We used Hubbard Torlot to sell a unique property, and overall, we're happy with the experience. After being disappointed by other agents who we felt undervalued the property, Hubbard Torlot's valuation matched our own guesstimate. Their saleswoman (and owner) inspired confidence and we decided to proceed with them. Within a week of going to market, we had multiple viewings and received an offer, so, in hindsight, maybe we could have set a higher price. There were moments when we felt HT was leaning towards the buyer's interests rather than ours, but to their credit, they were receptive to our feedback and adjusted. Ultimately, we gave five stars as they sold our property at a good price during a difficult period.

I ultimately decided to use H&T to sell my flat, due to their being local and various pieces of positive feedback. However I have been left incredibly disappointed with the support and service received over my few months with them. They will charm you into signing on the dotted line with a personable pitch and a nice low percentage rate. But unfortunately, following they failed to deliver to the standard we had hoped for and expected. All said and done, they ultimately did the job and sold my property, though it took many reductions (seemingly their only strategy) and constant pushing my end. Furthermore, the aftercare was non existent. We were rushed to exchange unexpectedly whilst on holiday simply due to poor communication between my buyer and H&T. This was all communicated via a bomb drop exchange date ultimatum in a 5pm email. Following this update, all but one of the Selsdon team went on A\L, on our last min exchange day! Without even a handover in place! In our desperate attempts to follow up on Lucy’s email, we found the only person there a poor guy 3 days into the job having to take the brunt of our constant chasing. We eventually had to try to call other branches for support and thank goodness for Simon in the Warlingham branch for stepping in, otherwise our move could have been delayed for months. We received no apologies for the incompetence, or even a confirmation of exchange from Selsdon branch once it had in fact completed. House buying is meant to be an exciting time. But quite frankly they made it incredibly stressful and we were left feeling very unsupported. The team really need to review their ongoing support to clients and develop a progression system that works effectively. This all being said, we would like to thank Amy for her hard work in helping sell the property, putting herself out for a Sunday morning viewing - wasted talent!
