Although Dale Eddison were enthusiastic about selling my house and it did sell for the asking price, I feel that the service once I was on their books didn't live up to expectations. Gemma in the Skipton office was a great asset to the team and was lovely, both on the phone and face to face and I feel deserves recognition. I was also very impressed with the photos that were taken of my house. Helen also seemed to completely 'get' my house and the fact that it had been adapted for wheelchair access and the buyers that needed targeting. Here are some examples of my more negative experiences: Initially I had a buyer for my house through Dale Eddison before it went live on the market, but had to put it on the market when they were no longer in a position to proceed. Once I had decided to put on the market it took days of chasing to get it live. The house was going to be empty the following week and I was keen to get viewings booked in before this happened. There was no urgency and when it did go on, errors in the listing meant it didn't come up in the correct search criteria which slowed it down more. I only had a few viewings, but chose to do these myself in order to get people to view quicker. Viewings by the state agents would have been a week later when my house would be empty. When calling the office it went to answer machine most of the time. I would leave messages never got a reply to these messages. In the end I stopped leaving messages and I just kept ringing until someone picked up. The people who bought my house said on the second viewing that they would be putting an offer in first thing the next day. I didn't get a call the next day from the estate agents, I was worried as I thought the estate agents would call as soon as the buyers had called. In the end I called just before they closed. I was told that an asking price offer had been put in earlier that day (the buyers told me they had called first thing) and my original buyers were now also in a position to proceed, yet I had to call to find out 7 hours later. My poor buyers were left worrying all day if I would accept their offer. When I needed a copy of the EPC, I emailed my sales negotiator. It took a week for her to get back to me despite emails and calls, she even emailed to let me know she would send it as soon as she could. I ended up popping into the office where Gemma emailed it straight away, days before the negotiator got back to me with a copy, a task that would have taken seconds. I wanted to keep a close eye on how the sale was progressing, especially as the previous buyers dragged their feet. I had to chase and although I was told Dale Eddison were keeping a close eye on things updates didn't happen and I had to chase them lots. Every sale in the chain was through Dale Eddison. I would chase weekly but it could be weeks before I got a response.

We recently had to put my mothers house on the market the sale of her home was a difficult and emotional decision. We contacted Dale Eddison as we have known them as trusted estate agents for many years and they did not disappoint us. The team were incredibly accommodating, diligent and sensitive to the situation. Myles was assigned to sell our mothers house and he was extremely professional but also kind and understanding. We bought through Dale Eddison. Will and the team were excellent!. Will phoned us at regular intervals with updates and he was always very positive and friendly. He kept us calm when the going got tough. Poor Shannon had to listen to my tears over the phone on more than one occasion and the team had to put up with Andrew's visits into the branch everytime he passed (he still does!!) We used Dale Eddison in Skipton when we purchased our new home and we cannot recommend them highly enough. From the offset the service was impeccable with various members of staff dealing with enquiries and viewing appointments, and when our now new home came on to the market they contacted us and wasted no time at all in getting us a viewing. Through negotiations and the actual purchasing process, Emma made such a professional impression and nothing was too much trouble for her despite the issues we had with the chain below us. Emma and Helen were very responsive, understanding, professional and although some organisations treat their customers like a number, we can categorically say we weren't with Dale Eddison. Even down to the last detail of presenting our new home key in a ribboned box was just the perfect touch. Not that we are planning to move for a long time, we would have no hesitation whatsoever of going back to Dale Eddison to deal with our sale. Even though the process was stressful with the chain below us the team at Dale Eddison, in particular Emma and Helen, eliminated some of the worry and concerns we had. Although we were buying through Dale Eddison, so, in essence, they weren't 'our' estate agent, they were always more than helpful. In fact, if it wasn't for Laura Houseman, I think we would still be struggling with a stuck chain and waiting to move. Laura always had a 'can do' attitude and went the extra mile to get things moving and sort out the problems. She was unerringly cheerful and positive, and always had time to listen and understand the issues, then to make big efforts on our behalf. She was a star 🌟 On moving day there was a problem being notified of the money moving on up the chain so we were unable to get the keys. In the end we called in to Dale Eddison's Skipton branch, who made a quick phone call and sorted it out for us immediately.
