TrustpilotTotal crap the valuation it was all sunshine…
At the valuation it was all sunshine and smiles with ,Buyers marching to my door I WAS TOLD ,
As soon as the sign went up SILENCE.
A month later Not one viewing No communication , Sibi emailed and said if this doesn't pick up I'll apply to revoke the contract,
Just 15 minutes later A notification appeared ,"You have a viewing"
Bullshit, They just got an ex colleague of friend to visit on a day I had not chosen for viewings and the escorted viewing option was a sham because the agent turned up 20 minutes late After id shown the person around .This shambles was to make the threat go away , They then called me and advised me to lower the price Into the next lower bracket and it would creat huge interest .
Bullshit Nothing For another month ,
A phone call from them put if the blue Arrived And the cheeky bastards wanted me to lower the price again .
So I stayed there and then I want out of this contract for complete failure on your side ,without any penalties for earl closure ,And if you don't agree I'll take this to the ombudsman.
10 mins later, That's ok the contract is void no penalties .
So now all I need is for them to come and get there bloody sign of my garden , I'm not advertising their shit company for free.
Avoid fox's like the bloody plague.
Total wankers

TrustpilotAwful service, unprofessional behaviour and lies
Crawley office.
Communication 0
Professionalism 0
Honesty 0
It all started when Jack Allsobrook came to value our property. He was full of it. Told us that he had a few interested people for our property and could expect viewing right away. No viewings in the first month. Little wonder, when they do not answer the phone. Then came the recommendation to lower the asking price. So we took £15k off the price. We got one viewing in the second month.
I called the office and eventually got through on 8 July because I’d not received a marketing update in over a week. I was told two calls were made 29 June and 02 July. No missed calls on my phone from them. I was repeatedly told the calls were made, we have a log and I repeatedly replied, I was not called I have no missed calls from Fox & Sons. After several back and forward with this, I asked for the branch manager Kane Caulfield to call me to discuss . He called and basically reiterated what his colleague had told me and proceed to argue he was right and I was wrong. Very unprofessional. Very rude and disrespectful. Clearly the training didn’t focus on not arguing with the clients!
The upshot of the alleged missed calls was to tell me I’d a viewing. Now why they couldn’t text me as they have done in the past, or call the other person I am selling the house with, beggars understanding. My conclusion is that it was a lie.
I’ve now come off the market with Fox & Sons, and I wish I’d read the Trustpilot reviews before I agreed a contract. Utter cowboy outfit and a shining example of the reputation given to estate agents.
Now here’s the killer, 13 July, I called in person to the Crawley office to collect my key. I gave my name and after a wait of about 3 minutes the person present my key, handed it to me. I asked, do you not need to see my ID to prove I am the owner? I was told you need to sign a sheet and he went off to get it. Didn’t have it with him. And he never looked at my photograph ID!! I could have been anyone. Zero regard for security. Absolute amateurs and a burglars delight.
I cannot stress this enough AVOID FOX & SONS AT ALL COSTS.

GoogleWe recently began house-hunting in Shoreham-by-sea and viewed five properties on our first day with Layla Gordon, a trainee negotiator at Fox & Sons. Layla did a superb job. She really understood what was needed at that stage of a property search. She listened attentively to us, posed pertinent questions, provided invaluable contextual information on the locality and the individual properties, and did all this with real warmth and interest. She demonstrated an impressive combination of professional and interpersonal skills. At the end of our viewings, we were surprised by the property that most held our interest. Layla arranged a second viewing but unfortunately the property was taken off the market before we could see it again. Layla communicated speedily and empathically with us about this development. Overall, our experience with Fox & Sons and specifically with Layla Gordon could not have been better.

