Buyers beware ! See note sent to Berkeley Homes from us at Green Park, ReadingGood evening,We received by post a photograph of our vehicle outside our front door. Apparently, we are to pay for this intrusion. Some kind of levy for parking.We wish to inform you our vehicle parks on our drive, except of course when it is in use, and this includes such dull things as going out to buy food and such like and bringing this into our home. We also do other ordinary stuff like packing things into our vehicle before a journey. We take exception to your or affiliated individuals or firms intruding upon our privacy and asking for money. This is no more than begging without a cause and a nuisance. Take this as notice from us to you to cease and desist this pernicious behaviour. We tolerate no intrusion or hindrance to the ordinary enjoyment of our home and reasonable use of its environs. Doubtless you will want to share this with senior management. Anymore notices or other communications demanding money or threat of something will be taken to the police with copy of this complaint. No other communication will be sent to you, or any persons or firms affiliated to you.Take note and stop this intrusion forthwith.

House Held Together with Pritt Stick

I have been living in a Berkeley home since January 2019 from a new build and since then my roof has literally been slipping off three times since this date. The first time when we had winds the tiles just slid off. This was within the two year warranty period and Berkeley did arrange for this to be repaired. However, the second time it happened two years later I complained to them as the roof tiles literally just slipped off again and also this time causing a roof leak. To this they replied it was because I was living in a windy area?!! There are far more windy areas around the UK and in particular coastal regions where roofs do not just slip away every time there are some strong winds.So the third time in 4 years as I write this, loads of roof tiles have literally just slipped off crashing into the back garden and also smashing through my glass garden table. Not only is this causing stress with the cost of repairs if I can’t get this repaired through their Premier Guarantee but the danger to life having roof tiles just flying off as a blessing no one was actually standing there at the time. Now I wait again for the roof leaks that I only got repaired two years ago with no help at all from Berkeley Homes. The amount of money these houses cost does not reflect the shoddy build and zero customer service once they’ve grabbed your money.

AVOID - poor homes and rude manager

Houses were built to poor standard, I have experienced no end of problems since moving in. When I raised this, Customer care manager was incredibly rude. Such a shame as their houses are not cheap. AVOID AVOID AVOID. I wish I could go back and avoid this dreadful company!!

Unfortunatley we purchased a flat in Reading (Kennet Island) it seems there are multiple issues with residents who bought their properties in good faith having to purchase deed's of variation to be in a position to sell their property. We have been chasing the Berkeley homes legal team for weeks and we risk losing the sale. We have had no response - there are at least 7 other residents who have complained about this.

Poor focus on the Customer during the warranty period

This is very disappointing to write as I had previously had a 5-star service from Berkeley Homes through the buying, developing, initial move in period and early phases of the snagging/warranty period in the Hollyfields development in Kent. However, following some changes in the team all of the ongoing activities have taken a significant turn for the worse. There appears to have been no proper handover process, which is totally unacceptable for a large company and the new team don't appear to be briefed about ongoing actives and have taken weeks to respond to requests about status, and I have one item that should have probably taken no more than 1month to resolve that is now entering month 6 - and still no date for resolution. Not going to bore you with the details but its beyond incompetent .

Specific on how they handle management fee

Their partnered management firm, Centrick has ridiculously raised the management fee. It was estimated of £485 per annum during legal completion. However, I was billed £1,215.4 and further revised to £850.5 per annum after huge reaction from the local community. Even £850.5 is a 75% increase from the estimation. Do we have inflation of 75%??? Berkeley should get involved because this makes Berkeley a suspect of providing incorrect information for the sales. They are selling a new built, which is 63% more expensive then my house, in same development advertising £689 per annum management fee. I'm not sure if all Berkeley development has same issue, however, this is an active dispute with Centrick at the moment.19 Oct - no feedback from Berkeley other than the fact that the relationship manager directed me to customer support....

I brought my apartment in Horlicks Quarter. Our full year service charge has increased by at least 11% from prior year. My apartment tends to be chilly, and the radiator doesn't seem very effective. Even at its highest setting, it fails to adequately warm up the room, particularly the living area where its heating capabilities are noticeably inadequate.Moreover, I often detect the scent of marijuana from my window, indicating that young individuals in the vicinity are smoking.Additionally, if someone occupies your parking spot, your options are limited. Parking elsewhere or seeking reserved parking from the concierge are possible solutions, but even they can't ensure you won't receive a parking ticket.

Excellent team of Berkeley help me through the purchase of my first new built. Quality project facilities and professional team support. Regular updates, important reminders, site viewing from Sarah S and key collection from Bella Yang. They answered our queries, showed us around and really care our needs. The customer service executive Rumbi and Eli’s are helpful to follow up any issues we raised after we move in. This central Reading project is fantastic and we are happy to be here. No signboard for some flats, no delivery.

No signboard or excess for the delivery man for my flat, no way for a delivery man to know where I live so, I'm not getting mails for more than a month now and, I'm not the only one. I should have checked the window size on the layout that I was given. The window sizes are smaller then what we saw in the show flat. Apart from these two things everything else is nice. The quality of the work seems good.And my postcode is wrong on the Google maps.

The interior design of Berkeley homes is of good taste. Glossy simple patterned tiles, various grades of white coloured doors & cabinets, warm lighting give serene pleasure and calmness. Doors, windows, cabinets, carpets, mirrors, heaters and electric goods all work smoothly and clean on the date of completion. The selection of Huntley Wharf site is a good decision: away from town centre but still within walking distance to train station. Chocolate Island, it’s trees, the river and quite commercial buildings nearby have formed ideal residential environment.Berkeley staff are all heart warming attentive people. RMG, managers of Oval village, are very unprofessional. Total disaster

Initially I gave Berkeley Group 4 stars but reviewed down to 2 stars because their management company RMG is a total disaster. I invested in a BTL property by Berkeley homes called Oval Village. I bought it off-plan so didn't know RMG will be their managers. It's taking over 1 month to get basic info. They don't even know who in their office is responsible for what. They just keep passing the bulk back to the owners and developers. It almost feels like sabotage, otherwise just a extreme form of incompetence and lack of urgency.Oval village also don't seem to know what their responsibilities and have been unable to instruct their "management company" decisively.
