I’d be lying if I said my experience with buying an Avant Home has been smooth sailing due to various different issues. However, thanks to the help of one of the site team, Tom, we have had our snags resolved and I cannot thank him enough. Tom has gone above and beyond for us and completely changed our experience for the better. I hope Avant realise how important and valuable Tom is to their organisation.

Excellent service from Avant homes, we moved in February 2022 and we have had exceptional customer service throughout from JOANNA TAYLOR, she replies fast to emails, calls etc and always helps as much as she can. We initially has someone different when reserving our home and this one was not as good at keeping up the communication but as soon as joanna came along we knew exactly what was going on and when etc. We had a few things on our snag list and these were dealt with promptly. I had a few issues with our garden and this was a slow process with customer service north east (who you go to after the initial 7 days) but as soon as i informed joanna re how slow the process was going she managed to speed this up which was very helpful and i couldn't fault avant at all anything we needed was there in a flash and we are extremely happy with our experience. Thanks a lot especially Joanna :)

After spending over 18 months chasing Avant over day 1 snagging & escalating to NHBC, I have finally met someone from Avants after sales team that sticks to his word & importantly gets things done without me having to constantly chase. I've been a big critic of Avant's after sales approach when it comes to snagging & I still am, as it's shocking. I'm also big enough to acknowledge when someone has done a good job. Heartfelt thanks to Julie Dickenson from Avant Homes We would like to thank Julie Dickson at Wilbur Chase for her tremendous help in purchasing our first home in the UK. From the first time we met till completion, she has been really professional and helpful. She is responsive to our enquiry and has given us good advice throughout the whole process. Most importantly, she is understanding and puts herself in our shoes! Upon knowing that our tenancy would end very soon, Julie endeavored to explore the possibility of having the completion date falls within our tenancy. She went the extra mile in coordinating Avant Home’s legal team and the site managers to make the miracle happen: we could move into our new home on the last date of our tenancy! It was not a coincidence but it was surely a miracle! I was moved to tears when Julie called me to confirm the completion date at about seven o’clock in the evening -- she should have been off duty at that time and prepared to enjoy her day off the next two days! She made this call to set our mind at ease! She is not only reliable but understanding! And I would like to thank the site managers Pete and Lee as well. They are friendly and approachable. They have built such a wonderful home for us! Without all your effort, I don’t think this miracle would happen. You are such a great team at Wilbur Chase! Thank you all! Mr Wan

Julie made us feel very welcome and took her time to explain details about the Whinwick at West Rainton. We are unused to buying a new house but she carefully explained the procedure and the options with regard to floor coverings, wardrobes etc. All in all, she was extremely approachable and helpful.

House was clean when we moved in and the workmanship was of good quality. Little things that needed done were dealt with promptly. All members of staff have been helpful and friendly. Especially Georgia at the Hay Green Park development who has gone out of her way to make the house move stress free.

Talk about dangling a carrot into a sale to then being completely dismissed. Customer journey was exceptional until the moment our sales was final and now we haven’t go a clue what’s going on. We reserved our plot on the 9th April with Kath, with a firm guarantee the site would be the last to build to the old spec.We then went back to site and picked our choices on 23/05/22 and paid a deposit of 2609.25 which states is none refundable.On the 4th June we had a call to say the microwave/oven and rain shower is no longer included and I would need to pay extra for them. I was also made aware that all the tiling had changed and we could need to repick our choices, as soon as the samples become available. Site contact has been chasing the management team about the changes as the stated items were included at point of reservation. We are still waiting for samples and new choices appointment and answers on the microwave and rainshower.There was also an issue with the garden boundary that we are awaiting on answer on, as there are two drawings with different boundaries.We are suppose to be completing in September but have now been told we are looking more like November. With the justification that staff are on holiday season, this is not my issue. Our mortgage runs out in October and we have zero answers and confidence, we are literally sat waiting for this whole experience to fall apart. I would recommend anyone looking at buying an Avant home to do some research and join the face group groups to get an insight from others who have or are buying. Customer service is none existent and this company have zero morals. Anything you are verbally told you cannot trust, when we ask for things on email they never arrive. Escalated this to customer service and nothing, reached out to the owner on LinkedIn nothing… stay clear.

