The best estate agents we have used in Brighton

We cannot thank Lara enough for everything she did to help us find our new home. The moment she told us about the property we have now moved into, she immediately dropped everything to arrange a same day viewing for us, which really showed how dedicated and proactive she is. From that point onwards, Lara made the whole process feel effortless. She handled all the back and forth so smoothly, kept communication clear throughout and genuinely made us feel like nothing was ever too much trouble. Moving house can be stressful, but having someone so approachable, calm and supportive made such a difference. This is also the second time we have used Fine & Country Brighton & Hove and once again the service has been exceptional. Lara’s personal approach, professionalism and care really stand out and we would absolutely recommend her and the team to anyone looking for an estate agent they can truly trust. Thank you again Lara. We are so grateful for all your help and absolutely love our new home.

Thanks Sheldon

Sheldon was a great help through the selling process particularly as only one of the family was living nearby the property being sold. We relied heavily on updates and his communication about status was always clear and reassuring. From our perspective he seems always to go the extra mile to keep the buyer on board and move the process forward.

I travelled 5 and a half hours to view…

I travelled 5 and a half hours to view a property just outside Diss several days ago. I had spoken to Max the director via email on several occasions clarifying the time and date of the viewing, as I had been let down previously by another estate agent who never turned up at a viewing. I was I formed that, nobody from F&C were now available, but the developer would be there to show us around. On route to Suffolk, several hours before the viewing, I once again called to make sure the developer would be there with keys. We arrived at site 10 mins early, after a 5.5hr drive. No developer, we were able to look around the property as the key was in the door, however unable to ask any questions, of which there were many. To make it worse, the development was of a poor standard with little or no thought put into the layout. Infact in one property in the development, the layout was completely different to that shown on Rightmove. I find it unexceptable and totally unprofessional that possible buyers are treated in this manner. I don't know what more I could have done to make sure somebody was on site for a viewing. I will never use F&C again

First rate service

When you're looking to sell a property in Cannes, the choice of which Estate Agent to use can be daunting. From the outset, our contact with Fine and Country has been exemplary. They have kept us involved at every single stage with responses to queries being immediately dealt with. Their access to buyers was first rate with a steady stream of visits to the property and their feedback about each visit was timely and detailed. I would have no hesitation in recommending Jana at the Cannes office - she provided a level of service and professionalism rarely experienced these days.

Worst Customer Service

We have a high-end property to sell and Fine & Country looked like the right estate agent for us. However, the customer service experience wasn't great at all from start to finish, and they let us down last minute, they didn't turn up to the arranged valuation and didn't bother to call. From the off, when you call them you are met with an AI bot, which is just awful. You ask to speak to a human and it just says no transfers are available. I got a call back the next day trying to arrange an appointment, and they ask you what you can do, but they say they have to speak to the person who will come out to view. This then takes a further two days for another call back to confirm the appointment. This should have been the telltale sign... AI, and the fact you have to wait three days over two calls just to make an appointment. The appointment was made, then I got an email with a video to watch of the lady coming to view the property, and you think, "OK, this looks better." However, this morning I have been rushing around all morning doing school runs, making a few work calls, and trying to get back to the house to meet Fine & Country, only to find out the meeting was cancelled this morning, one hour before they were due to come. They sent an email and a text, but I didn't see them as I was in the car driving and talking to clients (hands-free), and I only saw the message when I pulled onto my drive 10 minutes before the meeting should have taken place. My argument is: why didn't they ring, instead of just relying on an email or a text? The customer service, for the level they pitch themselves at, is really poor. I tried to call the office, but guess what, back on to AI. I said I would like to make a complaint, and the AI told me I would receive a response in 3 working days... not the response I wanted. I asked to speak to a human, no transfers available. I managed to find the MD's mobile number, so I gave him a call to see why the service is so poor, and he told me the lady who should have come round is independent and doesn't work for Fine & Country. I said this isn't my problem, I booked the appointment with Fine & Country. If you want my advice, it's a smoke-and-mirrors company. AI, because they don't have real staff, or only a handful doing everything, and the people coming out are self-employed and probably wear a different badge on a different day. So annoyed they wasted my time today and didn't even bother to call, either the lady coming out, or the office, to say she couldn't make it.

