GoogleHighly unprofessional service, caused massive stress .
My experience with MacKenzie Way has been incredibly frustrating and stressful. I was planning a significant move from an island to the mainland to make commuting to college easier for my daughter. Despite knowing our situation, the agency failed us. What should have been one of our happiest moments quickly disappeared within days. My daughter was so upset , this was cruel and unnecessary.
* Severe Delays: We waited well over a week for a tenancy agreement that they refused to send out.
* Poor Communication: Responses were constantly delayed, leaving us completely in the dark.
* Administrative Error: clerical mistake and a total lack of information on how our application was being processed.
* Data Privacy Failure: After withdrawing, they completely ignored my legal request to have our sensitive personal data destroyed, so had to send another email the next day , which they then did reply.
Moving is stressful enough without a letting agency making it harder through inefficiency and a total disregard for your journey and the laws they should Stick too.
I recommend you do your research on this company before making any decisions.

GoogleTo start off in 2023 they were excellent towards me great communications etc via email and telephone call. Then that stopped! Repairs were non existent left me 6 weeks without a working toilet saying "its not an emergency ". I had to repair it myself after waiting what seemed forever. My heating in my property is also none existent as I have only 2 working heaters in my entire flat. Emailed them to let them know that they needed replacing as they are over 50 years old and have never been replaced. For them to say send pictures etc and we will get it sorted. This was I. 2024. Still to this day I have 2 heaters working. Communication is very very poor I dont know how they pride themselves on being the best estate agents in Ayrshire when they are the worst! Thankfully my property has since been sold and been purchased by a much better landlord who has gotten rid of Mackenzie Way from managing the property as he didnt like the way they were been. By law they have to give you 48hours notice before the landlord comes out to see you. Nope I never got that I got an email on the day saying that he was coming out. Thankfully I dont have to deal with them again!

GoogleA smile can hide a knife.
I was purchasing a property through this agency and, up until the final stages, they acted as though everything was progressing normally. Jane was polite to my face, the staff were friendly, and every time I called they instantly recognised me as the buyer of the property.
After discovering multiple serious issues with the house, I revised my offer to reflect the reality of what I was buying. The seller accepted the reduced offer.
Then, without warning, I received an email from my mortgage broker informing me the property had been relisted on the market.
Neither my solicitor nor the seller’s solicitor had been told.
When I called the agency for answers and introduced myself exactly as I always had, “the buyer of house X”, I was suddenly told: “I think you’ll find there is no buyer for that house. Who is this?”
An outright insult to my intelligence from people who knew exactly who I was.
The excuses and contradictions that followed only made things worse. Jane stated categorically that the solicitors had been informed. They had not. This was later confirmed directly by both sides.
No apology. No accountability. Nothing.
This process cost me time, money, stress, and genuine emotional devastation. My broker and solicitor, with decades of experience between them, both stated they had never seen anything handled this poorly.
Be extremely careful dealing with this company.

GoogleI am writing this review as I am amazed by the level of customer service from Jane and her staff at McKenzie Way,They listed my property and the next morning I had a buyer .!!!.Jane doesn’t hang about making viewers wait for days to see your property like some other agents ., She is right out asap showing the property .I have used McKenzie way to buy the property I live in at the moment . Same professional service when I bought a few years ago .No hanging around waiting for days for an appointment to view,
I throughly recommend Mackenzie Way . Well done Jane and her team !!!

GoogleI sold my flat in Stevenston using Mackenzie Way and I could not have been happier with the service I received from Christine, Jane and the team. They were efficient and polite from day one and did everything in their power to attract viewings. Thankfully only 2 were needed to get the flat sold and the sale completed at the end of last week. Communication skills excellent, customer service excellent and always a welcome smile at the office.

GoogleVERY IMPRESSED!
Mackenzie Way did exactly what I wanted when selling my property:-
Sold it within a reasonably quick timescale, got a sales price I was happy to accept and charged a very reasonable set amount. Jane and Keiran were also great to deal with. Selling can be a very anxious time. This was not! Thank you Mackenzie Way.

GoogleMacKenzie Way are absolutely fantastic. From the initial valuation with Jane to the excellent marketing and negotiating with Kieren. Christine was always on hand to answer question I had and took the time to explain the process of selling my property. I would definitely recommend MacKenzie Way to anyone looking to sell!

