Trustpilot"Avoid Hunters Property Management
"Avoid Hunters Property Management, Inefficient, Rude, and Unprofessional"My experience with Hunters Property Management has been extremely disappointing and frustrating. They have consistently demonstrated poor service, inefficiency, and a dismissive attitude towards tenant concerns.Ineffective Issue Resolution: Hunters fails to handle even basic maintenance issues. For example, a heating issue during winter was passed to the landlord without any attempt to troubleshoot. I had to step in and take personal risks to resolve the problem myself, only to discover it was a simple battery replacement. Their inability to perform even basic triage highlights their lack of professionalism and problem-solving capabilities.Creating Gaps Between Tenants and Landlords: Instead of acting as a competent mediator, Hunters merely relays messages between tenants and landlords, causing delays and unnecessary misunderstandings. This approach has damaged the relationship between myself and the landlord, as the agency often fails to communicate effectively or accurately.Rude and Dismissive Behavior: The staff frequently respond to concerns with a dismissive tone, making tenants feel unsupported and undervalued. Their arrogant demeanor gives the impression that addressing tenant concerns is a favor rather than their responsibility.Neglecting Tenant Safety and Comfort: Health and safety issues, such as rat infestations and malfunctioning alarms, were not addressed promptly, despite the serious risks they posed. The lack of urgency in handling these matters has caused significant stress and discomfort for my family.Minimal Value Added: Hunters operates more like a messenger than a property management service. They fail to provide meaningful solutions and seem content to pass the burden of responsibility onto others, leaving tenants to fend for themselves.Overall, Hunters Property Management has proven to be unprofessional, inefficient, and dismissive. Both tenants and landlords deserve better. I strongly advise against using their services if you value timely resolutions, respect, and effective communication.

GoogleAs first-time buyers, we were initially apprehensive about the process. However, Hunters Downend were fantastic. They were always responsive and kept us informed every step of the way. They demonstrated excellent knowledge of the local market, which was crucial in helping us find the right property. They also went the extra mile, arranging viewings at short notice and liaising between solicitors. Their proactive approach and willingness to go above and beyond made a stressful experience much less daunting. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to any home buyers.

GoogleWe have been very impressed by Hunter's over the past few months, whilst buying our first home. Initial viewings were easy to schedule, and were able to be scheduled at short notice. The staff were all very polite and friendly, and had in-depth knowledge of the surrounding area. The offer process was straightforward, and David and Sara were incredibly helpful through the process, helping to organise additional visits and liaising with our solicitors. We would highly recommend!

Viewed a rental property. I wanted to proceed but then told they wanted to collect more interest and no communication whatsoever.
Absolute shocking service and wouldn't recommend at all.
Thankfully I got no further with my application, well I guess I don't know cause they never come back to me. What a joke!!

Trustpilotlettings fees are very high
For lettings their fees are very expensive. First 3 months of my 450 rent studio flat they took and I did not get anything. When tenant leaves another month will be gone as inventory check is 180 and cleaning in 250 and this is for a studio flat. If i want to cancel the contract i have to pay 900. Stay away.

GoogleWe recently sold a rental property through Hunters and it’s probably been one of the smoothest sales we’ve done. David was our main point of contact, we had continual updates throughout the sale which made the whole process less stressful. A fantastic service and I would highly recommend to anyone looking for a hassle free sale. Thank you so much Hunters!

TrustpilotI have only great things to say about Hunters Middleton!
I have only great things to say about Hunters Middleton branch! From the very first phone call right up to exchanging contacts They have been beyond brilliant. I absolutely loved the pictures of my house and the write up most definitely did my house justice. My house sold within 4 days and I was over the moon with the price!Nicole was the shining star for me- she kept in daily contact and was the most reassuring and helpful person every single step of the process. She chased up people when they needed it ensuring the sale moved along at pace. Thank you so much Hunters but especially a massive thank you to Nicole- you have been amazingly!

TrustpilotDisappointed is an understatement..
To say we’re disappointed with the level of communication from the Horncastle Branch with Michael and Susan Noonan is an understatement and the level of service is a far cry from Michael's commitment to customer experience.Researching this branch shows multi-occasions that this activity has happened here.If you’re viewing a property with the intent to buy, don’t expect them to tell you if any other parties are interested. They’ll just pull it from under your feet along with any visions or excitement of a future you had in said house.Viewed a property two weeks ago, following the viewing we had a really positive conversation with Susan in the office expressing great interest, no more than a week later sold to another buyer with no communication. It would have been professional and courteous to reach out to the buyer but more so to the seller, as I’m certain they would like to have known of other interest. Susan and Michael took away any opportunity or chance to put in any offers, resulting in many wasted hours.I wouldn’t usually leave a review; but the tone in which Susan delivered the news was blunt, lacked any sort of empathy and very closed, to date I am still waiting for a reply to my email which I can only assume has been ignored. We will steer clear of this company for future sales and purchases, knowing that their priority doesn’t appear to be with either buyer or seller.Happy to receive a call or email to discuss our experience with you.