Great service for selling

I sold my late parents' Suffolk house thru the Diss branch of F&C, and the service from Tom S, in particular, was exceptional. The initial consultation with Patrick gave me the confidence they would be the right agents to engage, they seemed honest and straightforward, with no hard selling or schmoozing. I was sent weekly progress reports, even when nothing was happening. The sale fell over a few times when our buyers lost their buyers, and F&C kept going with sensible guidance until we got there. It felt like we had a complex chain, but Tom doggedly chased everyone to keep it all going. They're not the cheapest agent, but I felt the service was great value, and I liked their decency and honesty. Also appreciated Tom's sense of humour! I would highly recommend this company. Thanks

First class service

Liz and Nicola from F&C Rugby provided a first class service throughout the process of selling my late father's house. They were very supportive and always happy to attend the premises, not just for viewings but when I needed to give other trades access (as I live 300 miles away) and in my opinion went above and beyond at every step. F&C were not the cheapest quote we had, but were worth every penny: their marketing was superb and quickly generated a lot of interest in the house (far more than we expected) which led to a good offer. They continued to be in close communication throughout the legal process, gave good advice, and diplomatically negotiated a couple of bumps in the process to ensure everything continued on track. Nothing was too much trouble - even helping to lift a stain out of the carpet which was discovered when the last of the furniture was moved out! I can't thank them enough for helping make an emotionally and logistically difficult process as smooth as possible.

Be Very Careful.

We decided to put our house on the market and in March 2025, we engaged Fine and Country, after a superbly polished pitch by one of their agents or should I say 'Associate Partner'. So good was the pitch that we looked no further and engaged the agent without checking other estate agents, that was our mistake. However, we were sold on Fine & Country's professionalism and knowledge of the market place for houses such as ours. We went ahead and paid Fine & Country £1250 to cover their companies marketing costs. Little did we know that the agent valued our house more than £1m over the actual market value, yes over £1m, let that sink in for a bit. The photographs and video of the house took two very long days, which was way over what we were told. When we eventually saw the online version of the brochure, which seemed to take forever and the delay was just a myriad of excuses, there were mistakes that would mislead any potential buyer. Several times we asked this to be changed but it wasn't. We never saw the finished printed version of the brochure that we were promised. We were introduced to Propelr, who were being heavily pushed at the time and thought, why not, it keeps it all under one roof. That seemed, in my opinion, a complete and utter waste of time, that cost us many hundreds of pounds and we received fairly useless correspondence back, just a large bill. This service seems to me to be unnecessary as you can all what they provide by just engaging your own solicitor, which would cost less. After a time, and not one potential buyer, no printed brochure, still trying correct errors in the marketing, we decided to go elsewhere, which wasted the important 'spring/summer' market. We felt that the flawless pitch and promises made to us were just not being met in any way. Only after we looked toward other estate agents did we realise the catastrophically bad and inaccurate valuation that we had been given by Fine & Country. Three different agents gave us a valuation of between £1.1m and £1.3m, Fine and Country's agent or should I say 'associate partner', gave us an initial valuation of £2.5m. We thought our home was worth around £1.2m to £1.5m, so were taken back at this valuation, but we thought that they were the professionals and knew about the market. However, we did reduced to £2.25 for marketing, thinking that was an incentive to any potential buyer. We put our trust and blind faith in Fine & Country and feel that was trashed with over pricing and inaccurate marketing, that cost us over £2000 with Fine & Country and Propelr's fees. So, we would not now, or ever in the future, consider any property to sell or buy, for that matter, that which has the Fine & Country name attached. Solely because of our experience I wonder how many properties are 'overpriced'. So be VERY careful, it was our fault that we didn't look at other valuations, but after such a superbly polished pitch, we were taken in. Please make sure you get other valuations, it could save you a lot of money.

I’ve dealt with this firm twice

I’ve dealt with this firm twice, both time they were found wanting. 1. They did an awful job of marketing my property 2. Today they were 2 hours late to drop the keys off at my daughters new property, this so called agent waltzed in opened the door said congratulations, no appology and then left, really poor service and to top it off she took the front door key with her. The 2 offices to avoid are Cardiff and Brecon I’d give them both of them a wide berth, can’t speak for the other offices though.

Thank you Fine & Country

Thank you Fine & Country, both Diss and Norwich Office. Kerry Cozens met us to view our property on her first day and was successful straight away! She was professional, courteous and very friendly. Then we were contacted by Julie Vassar, the aftersale manager. She coped admirably with a complex and difficult completion and exchange procedure, never losing her cool and being extremely supportive to us. Her exceptional people skills, professionalism and endless patience meant that she was always available. She liaised between us, the vendors, our solicitor and the vendor's solicitor with apparent ease and brought everything to a successful conclusion. Thanks again!