GoogleWe entrusted MacKenzie Way to manage our rental property for nearly two years, but unfortunately, our experience was disappointing. Throughout the period, the service was consistently subpar, with one of the most frustrating issues being the need to chase them every single month to ensure our rent was paid on time. This ongoing lack of communication and follow-through led us to make the decision to change management companies.
When the tenant eventually vacated the property, we discovered several serious oversights. Most concerning was that MacKenzie failed to place the tenant's deposit into the deposit protection scheme on time, more than 3.5 months after it should have been. Additionally, they did not inform North Ayrshire Council of the tenant's council tax start date, causing us to receive 2,500 GBP council tax bill.
For anyone considering their services, we strongly recommend seeking a more reliable and responsible property management company. Unfortunately, our experience with MacKenzie was far from satisfactory.

GoogleI can only comment on my experience with renting from this place. I have no experience with them for purchasing property. I can only assume they are much better at selling than renting. The communication was fine. Until I handed in my obligatory 30 days notice to quit. Then they were not interested at all. They wouldn't even meet me to to end of tenancy check out. They had plenty of notice, told me they'd be in touch nearer the time to arrange to give keys back. I was constantly chasing them. So apparently in 30 days they had no appointments or time to do an end of tenancy.. I find that difficult to believe. Now, I left that property immaculate. With photo and video proof from the day I got the keys to the I left that property - all time stamped. They tried to claim all sorts from my deposit. After 6 months, and them appealing at every stage, I got my deposit back in full. Which I am very happy about (and ever so slightly smug about, if I'm honest). They tried, and failed, to keep my money. Well done to Safe Deposit Scotland for seeing through the lies of these unprofessional chancers. That cash has went towards spending money for my trip to Morocco next month. Ahhhh, better luck next time, amigos!🍸 😎 ⛱️

TrustpilotWorst letting agency in Ayrshire
Best letting agency in Ayrshire...More like the worst! Removed by environmental health due to damp and red, black, green mould in property. Re-triggeted childhood asthma for spending 3 weeks in property. Mould, damp, slugs, unsafe electrics. Never completed repairs environmental health requested. Never apologised/compensated me even though I paid full rent from Oct - March, lost all my belongings (minus what I could take to temporary accommodation) whilst waiting to be deemed unintentionally homeless. Stress caused my physical and mental health to decline. Kieran is very passive aggressive, apparently I brought slugs from my last property, willing to antagonise especially if he is aware of mental health issues and fully discriminatory towards anyone with a disability. Hid my key under a plant pot in garden so landlords mum could enter - breaching the lease. Tried to change my lease to allow Landlords mum access. To top it all off they claimed my full deposit for 3 weeks that I lived there..and they have ruined my physical/mental health so I had no more fight to give - avoid like the plague!

GoogleI have known Jane and her staff for a few years, there's nothing that's to hard for them to negotiate between landlords, buyers and sellers. We recently sold our house with them and it got snapped up it wasn't a conventional deal as we sold to a couple in England and the process is completely different, I was a nervous wreck and Jane calmed me down and always put things in perspective, I believe this personal service is way above and beyond what we would have gotten if we went elsewhere and paid considerably more. If you are thinking of renting your property or putting your home on the market or buying a property look no further save your self a fortune and get the good old service that is friendly professional with personal touch that delivers excellent value for money.
Thank you guys at Macenzie Way Saltcoats for your service 5 stars from us 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🙏😊

Trustpilot(NOT) the Mackenzie Way
As a letting agent, they were helpful and knowledgeable, however it is clear that they are not very selective when it comes to landlords and unfortunately the attitudes of mackenzie way staff changed as I began to come across issues in the flat I was renting. Issues like being left with no heating and water for total of 2 months including a month over Christmas and New Year and excuses being made. Many from the landlord but they did not over rule this. Issues with landlord appearing at the flat un announced and landlord sending accusational messages. There is much more but at the moment as I am taking this further I cannot comment on these.
I believe I may have had a different experience with Mackenzie Way if It had been a better landlord but it is their responsibility to make sure that landlords are meeting requirements and unfortunately it does not seem to happen so for this reason alone I would not recommend.

GoogleI'm now living in my second rental property that I've rented from Jane and her lovely team. I've never ever had an issue that Mackenzie way landlords agents haven't been able to sort out. They are loyal to their good tenants. They will do anything they can within their power, to help their clients. I totally recommend Mackenzie way if your looking for a tenancy, long or short term. They are used by many landlords. So often have lovely lets available. I give 5 🌟 to Jane and her lively team.

TrustpilotTerrible estate agent
Terrible estate agent. I have enquired about nunerous properties and ive had to send more than 5 messages before i get a response by which time the properties have been gone (supposedly) they still show up in searches though. And one property has been listed 3 times in a year but listing does not state its only a short term rental which it clearly is

GoogleAppallingly bad service. On multiple occasions I have enquired about properties and it has taken upwards of 6 messages before i've received a response, if i even have, so their claim to be available 24/7 is clearly rubbish as i believe the majority of their reviews are. The staff are rude and incompetent
