The quality of finish is poor

The quality of finish is poor. • The choice of materials is undesirable. • Not everything works, which is expected, but the after sales feels like a battle to resolve obvious issues. Most aren’t answered. • The company will hide behind the specification of the house - which you can’t see, meaning they mark their own homework. They promise to share it, but never do. Quite notable issues have been picked up on by third party trades.

Do not buy from Crest.

Do not buy from Crest.Handover of property several faults identified, agreed would be addressed but on reflection crest decided that it is "homeowner maintenance".So a new build house with an electric socket hanging off, a leaking tap/loose tap, badly damaged sanitary ware are all acceptable standards for crest.Buyer beware!Edit 8th March.Crest replied below stating we are to discuss with the housing association. We have emails and communications showing Crest have acknowledged the faults, recorded them but refuse to address them. The housing association are as baffled as we are. They are escalating it in an attempt to resolve. However it is the builder Crest who are causing the issues and stress so we write this review so buyers can be informed on what to expect when Crest are the construction company of your future home.We belive this to be an honest reflection of our dealings with this company.

Poor customer service

I moved to my new house 5 years ago built by Crest Nicholson. The estate has now been completed and occupied by the residents. However it has not been handed over. The estate is currently managed by a management company which is completely useless. We are paying them for doing nothing. However this is not my issue at the moment. My issue is about a street lights. There is a street light outside my house which is not working since February 2019. I am keep complaining about this issue to Crest but still not fixed. The last response from Crest customer service was that they don't have suitable lamps available with them to replace the blown one. I mean how long would it take to find a suitable lamp? Two years? The roads including street lights should have been adopted by the council but that still not happening. The children's play area is currently in a very bad condition that children can't even play there. stay away from this company if you don't want any hassle from their customer service team!

Recent buyer of a house from these…

Recent buyer of a house from these guys, I must say the quality of the property is at best poor. Materials are cheap, and not even 8 months in and it’s problems after problems. The latest issue was a water leak. We found out that it was the mastic in the shower plate, and they said “sorry” we don’t deal with that. It’s very poor. The walls are made of cardboard sound insulation is non existent. The whole experience it’s been very traumatic. Large cracks are appearing all over the house. Not sure what to make of it. any prospective buyers, do your home work, once you past the 6 month mark all the problems start to surface and you are on your own.As per your response still waiting to hear from your customer service team….

This is a terrible company

This is a terrible company, really not recommend and you will regret.1) Worst customer service of complaint handling, do not solve any problems and a lot of excuses day by day.2) Serious managing problems, always change the site manager, many time of snagging review with explanations to different people.3) Time management problems, over hundred problems of the property and take a month to fix 1-2 things.4) Only want the fake high score, if you complete the NHBC survey with honest point of bad result, they not willing to do anything.

I would like to inform future buyers of…Crest Nicholson Homes

I would like to inform future buyers of what they may be in for when purchasing a Crest Nicholson Home.Unfortunately it is difficult not to move into your new property on the arranged date ,weather the defects have been corrected or not. the site manager said to me that considering it was only a field a year ago he thought they had built a relatively good home, however when I pointed out all the snagging problems with my new house he said, you cannot expect perfection can you.I said well if you was to spend half a million pounds on a new car and bits was damaged or hanging off and salesman said to me well a year ago it was just a lump of metal, you can't expect perfection can you, how would you feel ? Anyway two years later and hundreds of e-mails and telephone calls and lots of aggrivation we are still not any closer to getting a new home finished to perfection. But lets not harp on about my home we have over 100 homes on this development and I can honestly say they all have issues inside and outside the home. The roads and sewage pipes have yet to be completed to enable the local council and highways to adopt, Street Lighting is yet to be finished, some street light are not even wired up yet, leaving the car park in total darkness. Now let me start on the maintenance that is part of the contract in buying a new home, we will build you a new park they say which is one seesaw and some wooden seats, we will landscape the communal areas, plant trees, scrubs, build you a lovely fence etc, the fence looks like it is made out of pallets, the trees are all dead, no scrubs at all and the grass is mostly dead, however the weeds are doing well. As for the cost it has gone up over 25% in two years, the residents have no control over the expenditure because the contract is between Crest who authorise payments and a maintenance company SPA who send the bill to the residents, If I my give you an example Crest arranged builders to come and fix the road, when finished the builders left behind their rubbish, the residents was charged nearly £600 for the waste removal, and called it fly tipping. The street lighting is also a chargeable fee £1200.00 so far this year plus many other hidden fees sneaked into the contract, so my advice is beware and read and understand what you are letting yourself in for. And just in case you think you can talk to someone, the council and the highways departments are not interested as it is a private development. Crest have now moved away and are not interested in after sales support, however they have a new site very close by, and I would warn any potential buyers to beware.

Warm and Comfortable experience

I had a zoom meeting with Sales Secretary at "Potters Grange" to complete the reservation procedure. I am moving to Ashby-de-la-Zouch area from Southampton. Just sold (STC) my house. She was very efficient, friendly, thoughtful, and easy to talk to. Explained to me everything step by step carefully even though it was so time-consuming.It is just stage one of the process to buy New Build but I feel confident that she will make sure everything goes smoothly.I also heard of Crest Nicholson's good reputation, and quality house. confortable

Excellent service Brooklands Park

This is my second time reserving a property with the sales team at Brooklands Park and yet again the overall experience was excellent. Would not recommend

Starting from things we have been told that didn't come true to the lack of speed in the service + lack of communication, having to constantly chase up to see where we are with the purchase and what else should we do to complete. Also trying to show the example home to friends while waiting for the completion running into the branch not being open when it's saying it would be open and after calling the line saying the opening hours and me being on said call during the opening hours, leaving a voicemail and none getting back to me, just overall disappointing. This review is for the Ashby branch. Sorry.

