GoogleI actually live here in a Studio Room for 1 month, its actually pretty good, I think the rest of the reviews are based on 5yrs ago. (Alarm check every Friday in the afternoon, no big deal honestly)
PROS:
- Made a lot of request for fixes when I first moved and honestly they got the job done in 2 working days. (they were quick and responsive!)
- I use the laundry room and made a request about the dryer not working, now it works perfectly! (Some rooms have a washer/dryer)
- Bed is big, stove works, oven works, came with a sofa, heating works, got a big cabinet
- Security is cool, gives you the laundry key if you're a night owl
- Staff/Receptionist actually listens and helps!
CONS:
- Laundry room is far since I'm on a high floor, but I did choose the room and ended up getting a room without a dry/washer
- No microwave or TV (some places come with either or both)
- bathroom is small but I'm in a studio can't expect much
- price is a bit more expensive then other places but has more of a luxury hotel vibe which is nice.
Conclusion, Pros far out way the Cons! Definitely will be staying for 1-2 years

TrustpilotVelocity Village is TERRIBLE ACCOMODATION
I am leaving in Velocity Village, 11 solly street. I can say my experience here was horrible and like a dark nightmare. There is comprehensive construction going on here, but they did not inform me while I was signing the contract. Every day they wake me up with strong no side of drills and hammers. There is no CCTV here, and my parcel is getting lost repeatedly. Thieves just broke my mail box, and management t do not care at all. The elevator is not functional most of the time. I really want to cry loudly. I will record a video and post it on youtube so you all can see what terrible accommodation it is!

GoogleI wish I could rate this 0 stars. The lift that serves City Point has been broken for almost a month (it will be a month on Saturday 7th December).
Staff don't seem in a rush to get it fixed and always have the excuse 'they're collecting quotes' or 'it will need parts ordering'.
We live on the top floor and it's inconvenient to us. There are people with children living in the building on higher floors who must find this incredibly difficult to live with, not to mention if someone had a disability that means they rely on the lift.
We're leaving at the end of December, who knows if we'll find a removal company that will help carry our furniture from the 12th floor to -2.

TrustpilotOne agent was kind and courteous
One agent was kind and courteous. The other was intolerable, unempathetic and just a bully. Laughed at me when I told her I could be homeless. Zero dignity or integrity.

GoogleFlat is modern, clean and fully furnished. I cannot hear anything from the other flats or corridors. I don’t have any complaints about this building. Also, the maintenance staff are fantastic, they get jobs done within a couple of days of your reporting them. Very impressed and love living here!

GoogleThe pay station doesn't work either for new £10 notes or cards. There is only one machine. We were therefore stuck in the car park. No one is on duty in the car park but we called the helpline and assistance arrived in a few minutes.

GoogleI really want to say nice things about this place because we went to view the apartments twice and they were lovely. A 1 bed and 2 bed on two different occasions. Really nice size and good place! Although the service we had from the estate agents were absolutely terrible. The second viewing we had the estate agents showed us round the two bed flat. Said she’d reserve although a day later it was taken. She suggested a different flat which was a one bed with office which we hadn’t viewed but was sent a virtual tour and immediately snapped it up signed with £795 deposit 2 and half months in advance of us moving. We are currently 2 weeks away from us moving into this flat so decided to contact them as we had not heard from them. Considering the current situation with Sheffield going into tier 3 lockdown again we asked if it was possible to move in sooner. The estate agent eventually came back to us saying that the current tenants in the property we have signed for are unsure if they want to stay and wanted to stay on although we had signed an agreement. Now putting us in a very unfair and difficult situation. I don’t understand why they are giving way to the tenant that are currently in when we have signed? They should have never told us this flat was available when it clearly wasn’t! Very unprofessional and couldn’t be arsed. Now leaving us last minute frantically trying to find another place. It was a real shame because the apartments were so nice! But the lack and poor communication. The attitude towards us about the flat and unprofessionalism of the agents I would not take a chance with this place. Definitely not garuntee even if you’ve signed a tenancy!! And still waiting to receive back deposit!!!

Tenancy commenced during construction - never told anyone about this. The work is still ongoing and not ideal if you work shifts or from home

GoogleVery clean and comfortable place to stay in especially for students. One thing I do not like about the place is that when I checked out, they charged me for carpet cleaning (£75 per room from the deposit) as they stated it must be …

GoogleThere seems to be no allowance for short stays that go from daytime hours to evening hours (or vise versa) - for example: 17.30 to 18.30 will cost at least £11 (possibly more)
