Dexters were largely fine as a management agency - issues were (mostly) sorted relatively quickly, although there were a couple of occasions where we reported an issue, someone came to have a look, said they needed to order a part, and no follow up ever came. Trying to get through to someone was often quite painful as you get bounced from department to department. The low rating comes from their behaviour after we gave notice to end the tenancy. The flat was advertised for about six weeks and we had constant requests for viewing over that period, often with less than an hour's notice. We asked repeatedly for more notice for viewings (and we were extremely flexible so this wasn't a case of us offering 30 mins' availability per week). They seemed to interpret this as 'give the same short notice but apologise for it being short notice'. When one of us said we couldn't accommodate a particular time, they'd try calling the other tenant. They turned up when we'd said we couldn't accommodate a viewing at such short notice. The concept of making block viewing bookings didn't seem to occur to them - when we suggested this via email it was ignored. They also turned up late on several occasions for agreed viewings and gave garbled excuses - if they'd have just given us a heads up that someone was running late it would have been fine, but they genuinely seemed to expect us to slot them in at their leisure. On several occasions after viewings the agent left every single light on in the flat (including for viewings in broad daylight) - no thought for our electricity bills.

The house sale process was made easy throughout, the advice was clear and communication at each stage was very good with regular updates on progress. We were kept updated as to who would be viewing the house and when. All the people I dealt with were helpful and personable. My only other comment is that different people were the contact point at different times which was a function of the holiday period which I understand but not ideal.

Troubles managed with patience

In my personal experience, I had some problems finding the person to share the apartment I wanted with, thus there have been various changes in the second tenant for the apartment, but all of them have been handled real-time and most importantly with patience and professionally by my agent Nadia that was managing the deal. Also all details of the property have been explained clearly and multiple times.

review for the New Homes Team in London

This is a review for the New Homes Team in London and to the sales agent Jake Turner, this person will say all the right things before the sale and once that is complete doesn't actually delivery on the promises.sold me a NEW property with many defects ie broken tile, broken bed legs, broken chest drawers, toilet that has plumbing issues, bath tub with scratches and chips, missing complete set of keys, also with electricity that is -£40 in arrears so when i moved in it had no power. just inspects every detail and part of the house closely, test everything and make sure its all fixed before completion.

Our move-in day was shambolic

Dexters Battersea told me two weeks before my move-in day that I could get the keys from 8am. After hearing nothing more, my fellow tenants followed up the night before at which point Dexters moved key collection to 1.30pm. Then, at 11am on move-in day itself, they delayed it to 4.30pm. By this point I had already started moving out of my previous house and had to return those keys, so had nowhere to go the whole day. I had to spend £20 on parking fees in the interim, which Dexters refused to refund. It ruined my family's plans too - they travelled four hours to help me move in the morning. The cause of the delay was Dexters not arranging for essential works to be done until 2am the night before, and Dexters not arranging a professional clean and inspection until the move-in day itself. Dexters did not accept responsibility and refused to refund the parking fees or provide compensation. A disappointing experience that caused much unnecessary stress. Ironic given they asked me to write a five-star review after we agreed the offer.

Excellent service!

We ran into a weird problem with the sunroof at the property we are renting. Poppy, our property manager, followed up on this for us many times, most of the time without us asking for an update. She kept the communication very tight on this, giving us constant updates. As a renter who reported an issue, seeing the follow ups and the communication on the issue we raised is almost as important as getting the issue itself fixed. And we appreciate Poppy for all she did for us!

Avoid Dexters Cricklewood

This is a review for the Cricklewood branch in London. We are finally out of the property and since they will not return my deposit I have no issues to say what I had to keep for myself since the beginning.First of all their credit check company it's a failure, get ready to send 3000 emails that the will never see.The agent that showed us the property said all the walls and carpets will be repainted and cleaned or replaced, nothing of that happened. And of course he asked for 5 star review of his "job".When we tried to renew the contract took us more than 2 months to fight with the credit check company again, with them saying that we never filled up any paper. And we send proof and screenshots that all was fine and done in time. They probably make us fail the check to relist the house at £500+ more than what we pay since the prices are increasing in the area.At the moment, after 3/4 weeks that we left the property I'm still waiting for an inventory check that they told me will come after a few days. I have NO hope to see my deposit back, and they are not helping us in any way even if they are cc'd in the email that we are exchanging with the owner of the property.AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COSTS DO NOT GIVE YOUR MONEY TO THEM. DO NOT TRUST THEM, THEY WILL BE ALL HELPFUL IF YOU VISIT THEM AT THE OFFICE BUT THE MOMENT YOU LEAVE THEY WILL NOT CARE ABOUT YOUR ISSUES.If I could I would give 0 stars

