We were extremely happy with the service provided by the team at Hunters Sidcup in selling our property. We dealt with Mark and Matt, a great combination of experience, professionalism and energy throughout the experience. They gave sound advice on the market and local trends during a very dynamic period of the Covid-19 pandemic and in the end, achieved what we believe is a decent price and did so within a reasonable timeframe. Lastly, the guys were very considerate of our Covid-19 concerns/needs and had clear procedures to maintain safety through the sale process. I enlisted Hunters to sell my property which I had bought through them a year earlier, as I had been very impressed with them the first time round. I dealt mainly with Matt on both my sale and previous purchase. He had a strong knowledge of the market, advised on a realistic sale price, was very professional, courteous and responsive throughout. I was under offer within 2 weeks of going onto market. During the whole transaction Matt was on top of everything and proactively helped to keep things moving smoothly. During a pandemic, it only took 10 weeks from offer to completion, which was exceptional in these circumstances. He saw the sale through every step of the way, kept in touch and provided a very personal and professional service. We have been rental tenants at Hunters (Westwood’s at the beginning!) for 8 years in the same property. We have had a good rental experience with them. Amanda and her team have always got repairs or problems dealt with quickly and efficiently. They have been really helpful and given us great advice. Awful. Incredibly disorganised. Would establish inspections and never turn up, would constantly email about overdue rent that wasn't overdue. Would pass the blame constantly. Attempted to raise my rent by a "reasonable" £200 a month six months into my tenancy which can only happen every 12 months and cannot be more than the CPI price index; they failed on both counts. Renting is honestly awful, and these clowns pray upon the anxiety of insecurity to get what they want.I have bought a house now, I wish all renters the luck to buy their own homes one day so we never have to deal with letting agents like these ever again.

Matt and the Hunters team were professional, efficient and effective at handling the purchase of my new home. They made sure that the transaction kept going, which I greatly appreciate - chasing each side (myself included), making sure we had everything we needed (e.g. arranging second viewings etc). I have recently bought a property through Hunters during the pandemic and found the whole team to be friendly, helpful and professional throughout this challenging time having to operate under the different circumstances. I mainly dealt with Matt & Mark who were extremely helpful keeping me updated on the process & going the extra mile to ensure everything kept progressing when solicitors were stalling. Matt has also been very cooperative finding out additional information from the previous owner whenever I had a query. Sales progression team lied and not very professional.

We are in the process of buying a bungalow at the moment and the sales progression team told us the vendor had been to sort the electrics and service the boiler..previous tennants had apparently got in debt so electric was cut off..Hunters lied saying this would be sorted. A second viewing 2 weeks later and a wasted 120 mile journey confirmed nothing had been sorted. When we told them we were disappointed with them we were told to leave the property.

Damaged our house, and we're not even their clients!

Hunters hung a "for sale" sign on our property, which was a surprise to us, since we were neither selling nor letting the property. When asked to take it down, four visible holes have been left in the wall of our home. It has been six and a half weeks, and the holes are still there. In a couple of weeks, we're going to need to escalate this to the ombudsman.

I would completely recommend avoiding this agency, they are slow to respond, have no information ready at hand and this has possibly been the most annoying process of purchasing a property with them. There was a lot of missing information that I was not provided and they basically only know how to respond when they need something. You will call them and they say they'll get back to you and just disappear. Avoid if possible.

Agent Harj was full of fake promises

Agent Harj was full of fake promises. Although he was all smiles and seemed friendly, the minute we left after our viewing he didn’t return texts or calls and shyed away from any contact. After several calls to the agents I finally managed to find out myself that the property had been given to someone else, rather than them calling me to inform me I had to dig this information out of them which was frustrating. Avoid!

Bad communication

I have been trying to contact them for 4 months in regards to my flat and contract but they are absolutely appalling at responses and making things clear and helpful for those they are letting to. They have sent me in so many different directions on who to contact and have stopped responding to me within one week of me first contacting them. On top of this it took them weeks to respond and report to maintenance issues, and when they did the response I got was rude and abrupt. As well as that they issues weren't resolved fully resulting in me feeling uneasy in what was meant to be my own space. Absolutely awful service and wouldn't even consider letting/renting from them again.

I have just bought a property through Hunters and found the whole team to be friendly, helpful and professional. I mainly dealt with Matt who kept me updated and communicated extremely well throughout, making me aware of anything I needed to check or chase. Towards the end there were a few issues with one of the solicitors stalling things and Matt and the team at Hunters went out of their way to help move things along. When I collected my keys, they gave me a moving in gift, which was a very thoughtful and personal touch. This is a family run business and it it is clear that they really care about their business and their clients. I would thoroughly recommend them and will use them again.

When I was leaving the UK, someone recommended Hunters to me when I was considering letting agents. Unfortunately, I didn't listen to them but when we decided to sell up, I gave them a call. It has just been a year and we complete tomorrow - it's been a long journey what with an offputting tenant, a broken chain, a skittish market (thanks Brexit!) and the flow of information killed by online agents who operate from a script from remote call centres. HOWEVER! The persistent energy, focus and level of service of this family run, high street Estate Agent has been nothing short of phenomenal. The face of all this is the young Matt Dawson who has an attention to detail and commitment to his promises to get things done. When faced with a (Purple) brick-wall dead-end of an online agent, Matt used and then extended his network to talk to agents elsewhere in the chain to find the status of things. If he said he'd speak to someone and get back to you, he did. If he couldn't get info from the agent or the conveyancers, he'd hit the client and see what he could find out there. An impressive young man. Even on his days off, you could rely on the team in the office to patch you in on what the status of the sale was. I would use them again in a instant. Can't recommend them any higher than that.

Choosing the right estate agent, when the market is flooded with lots of choice, all claiming to be and do their best by you is no easy decision but I would happily and very easily chose Matt at Hunters again! Matt was exactly the right choice. From the very first meeting he presented well, came across professional and knowledgeable, was always available to reassure us and keep all parties updated and happy (massive necessity when successfully selling a house and ensuring completion arrives). He was accommodating to our individual needs and requirements and never once made us feel any queries or requests we had were too much. Matt does not come across as your stereo-typical estate agent which is exactly what drew us to him. His approach and conduct is incredibly refreshing and something more estate agents should adopt. He is the perfect person to calm nerves and anxieties which are, unfortunately, a normal part of selling houses. Having personal experiences dealing with the 'online' estate agent, I would always seek to use a high-street agent like Hunters. Their personal approach and accessibility is something you just cannot get online. It is true there is an initial difference in cost but ensuring a house sells for the right price, first time and does not end up back on the market ensuring the buyer is a quality reliable buyer (which did not happen with the online agents) certainly makes the cost worthwhile Massive thanks to Matt, and the team, whose efforts sold our house on the first day of viewings at full asking price. You cannot ask for more!

Wow is all I can say, from the first meeting with Matt until we sold the entire process was pain free and Matt and the rest of the team went above and beyond on so many occasions. Selling a property when you are not local is always more difficult but they ensured it was not. Mark was also excellent at chasing solicitors and making sure the sale progressed smoothly. Hunters were the first estate agent we talked to but we were so impressed we didn't bother meeting any others.