This 5* rating is for the Lowry Park Site Manager Keith. Since moving into our property 1st June 2022, communication with Avant has been poor. Obviously there will be snags which we appreciate, but Keith was visible daily from the day we moved in to help raise or fix any immediate issues and put us at ease. Nothing is too much for Keith and we really feel we can trust what he says and that things will get fixed/resolved.From the point of being given the customer services contact details, communication went right downhill. I appreciate a lot of people moving in having their own issues, but having 1 or 2 people trying to deal with all of these queries is ridiculous. It would make more sense to have 1 person per a small handful of plots. What has taken weeks of chasing customer services, Keith has managed to resolve straight away or at least get the ball rolling. Overall, our experience with Avant has been saved by Keiths' outstanding customer care qualities and visibility. He really is an asset to the team and we will be sad to see him leave once the development is complete.

Our experience with sales advisor Angela at Copper Gardens was very positive. Angela is a credit to Avant.She was helpful, friendly , efficient and knowledgeable. Whilst we missed out on the property we were wanting it was a pleasure to deal with Angela.Our only negative aspect with Avant was that there was no local show homes to view which did impact on our decision.

I’ve been in my house over a year now & within the first few days my downstairs toilet just stopped flushing. It was fixed within a few days but it has happened again at random a few more times. It’s not working at all, still under warranty but no response to my emails to have it fixed. Furthermore, the 4 terraced houses are supposed to have 2 parking spaces each. They didn’t measure it & placed the plates (with handwritten numbers which have now came off with the rain) randomly meaning 2 houses have 4.5 spaces & myself & my neighbour have 3.5 between us. I have been emailing every month for 11 months to have proper plates, not handwritten ones & the spaces to be properly measured, all I get is lip service & no action. There is also a mound behind the houses which we were all promised would be flattened & landscaped by Avant but a year on & it’s just weeds & is a completely eyesore. We were also told that the factors look after all external grounds which, having spoken to the factors is not the case & there are only certain parts of the grounds taken care of. The customer service experience from Avant has just been appalling. They take your money & run…I would never buy from them again. It is just exhausting & stressful to deal with them.I shouldn’t have heightened anxiety issues over a year after being in my house & having to deal with these people who do not care about their customers.

I have just recently purchased at Avant homes Monkswood Priorslee.The quality of the home and the level of customer services provided by Dave and Ian was superb and Keana kept me up to date all the way.Snagging was very minimal and Dave went above and beyond to ensure they were completed promptly and to a good standard. I would definatly recommend them.

As first time buyers I can honestly say I would not recommend avant! Buying a home is supposed to be an exciting experience but this has been the opposite. When I collected the keys the house wasn’t even finished. I arrived all excited. However this soon changed. There was a digger on my drive so I was unable to park near my house. A bin full of rubble in the kitchen. Painter still in having his lunch break, no gate, no shed, fence broken, hole in the bedroom floor which had a wooden plank (which was too small) trying to fill it. I’m no builder but something a cowboy builder would do! And many more problems. We have been in 4 months now and the work which wasn’t finished in the first place hasn’t been completed! I’ve chased and chased but now avant are ignoring my emails. As soon as you release the money they don’t care!!!!! Avoid!!! My doors won’t close and even the front and back door leak. I have started a petition so would appreciate if everyone who is having issues signs it in change.org under ‘Avant homes - needs to change!’

Stephen arnell has been to my property multiple times to provide after care (plastering/decorating/and inspecting other issues reported) since buying the property. His work has always been to a high standard and he is always sociable, polite and friendly. The entire after care team for Avant have tried their best to fix issues when they have arisen and have sent people out to inspect before assigning the relevant contactor.

Called in to try and make an appointment. The Sales Advisor was more than helpful and was able to squeeze us in at short notice. Nothing was too much trouble and he took the time to explain t he different houses in our price bracket along with the buying process and extras available. He even booked us an appointment at another site so we could see the house we are interested in. 1st class experience.