Outstanding service

Our experience with Fine and Country, Windermere has been outstanding, exceeding all of our high expectations. From our first meeting, Matt's expertise in the Lake District property market was apparent. He took the time to ensure our property was accurately valued and strategically marketed, giving us complete confidence that we were in capable hands. His skill in managing multiple offers and securing the best possible outcome made a real difference. The team at Fine and Country displayed remarkable professionalism and dedication. They were proactive, responsive, and kept us informed every step of the way. Calls and emails were answered promptly, viewings were expertly coordinated, and paperwork was handled swiftly. Their efficient approach resulted in multiple offers and a smooth, quick sale, all while minimising the stress on us. Special thanks to Janet at the Ambleside office, who was our main contact after we accepted an offer. Her diligence and calm problem-solving skills were essential during the closing stages, especially when unexpected issues arose. Her commitment made a significant impact on the ease and success of the entire process. Having dealt with many estate agents over the years, we feel incredibly fortunate to have chosen Fine and Country for this sale. Their commitment to our satisfaction and consistent hard work made this a uniquely positive experience. We would absolutely recommend Fine and Country, Windermere to anyone looking to sell their property; they truly go above and beyond.

We sold our house through Richard…

We sold our house through Richard Hughes from the Chester office of Fine & Country. From the very first meeting he exuded a calmness and professionalism. Due to dealing with someone from the Shrewsbury Fine & Country office for a purchase we wanted to make, the agent for which was totally useless, Richard asked whether we wanted a quick sale to meet the potential purchase and the sale price suggestion was considerably lower than we wanted to sell for. Undeterred, we were steered by Richard towards a sale in difficult times for our niche property and he secured a sale by first-class marketing and an excellent sales strategy relying on an open day. This master stroke negated the requirement for painful days upon days of cleaning and polishing, constraining us to only do this for the images and for the open day. F & C offered a consultation for staging the property through a partner company and the advice, included in the package, was invaluable in preparing the property for market.Richard made himself available at every step of the way to guide us in what always appeared to be the right direction for us, not him.All in, apart from the chap from Shrewsbury branch, a first-class experience and I would have no hesitation at all in recommending Richard Hughes to anyone thinking of selling their property.

Not the best service by far

Would I use F&C North Kent again? No. Would I recommend them? No.We used them because they were the agents for a property our daughter spotted in her village. We hadn't been thinking of moving, so we took them up on their offer of a slight discount: Christmas was coming and we didn't want to lose any time. They were absolutely clear that we were only moving to be near our daughter, and that we had to have 4 beds. and 2 baths. The first disappointments were how slow they were. We paid the £654 fee for the brochure but it took longer than we'd anticipated, due in no small part to the number of errors in the Drafts. The worst one was the location map they used; it showed us as being in a continuation of the lane which becomes our road. I explained that we are are definitely in X Rd. and not Y Lane. They 'corrected' the error by relocating our house a ½mile to the west! Never once did anyone ever apologise for the inefficiency, even when I commented that I felt that I should get a cut of the upfront fee for the time and trouble they were costing me. We didn't get the house we originally wanted and I gave a month's notice that we wouldn't be extending the contract. I was surprised when my daughter told me they were still marketing our house. I emailed all 3 email addresses and asked them to stop and to confirm that they had done do. They took it off their site but no one ever emailed me (I got 3 read receipts so I hoped that I would)I gave it 2 stars because Sarah was so good. But I've just remembered that when we finally got the brochure, there was quite a big error in it

It just gets worse....

This is my third attempt at resolving the situation. Having been contacted by the local agent last Thursday and accepting responsibility via phone, he kindly agreed to go away and consider a contribution towards the invoice. I was feeling positive that a wrong was going to be put right. Having incurred a bill of £1,000 as a direct result of being let down by Fine & Country, I received an email today offering a £250 contribution to the bill, on the condition that I remove my 1 star review. An absolute insult. I simply asked that the wrong doing was rectified and that the bill was settled, following agreement that Fine & Country were at fault. The email goes on to state that a 1 star review is damaging for the business... I had no hot water nor heat in winter with a young daughter .... Fine & Country you need to shine a light on your ethical practice.