TrustpilotHunters are not interested
Hunters let the house adjacent to ours. There have been multiple pipe leaks around the bathroom causing flooding which in turn is causing damp smells on our side due to the length of time taken to address the issues. It's been repaired after four weeks now within hours water is currently coming through the ceiling next door soaking our party wall and they have told the tennant it's livable no problem.

TrustpilotExpert advice! - Thank you Tom Moorhouse!
Expert advice!
The lovely Tom Moorhouse came to value our house on 22/08/2026.
He gave sound, candid advice which my husband and I are extremely appreciative of.
Although we are not in the position to list our house right now (no fault of Tom's), we'll certainly be back within 12 months.

TrustpilotAwful
Awful. Incredibly disorganised. Would establish inspections and never turn up, would constantly email about overdue rent that wasn't overdue. Would pass the blame constantly. Attempted to raise my rent by a "reasonable" £200 a month six months into my tenancy which can only happen every 12 months and cannot be more than the CPI price index; they failed on both counts. Renting is honestly awful, and these clowns pray upon the anxiety of insecurity to get what they want.I have bought a house now, I wish all renters the luck to buy their own homes one day so we never have to deal with letting agents like these ever again.

TrustpilotI would completely recommend avoiding…
I would completely recommend avoiding this agency, they are slow to respond, have no information ready at hand and this has possibly been the most annoying process of purchasing a property with them. There was a lot of missing information that I was not provided and they basically only know how to respond when they need something. You will call them and they say they'll get back to you and just disappear. Avoid if possible.

TrustpilotSales progression team lied and not very professional.
We are in the process of buying a bungalow at the moment and the sales progression team told us the vendor had been to sort the electrics and service the boiler..previous tennants had apparently got in debt so electric was cut off..Hunters lied saying this would be sorted. A second viewing 2 weeks later and a wasted 120 mile journey confirmed nothing had been sorted. When we told them we were disappointed with them we were told to leave the property.

TrustpilotDamaged our house, and we're not even their clients!
Hunters hung a "for sale" sign on our property, which was a surprise to us, since we were neither selling nor letting the property. When asked to take it down, four visible holes have been left in the wall of our home. It has been six and a half weeks, and the holes are still there. In a couple of weeks, we're going to need to escalate this to the ombudsman.

GoogleI sold my house through Hunters Downend during the Covid-19 pandemic, which of course was a significant and unexpected hurdle in the selling process. I found Hunters very supportive and helpful from start to finish.
The initial valuation was carried out promptly, and the valuation process was honest and transparent. Throughout the viewings process etc I was provided with regular feedback, and then was regularly updated throughout the latter stages of the sale. Whenever I phoned up for sales progression updates, Sarah was helpful and efficient.
I'd absolutely sell through Hunters again, and it is clear they are leaders in the local area in terms of the rate at which they sell houses, as well as standards of customer service.PositiveQuality, Professionalism

GoogleAfter months of disappointing activity from Purple Bricks, we decided to appoint Hunters and it was the best decision we could have made. David Bamforth and the team were proactive from the start, kept us fully updated on progress, secured loads of viewings and helped negotiate a great deal. I cannot recommend them highly enough and would never opt for a non-high street estate agent again. If you are looking for great customer service, a pro-active approach and a team that’s on your side - choose Hunters.

Hi Emma, thanks for your great feedback. It really is positive to hear from someone who has experienced both online and a local high street agent and is able to give an unbiased opinion. Hope all is well with you both. Kind regards Dave B

GoogleI would highly recommend the team at Hunters Downend. From the initial valuation, they were professional, knowledgeable about the area and above all honest and transparent. This remained the case throughout the process despite us taking a long time to find a suitable onward purchase and then being setback by the coronavirus pandemic.
I was provided with regular feedback after each viewing and then throughout the sale process. David Vincent, David Bamforth and the team were always quick to respond to any queries I had. I would be more than happy to sell with Hunters again in the future.

TrustpilotAgent Harj was full of fake promises
Agent Harj was full of fake promises. Although he was all smiles and seemed friendly, the minute we left after our viewing he didn’t return texts or calls and shyed away from any contact. After several calls to the agents I finally managed to find out myself that the property had been given to someone else, rather than them calling me to inform me I had to dig this information out of them which was frustrating. Avoid!

TrustpilotBad communication
I have been trying to contact them for 4 months in regards to my flat and contract but they are absolutely appalling at responses and making things clear and helpful for those they are letting to. They have sent me in so many different directions on who to contact and have stopped responding to me within one week of me first contacting them. On top of this it took them weeks to respond and report to maintenance issues, and when they did the response I got was rude and abrupt. As well as that they issues weren't resolved fully resulting in me feeling uneasy in what was meant to be my own space. Absolutely awful service and wouldn't even consider letting/renting from them again.

TrustpilotPathetic estate agency
Pathetic estate agency! The guy who is showing properties mixing up addresses and you end up viewing a different one. If you make an offer they show a very keen interest in person then no-one ever comes back to you. The property owners will never get to find out who made offers and they may just losing out on perfectly good tenants…!They do not even talk to each other within the office to relay interest. You get a bunch of promise, but that is all!Laura is useless!