TrustpilotAwful mortgage advising service
Booked an appointment with one of their mortgage advisers, a lot of info i did not need to know that the company has x branches and have done x money on mortgages, just to be cancel on the second appointment. Got back to me after 4months saying he would help me that time, after a couple exchanges no more correspondence ive no idea whats going on. Meanwhile was contacted by another mortgage adviser she said to give her a change she’s different from her colleague. First appointment same things, second appointment a no show. Whats wrong with you people? Unbelievable. At least have the decency to cancel the appointment, i got out of work for the appointment waited 1h, even emailed and nothing.

GoogleExcellent service throughout, they valued the property higher than over agents in the area and delivered on that promise, particularly great service from Alysha, who when we thought the surveyor had lost the back door key, organised a locksmith to attend with no fuss thankfully the key was found before the locksmith arrived. Thanks Alysha and everyone at the Shoreham branch

Absolutely disgusted at the way this company treated my son and his fiance. They had put a holding deposit on a flat and through no fault of theirs the landlady withdrew the flat and Fox and Sons refused to give them back their holding deposit. They could not afford to lose that money.
This is warning to anyone who is thinking of using Fox and Sons

GoogleWent to Shoreham Fox & Sons to look at Properties and also needed to re-mortgage as our fix term was coming to an end. Met their Mortgage Consultant, Oliver Ostler, who was very professional and knowledgeable. He helped us through the whole process ensuring we signed up to a product being offered that most suited our needs and situation and covered ever aspect from start to finish. This has now been completed and Oliver still keeps in contact to ensure everything is ok. Highly recommend his services.

TrustpilotGosport Fox & Son - bad experience
Gosport. Pushy agents who will get a sale at any price including coming to your property without notice, walking through the grounds to the back door and scaring you to get you to accept a lower offer. I wish we hadn't been tricked into going with them as they offered success via a " boxing day" campaign and their "extensive" data based. Both yield nothing but low offers.

TrustpilotDo not use this Eastbourne Estate Agent
We feel our property was overpriced, which led to reduction after reduction in sale price. Did not respond to phone calls, or said things would be done that weren`t. To us the agents came across as arrogant, starting from not explaining the length of initial contract, right through to poor viewings both in numbers and quality of details given to possible buyers. Things were delayed because information was not passed through, and quite often was inaccurate. Very poor value for money. Instructed around the end of July 2022, completed 30th March 2023, pushed into a very short time between exchange and completion because of misinformation, and into a large reduction on our sale price.

Dear Mr and Mrs Lindfield, Firstly I am sorry you weren't happy with the overall service and some of these points will be taken as constructive feedback for my team. while you mention viewings numbers we did achieve a sale.i feel some comments here are not totally fair, the reduction and the time it took was due to issues with the chain not with fox and sons, a buyer in the chain asked for a £20k reduction as his agent below lost their buyer and re sold the property for £30k less. which then filtered through the rest of the chain, a price to which you agreed. we also dropped our fee to help in any way we could without hesitation.either way the points around service i will look into and try to improve the team.all the best for the future,Stephen RodgersSenior Branch Manager

The brighton branch, has taken 2 years to get my dad's flat sold after he died. Recommended to sale the flat at auction by Ray Murphy, that fell through after months of trying to get it sold, then went down the normal route. This all starts out fine ,in 2022,then had two more offer ,these were not satisfactory, finally had an offer in August 2024 which has taken 5 months of us chasing to get over the line. TrustpilotNo show viewing
Viewing booked and confirmed by George, but no one turned up.
I had to call repeatedly to get an answer, only to be told a manager had “tried to contact me to cancel”, which is untrue as I had no missed calls or messages.
I was promised a call to rearrange the viewing for the following week and never heard anything. Called again and was assured someone would call me shortly. Two weeks later, nothing. I’ve since submitted a formal complaint and haven’t even received an acknowledgement.
Wasted my time attending a viewing that was never going ahead, followed by more time chasing. Poor organisation and even worse communication.