We have bought and sold a number of properties over the last 30 plus years with differing experiences. None of these have been particularly positive. We hired Dexter’s in London Bridge in April 2024 as they seemed to come across from the outset as if they genuinely seemed to know what they were doing. Being at the top of the chain in central London with no property to buy, the process should have been relatively straightforward. After some initial viewings we received an offer within the first few days although we had noted the complete lack of agent knowledge during the viewing process as we heard the answers provided to viewers over our Ring security cameras. An example: viewer asked how old our 1920’s property was. Answer…late 1960’s, and so on. Basic stuff and quite astonishing ! I negotiated the offer with the agent who seemed to think a significantly lower price to the one we had set might have been acceptable. Having made it clear it was not, we accepted pretty much what we were asking for in the first place. I should not have needed to have held that conversation. As is the way in England & Wales a buyer can pull out of the process at any time leading up to exchange. Needless to say that after 6 weeks of engaging with solicitors and getting everything ready, our buyers pulled out of the sale with no reason given. We believe they couldn’t get their mortgage agreed and had not been vetted properly by Dexters. They didn’t agree of course. We accepted another offer 2 weeks later, in June. The buyers had their leasehold property under offer. The next few months were painful to say the least. Our solicitors did all the work and were extremely responsive, going above and beyond chasing the buyers solicitors who in turn chased at the bottom of the chain. The leasehold nature of our buyers property made things needlessly complicated with their buyers solicitors taking an eternity to get anything done. This was not helped by the shockingly poor leasehold management company being involved, L&Q. Our buyers were as equally frustrated as we were, having got everything into place on their side and wanted to be in no later than September as they was expecting their first baby that month. Notwithstanding this, throughout the whole process we were never kept updated by Dexters. We constantly had to chase them and they seemed to have entirely forgotten that we were their clients. Out fixed rate mortgage deal expired during this process resulting in significant additional mortgage cost plus paying double fees to our solicitors due to the first sale falling through. The silence from Dexter’s was appalling. It is high time estate agents were required to be both professionally qualified and licensed. It seemed to us that paying the estate agents (for doing very little) more than 3 times the amount of our solicitors not only grossly unfair but inequitable and nonsensical ! Our solicitor did all the work, the agents didn’t appear to give a damn. After more than 6 months from the time our property went on the market, we finally completed in early October and we hope our buyers have recovered from an unnecessarily convoluted and stressful experience. So much for a “straightforward process”. Dexters “client service” was singularly absent. We would not recommend them to anyone.

The Maintenance Team are professional, efficient and helpful (Tenant)

I have dealt with a few members of the Dexters property maintenance team (as a tenant) and they have been excellent. I have found them to be always prompt and professional. Most recently Chloe assisted me with the replacement of a toilet. She understood the problem and took ownership of it. Chloe resolved the issue promptly and I'm really grateful to her for going above and beyond to help. I would recommend their services.

My experience with Dexters has been a complete disaster

I’m not usually someone to go online to share my dissatisfaction of a company with the rest of the world, but this particular experience called for an exemption. My experience with Dexters as a letting agent has been nothing short of a disaster that would make for great comedy but not for a good recommendation, so I thought I’d warn people about how these guys operate. Firstly, I don’t know how their screening process for hiring letting agents works, but many of the people I’ve encountered are either blatantly rude or completely unqualified for the job, and seemingly often a combination of both. Besides the fact that they hang up on you before you’ve even said goodbye to them on the phone, this particular experience I had with them was beyond anything I’ve encountered anywhere in the rental market. And to be completely fair, landlords in the UK are not exactly regarded particularly highly when it comes to whether people trust them. So, what happened?I was called up due to a studio I had previously enquired about coming back onto the market. I go there on the day of the viewing, am in good time (10 mins before) and wait. And wait. 15 mins after our scheduled viewing I call Dexters. They put me on hold and nothing happens. I call again and then get called up, saying that the agent will be there in 5 mins. I wait a further 10 mins and he calls me, apologising blaming it on traffic congestion and saying he’ll be there in 5 mins. When he finally does arrive, we go up to the studio and he realises he’s got the wrong key. He knocks on the door, but the current resident is not in and nobody opens the door. He calls his manager and it appears neither of them really know what’s going on and there’s clearly been some fundamental miscommunication. At this point the neighbour from the opposite side of the building comes out, talking about how the landlord in her flat hasn’t sorted out a major leakage in their roof, that it has been outstanding for a while and they are getting evicted because of it. Great, was this going to affect my potential new home that I wasn’t even able to view despite having travelled an hour to get there and then waiting a further 30 mins for the agent? She goes on to say that she’s had a concussion recently and was just released from the hospital, and I make her aware that her bag is wide open and things can fall out if she’s not careful. Poor woman. The agent apologises, we leave the premises and he tells me his manager will call to arrange a new viewing. At this point I’m honestly not really sure that’s something I’m even interested in, and just as I'm certain things can't get any worse something else happens. Just as we say goodbye two women start shouting at the agent. Turns out he’s parked his Dexter’s car in the middle of the road. “Are you taking the p*** mate?”, they keep asking him. Obviously they were not very impressed with the work of Dexter’s either. So, to conclude, my experience with Dexter’s has been nothing short of a disaster. They are rude, they don’t show up on time, they forget the keys to get into their properties, they can’t get a hold of their tenants, they park wherever they want and they don’t call you back when they say they will. A complete, absolute joke. Stay away from these guys.
