Trivett Hicks offered us an experience we would never forget …. Without our savings we would have been literally left out in the cold.Environmental Health deemed the building “unfit for human habitation”.The landlord also knew that it would cost the earth to run, as it was a holiday home for a short while and she paid the bills.Example:Our energy bills spanning 3 months were equal to a years worth of fuel bills, for a family of 4.*We are just 2 people and we were charged just over £1400 for gas alone in 3 months. This upstairs lighting was never earthed and we could have been electrocuted by simply changing a light bulb. The illegal 50 year old system fitted in 1972 which finally broke when the pipework flooded our living room. The Company director at Trivett Hicks replied,“I don’t have time to read your email in full, and your email traffic is difficult for us to keep up with”.Just 16 weeks after moving in, we were being forced into a ‘revenge eviction’.

GoogleHaving a listed thatched property to sell was no challenge for Trivett Hicks Estate agents Ross on Wye who found us a suitable buyer and continued to see the sale through smoothly . Attention to detail meant that we were happy and informed as was our Buyer. An experience that could have been stressful turned out to be more than satisfactory.

GoogleDespite pointing out that the property we were letting did not reach the EPC standards, this agent persistently defended the landlord and failed to acknowledge that letting out a property with the lowest rating possible was not acceptable in terms of current legislation. They also re-let the next door house on behalf of the same landlord, not once, but twice, following the April 2019 deadline which prohibited renting properties which were below the accepted E level. When we moved out and tried to address this with them (having had no satisfactory help when we did live there) they were totally on the side of the landlord and refused to acknowledge wrongdoing. They continued to let out G rated properties throughout 2019 and 2020 and then affectively blamed us for the fact that an EPC (with a G rating) was not performed until November 2020. They also tried to use the excuse that our rent was lower to account for the very high cost of heating a house (which was LPG, a 1972 system and no radiators in the bedrooms). At no point were we told that the rent was low to account for this (also, the rent was not low at all!). Personally wouldn't touch them with a barge pole.

Hi Nick, I am sorry you felt the need to leave this review purely because we were not willing to alter our standard terms and conditions when you asked us to. It is important for our terms to be clear, to protect both the client and ourselves, and to avoid potential disagreement in the future.

FacebookProfessional, courteous and knowledgeable. I would have no qualms in highly recommending Trivett Hicks if you are considering selling or letting a property.
Thanks again for all the kindness and support you have provided, through what could’ve easily been a really stressful time.

GoogleRecently sold my house via Trivett Hicks. The sale went smoothly and in line with sale price recommended, which was higher than valued by other Estate Agents due to Trivett Hicks knowledge of the area. Would highly recommend.

We are sorry you felt the need to leave us a negative rating, which we assume is based on the circumstances of your failed property purchase. It was agreed between our clients and yourself that acceptance of your offer was on the understanding that they had not yet found a property to purchase but they were actively looking. Being elderly and of poor health this seemed a reasonable request which you did not object to. It is unfortunate that the situation dragged on for a lengthy period of time and they too were disappointed that you became fed up waiting for them. It became even more unfortunate that when they did eventually find a property to purchase you were no longer able to proceed with the purchase of their property.