Absolutely incredible!

My experience was absolutely incredible. As a first time buyer, there’s a lot of information that you need to know (and some that you don’t know you need to know!) and after a viewing at Brightwells Yard in Farnham I feel extremely comfortable and confident. I couldn’t have asked for a better person to have met and spoken with than Sally.

Hygge Park has exceeded our expectations, thanks to Fran, Simon and the team

From the moment we stepped into the most unique and stylish show home, like no other we’ve seen before we were hooked (and we weren’t even looking to move!). The customer service and sales experience from the Hygge Park team: Fran, Simon, Elaine was nothing short of exceptional throughout our buying and selling process. Fran and Simon went above and beyond to support our smooth move process through a very stressful time with our house chain. In terms of our new home the standard of design, finish and quality is beyond our expectations, and whilst the houses aren’t cheap I feel like we’ve certainly got what we’ve paid for. From the communication throughout, full handover, to moving in and the generous welcome pack (where else would you get a Joe Malone gift and champagne!), even the small number of snags identified which have all been rectified to our satisfaction in a timely manner. The continued onsite support and customer service check in during the months to follow also means that still feel supported and valued. We couldn’t be happier with our new home, Crest and the team! Thank you!

Decent houses, but appalling aftercare

This week sees our first anniversary at Ackender Hill, so a rounded review seems timely. The house is of decent (though not best) build quality, and good design; well insulated and comfortable. Here, some of the trades are obviously poor - kitchen fitters, plumbers, roofers, gardeners are all pretty bad, but others pretty good. This is the luck of the draw, as it depends on the estate. However, there are some big negatives. 1 The conveyancing lawyers on the Crest side were truly awful, slow and lazy, and had to be chased constantly to prevent the purchase falling through. 2 As reported elsewhere in reviews, the inevitable snagging and defect repair work is appalling. A year in and we are still waiting for two major defects to be sorted. Their call centre often does not answer the phone. Email gets an autoresponder, saying they'll get back in 3 days. They do not. Most are simply ignored, a few get response in an average of about three weeks, and are usually off point, miss things, are too late or simply wrong. A good number of email reports get deleted without being read. They seem unable to keep accurate lists of reported issues, action and follow up, and in our case I have on many occasions had to progress matters with contractors myself. They do not seem to have a ticketing and actioning CRM system.3 This seems to be corporate culture. Their head of customer service appears to think she is too important to deal with customers. And their complaints procedure has no independent route: you have to complain via the people you are complaining about. Corporate wise monkey behaviour at its worst.4 Crest on this site are riding roughshod over their planning permission and terms of lease. A year in, we have to put up with incessant, noisy construction traffic and uncontrolled HGVs on residential, occupied streets; it is not unusual to have concrete lorries, HGVs, loaders and dumpers passing up to 100 times a day. There have been a number of dangerous incidents. No speed limits have been imposed. Trucks mounting pavements is common, and the damage is not repaired. Crest have not provided the required parking for site workers, and wildcat parking is not controlled and causes serious nuisance to residents. There are some signs that Crest is beginning to wake up as a result of resident action. But until they get their post-sale care process in order, they have to get a low score.Update after reply from Crest Nicholson 17/11/22:This is a typical, disengenuous, automated response. It is cynical in that it coincides with Crest trying to get Truspilot to take down my review on the alleged grounds that it is not based on genuine experience. I have submitted copious evidence to Trustpilot to verify that is genuine and honest. This was not a complaint: it was a review. I have not yet submitted my full complaint, as matters are ongoing.

Morton Park

We are currently in the process of purchasing our property at Morton Park. Our experience to date with the Sales Office team and the Site Management has been excellent. Working within the construction industry ourselves, we have rarely come across a site as well managed as this one. We have had access to our new property on a number of occasions, we have been consulted on some changes to groundworks, the site management team really do strive for perfection. We are looking forward to moving into our new home and we feel confident, that should there be any snagging issues then between the Sales Office and the Site Management, they will be resolved immediately. Buying from this site has restored my faith in buying a new build property.

One very happy customer.

Really shocked reading other peoples reviews. We moved into Fairfield Gardens and it seems a breeze in comparison to others experiences. House is absolutely lovely. Chris the site Manager and George have been on hand constantly to see if anything needs doing and it gets done immediately. Any snagging needed looking at has been done so. Workmen are on site early, but even then respectful and considerate. Michelle, Charlotte and Sasha in the office have been great too. Can't recommend this site enough. Really happy with our house :)

One of the worst developers I’ve seen…

One of the worst developers I’ve seen or heard of. Billed themselves as “premium” but were anything but. As soon as they had the money they could not care less. House was delayed completion, during which time they lost a back door key telling me don’t worry it’ll turn up. Then when I refused to move in until they redid the hard flooring the workmen had scratched with their tools etc, they lost track of my front door key with Darren Lewis (head of customer service) claiming a contractor had it but they didn’t know who. Found a hard hat on my landing one day after moving in as tradesman had let themselves in while I was at work. No prior warning. Tiling in shower had to be redone as wall leaned inward, bathroom window re done as it was like an Alice in Wonderland door narrowing, kitchen not correctly fitted and several call outs required, was told in confidence by one of their follow up crew that they knock them up as quick as possible, make mistakes and don’t care as they know there is a follow up team to rectify their mistakes and they get paid on speed of completion. I cannot state this more clearly, DO NOT BUY FROM CREST. You will have what was meant to be one of the happiest times of your life ruined and then have to create a spreadsheet of “snagging” (over 100 items) and push, force, follow up, moan at them until they can be bothered to do it.