Fox & Sons Property Management6 Poole HillBournemouth
Dear Andrew,
I’ve had to find an alternative way to contact you, as my previous communication channel was closed. This is not conducive to properly raising ongoing concerns about the day-to-day condition and management of the block.
During a recent visit, I observed a growing number of empty flats. The building is beginning to resemble a vacant commercial property, which raises obvious concerns about security and potential misuse. A simple, low-cost measure, such as installing net curtains in empty units, could help deter unwanted attention and reduce the appearance of vacancy.
More concerning is the apparent ease with which individuals are gaining access through the main security door. There are signs that the locking mechanisms may be being bypassed or interfered with. Residents should be formally alerted to remain vigilant and report any suspicious behaviour immediately.
There are also indications that individuals may be attempting to assess occupancy of flats by inappropriate means. This raises serious concerns regarding privacy, security, and potential criminal activity, including unauthorised access to networks or utilities. This must be treated as a matter of urgency.
In addition, I believe it is now appropriate to carry out a full audit of the garage allocations and associated title deeds. It appears some individuals may be in possession of multiple garages, despite previous clarification that these are not demised under lease or freehold terms. This situation should be reviewed and regularised to ensure fair access for all qualifying residents.
Overall, while there are some positive aspects, the issues outlined above require immediate attention and a more proactive management approach.
I look forward to your response and to seeing appropriate action taken.
Regards,5CC

WARNING: DANGEROUS NEGLIGENCE, AVOID FOX & SONS AND THE ENTIRE CONNELLS GROUP!
Rating: 1-STAR (Zero if it were an option)
Do not trust Fox & Sons (Bitterne) or any agent under the Connells Group umbrella. This isn't just a "bad experience" it is a case of gross negligence, security failures, and a total lack of professional integrity from the branch staff all the way to Head Office. My year-long nightmare proved that this company has zero regard for your home’s safety.
1. COMPLETE SECURITY BREACH:
Agent Lillie Hansford showed a level of incompetence that is genuinely dangerous. After a viewing, she left my front door wide open and simply walked away. My home was left completely unsecured, vulnerable to theft, squatters, and the elements for over six hours. It took a neighbor to raise the alarm not the agency. They effectively invited the public into my home and abandoned their post.
2. HOSTILE AND TOXIC STAFF:
When I went to retrieve my keys, I wasn't met with an apology; I was met with an aggressive, heated confrontation from Lillie Hansford, Chris Stockill, and Laura Harrison. Their behavior was unprofessional, dismissive, and utterly toxic. They showed absolutely no remorse for leaving my property wide open and vulnerable.
3. COWARDLY MANAGEMENT:
Branch Manager Chris Nicholls and Area Manager Stuart Mansell are total cowards. They refused to even get on the phone or meet with me, hiding behind "busy schedules" to avoid answering for the massive safety failure their team caused. They are clearly incapable of managing a team or a crisis.
4. CORRUPTION AT HEAD OFFICE:
The rot goes all the way to the top of the Connells Group. Dyane Lawless at Head Office had the audacity to baselessly accuse me of "trashing" the premises, a blatant, desperate lie to cover their tracks. When I asked why the police weren't called if that were true, she had no answer. She offered a pathetic, insulting £100 "hush money" payment which I rightfully rejected. She was a complete waste of breath.
5. PROVEN GUILTY BY THE OMBUDSMAN:
It took over a year of fighting, but the Property Ombudsman officially ruled AGAINST them and awarded me a significantly higher amount. This is a matter of record: they are officially recognised as being in the wrong and failing their duty of care.
6. GREEDY DATA TACTICS:
Even after losing, their "dopey" DPA team is refusing my legal "right to be forgotten," desperately clinging to my data for six years just in case they can squeeze a commission out of me. It is pathetic, greedy, and shows they care more about a few pounds than the law or customer rights. This I will be taking up with the ICO!
STAY AWAY. Do not let Lillie Hansford near your property. Do not take mortgage advice (or any advice) from Chris Stockill. This company will fail you, insult you, and leave your home at risk. Whether it's Fox & Sons or any other Connells Group brand, they are a shambolic outfit that does not deserve your business. Go to any independent agent in Southampton, anyone would be better than these people.
