GoogleWe used Redferns to sell a flat in Sidmouth. The staff have been incredibly helpful and supportive all the way through the process, going the extra mile to keep prospective buyers on board, and keeping us in the loop. (I'd like to give a special mention to John for all his hard work on our behalf.) Given that we don't live locally, it was incredibly helpful to have such a committed and friendly team looking after us and our property. Thank you Redferns!

GoogleI used Redferns to sell my home and that of my recently deceased Mother. I wrote to the directors of the business and said. “I am writing to express my sincere thanks to your organisation for the smooth and business like manner in selling both my and my Mother’s property. Ben Gibbs was magnificent, professional and respectful in all his dealings, negotiations and particularly in finding buyers. He kept us informed at all times and nothing was too much trouble for him. He frequently had to be the go between with 2 very demanding purchasers. He is, in my opinion, a real asset to your business. His local knowledge was key to servicing our needs and those of our purchasers. The timescales were exacting and he rose to the challenge, knowing how to keep all parties happy. GoogleVERY poor service Elaine (lettings manager) is totally unhelpful and not customer friendly in anyway. Stay well clear of this company they are not professional.
Dear Mr Addams Thank you for your feedback. We were surprised to see this review given that you last rented with us in March 2023 and Elaine left Redferns in May 2023, over two years ago. Since then, our lettings team has changed and we now have a new Lettings Manager in place who has been providing an excellent level of service to our tenants and landlords. We always welcome constructive feedback and aim to resolve concerns at the time they arise, so it is unfortunate that this has been raised so long after your tenancy ended. GoogleI cannot speak highly enough of the service Redferns provided when selling my mother's flat. We were kept informed at every stage and John in particular bore the brunt of a challenging process with different buyers. Lee's valuation at the outset was fair and we were offered the full asking price. We are especially thankful for the 'above and beyond' approach (e.g. going round when the buyer's carpet fitters were measuring up, checking on reported issues for us, arranging for tradesmen) as we are not local and therefore not in a position to respond ourselves. We don't have another property in the area to sell but if we did wouldn't hesitate to use Redferns again.

GoogleBrilliant service, Ben was incredibly helpful and knowledgeable. We were also impressed that he came to show us the house even though (due to road closures) it was extremely difficult to get there, unfortunately some other estate agents in Sidmouth were not so helpful.

GoogleShocking communications from this branch. Rental viewing in Oct/Nov last year.. no update with regards to letting the property shortly after the viewing. Just ‘we will let you know’ answer. Then approximately 1 month past viewing date after chasing again, I found out that they were waiting for the council to sign off the properties in question. Don’t know why I wasn’t told this initially! The lady advised me that ‘this could take a week or months’ they weren’t sure. So I have left it until after Christmas to chase, 3 months post viewing to be told today that we were unsuccessful! No email or anything!! From start to finish the communication has been awful. If you are looking for a property to let and you use this branch, you will be certainly be doing all the chasing!
We are really sorry that you did not receive a call, Hayley, this is not our usual practice and we all work hard to provide an excellent level of customer service. This is not an excuse but we were overwhelmed with tenants wanting this property and we thought we had contacted all those interested. GoogleServed a notice 21 and evicted us just so they could but the rent up. And then did everything they could to not pay back our deposit. Awful staff, left over remnants of morris lettings aka Pegasus lettings from sidmouth. Worst human beings i have ever met. Crooks all of them. They will just let thesleves in when ever they feel, if your home or not. Update 19th January. I jave been threatened to take down this review under physical violence. I refuse to do so. As to posting pictures, i am more then happy to share the same pictures i gave to the DSA who are revumy complaint about the return of my deposit. Which has now gone to a independent judge to review. Thank you for your review. Unfortunately, you have not stated the full facts nor mentioned the complete lack of care for our landlord's property. We only enter a tenant's home should we not get a response from the tenants over a number of days or in an emergency. We are employed by the landlord to look after their property but also fully respect that the property is also a tenant's home and treat all our tenants with the respect and service they deserve. A tenant's deposit is only withheld should they be in breach of their tenancy and the condition of the property was far from satisfactory and you were given the opportunity to rectify the issues. I will refrain from adding photographs. Reply to update 19th January Thank you for amending your review with further unfounded and completely untrue accusations adding to the already abusive review. There have been no threats made toward you at all and there are no complaints for anyone to review. I choose to no longer engage whilst you try and justify your inadequate ways to look after property by blaming others and behaving in this manner.

GoogleWe used this well known Sidmouth Estate Agent to assist us in finding a suitable flat for our daughter close to the town centre. This they managed to do very quickly and we are now at the stage of being very close to Exchange of Contracts. They were at all times very professional, knowledgeable on both the market and the local area, friendly and supportive at all stages and in particular kept us informed at all key points of the purchase process, always reliable in what they said they would do, they achieved in a very timely manner. The person who was assigned as our focal point was Ben, whose attributes were those of a first class Estate Agent as was his support team in the office. I would have no hesitation in recommending them to family and friends as well as to the general public.
