EXTREMELY UNPROFESSIONAL and borderline discriminatory behavior I would have given zero stars if I could. I called to request a viewing for a listed property, and the staff member’s communication was shockingly poor. The very first thing they asked was my name, and immediately after hearing it, I was abruptly told, “This house is not suitable for you.” No questions about my requirements, no conversation, nothing. When I asked why, the explanation made no sense, they claimed the house had no furniture, even though they never asked whether I needed it furnished in the first place. The entire interaction felt dismissive, rude, and completely unprofessional. I couldn’t help but feel judged purely based on my name, which is unacceptable and extremely concerning. This is not how any customer should be treated. Absolutely disappointing experience.

Can’t recommend enough from the level of compassion and kindness shown when looking for a flat for my mother (recently returned from living abroad). Diane kindly listened to the circumstances and worked with me and my mother to find a property suitable and within means ensuring she had a home to move into (when stuck staying in a b&b not qualifying for council housing due to time abroad) before Christmas. Thanks to the professionalism and compassion my mother had a home before Christmas to jumpstart life back in England as a single week in a b&b was costing close to a months rent; this swift assistance meant the money saved allowed her to go from staying a tiny b&b room at exuberant cost to being able to have a furnished home and the comfort of secure housing when faced with limited b&b availability. Forever grateful.

I used Moody's eleven years ago to sell my home. Service was brilliant and the house was sold in weeks. We decided to sell again around two years ago so requested a valuation from three local estate agents, one of which was Moody's. Two estate agents arrived with glossy brochures and pushy sales, one undervalued the property by over £10,000! Then along came Peter from Moody's. "Are you moving again!" was his comment when I opened the door. He gave me his valuation (what I expected) and costs and left me to decide. Of course, with such a personal and professional service I decided to use Moody's again. The sale wasn't as straight forward as last time to say the least! With a collapsed chain days before Completion, a Pandemic and Lockdown then a buyer who took months to get her mortgage and in a position to continue, I felt we would never see an end result. Through it all Elaine was there supporting us, keeping us fully informed and constantly chasing up buyers, solicitors and everyone involved who seemed to find it difficult to return calls or emails. Without Elaine, I don't think I would have still been sane! I can't thank her enough. Moody's are a traditional Estate Agent with knowledgeable staff who actually care, and that's hard to find in a World where making a profit is the only thing that seems to matter. HIGHLY RECOMMEND Moody and Company. This is the best place to find your choice. House is well equipped. Very supportive, friendly and attractive services. And most importantly, this is the most reasonable price range I found in South Shields. GOOD CUSTOMER SATISFACTION. Once I complained about a damaged bed. Eve came immediately and ordered a new one over the phone. I received the new within half an hour. Eve is an angel who supports you a lot. Immediately attend your telephone calls and emails. Very quick response and great care. THIS IS THE BEST PLACE.

AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COSTS. We rented a property in south shields for just over a year. April 2022- May 2023. A series of poor service experiences throughout (too many to list) , very rude lady in the office, some repairs carried out only after we considered legal action due to faulty heavy blinds (condemned by their own tradesperson that came out to evaluate them) falling onto my hand and causing damage ( I am a surgeon.) In the end they begrudgingly replaced them. The most disappointing was at the end of the agreement several faults with the flat were claimed to be our fault- outdated cropped and edited photos were sent to us by email claiming that things were in better condition than they actually were. Luckily we had sent photos of the actual condition during inventory in the first week of moving in by email (nothing was done about this). They attempted to extort money from us and clearly lied- trying to retain our bond which we received back with much difficulty. In short anyone unsuspecting could well be lied to and overcharged by this company. It is on the advice of a good friend who is a lawyer that specialises in property dispute that I write this review so that these practices can come to light and the public know how this company does business- its the only way to cause reform - definitely stay away. I have the screenshots of all the conversations happy to post these too.

I used Moody&co to manage two properties of mine. Awful service. Arrogant management. Wholly unprofessional service, and any complaints were often met with denial of any responsibility. I raised a complaint about their service (or lack of) to the property ombudsman and most of my complaints were upheld (poor communication/ failure to acquire gas safety checks/failure to acquire signed inventories) and compensation awarded. If you want a property properly managed....I would strongly suggest you avoid putting your investment Moody&Co’s hands.

So far an excellent company to deal with. Specifically Eve, communication is top notch and the advice has been invaluable Hope to work with this agent for many years to come. Fees are very reasonable considering the level of service and there is nothing that cannot be arranged. It had been a while since I had rented a property but they happily answered my questions very quickly and took away a lot of the worry for me. My family have had dealings with Moody's for over 50 years. My father bought his first house through them and, over the years, we have lived in two houses purchased through Moody's. They were very professional and helpful back then. We are now benefitting from their service to landlords which is excellent. The staff could not be more helpful and keep us regularly updated. Unlike many Estate Agents their terms are straightforward. Highly recommended.
