Nothing was too much trouble and Janet and Emily were extremely helpful in guiding us through the whole process and in particular in presenting the house for the photographs and also viewings. They continued their excellent customer service once we had sold (which was within three weeks) by proactively keeping us updated at every step of the way from the top to the bottom of the chain. We can't thank them enough and can highly recommend them without hesitation.

GoogleHad a property viewing with Richard himself who was quite rude and short. Didn’t seem interested or invested himself and made me feel like I was a waste of his time.
Not to mention he didn’t know the answers to any queries I had when viewing the property. Even basic questions such as EPC and tax code. He had no clue. I had to wait over a day for such basic answers. (Which I had already found out by this point by doing a simple google search and investigation on the government web page).
When initially asking for a viewing, I selected the option ‘request a viewing’ to which Richard then replied to with ‘I assume you want a viewing?’. No professionalism in his manner or approach and also evidently ignoring the fact that I had requested a viewing in my enquiry.
Emailing was like talking to a brick wall. No response unless multiple emails were sent. My fiancé had to call the office just to get a response at one point. This happened on two occasions.
Then I tried to contact once again to view the property again but this time with my fiancé. No response. So I call the office. Again. Then I’m told they DID get my email (decided to ignore me evidently) and that they’re actually going to give it to someone else. Once again, no communication regarding this.
Considering we are a family, with a baby, it would have been good to know sooner when someone else was interested rather than stringing us along.
In hindsight, I should have known in the first instance when Richard was rather rude, unprofessional and absent.
I would not recommend this ‘company’ to anyone.

We notice that some details have been omitted from your comments and do not show a true reflection. We can see that you contacted our office for a viewing of a rental property and you were responded to that same day. The appointment was made for that same week.
Questions were asked on the viewing and these were followed up by an email which was responded to within 24 hours. We provided you with reference forms, for if you wanted to proceed and checked in with you shortly after to ensure these had arrived with you to which you responded ‘I entirely forgot to reply, sorry!’. You explained that some details needed to be ironed out with your current landlord and would be in touch once this had been sorted.
A week passed until you were in touch again to ask to review so your partner could look at the property himself.
On your first viewing, it was explained that we had a lot of interest in the property and in the week of you not providing your completed references, a prospective tenant had applied for the property. Unfortunately we cannot hold a rental property for a week on your behalf and so the property become unavailable in this time.
We apologise for any inconvenience this caused. Our team all work impeccably hard, making many sacrifices and so your comments are very hurtful for an independent company.

GoogleWe rented via Richard Lowth for 3+ years. We initially heard some bad reviews about them, however they were always polite to us so decided to go ahead. Fast forward to leaving our tenancy and we are extremely dissatisfied with how we have been treated. Janet has been extremely rude to us since the moment we moved out, they have tried to keep the majority of the deposit we put down. We have had to go through the deposit protection scheme to get our deposit back. The deposit protection scheme sided with us and we now have the deposit we asked for back. Janet tried to charge us £600 to have the house cleaned and stated it would cost £160 to have the grass cut? When we decided to go through the deposit protection scheme she put the prices of her original quotes down. She stated she wouldn’t talk to us in person about this as we weren’t tenants anymore. I have never been spoke to by an adult the way Janet spoke to us. We were blamed for leaving curtains up, curtains which we put back up as they were there when we arrived, for there being fingerprints on the light switches when we left, the list was endless. I would not recommend that anyone rent through this company.

Your review of our company is both unfair and unjustified.
Our relationship during your tenancy has always been positive, with you waving a ‘hello’ every time you went past our office. Jobs you’d requested had always been completed in a timely manner with no complaints received.
A check out list was provided to you to ensure a smooth handover, giving you pointers on what areas we’d be looking at. The condition which you left the property, therefore, was solely your responsibility. Unfortunately it was returned in a poor and unclean condition and we cannot be held accountable for any necessary deductions which were required. If the property had been left in a better condition or some attempt to clean or maintain the garden was noted, your deposit would have been returned in full which unfortunately for yourselves, ended up not being the case.
All communications at the end of your tenancy was with your partner and at no point have we had an animosity. We did advise that communication was to be via email only, not because you were no longer tenants, but to keep everything documented and to ensure dialogue was kept clear.
I hope this helps and hopefully will ensure you return any future rental properties back in a better condition than the one on this occasion.

FacebookOnce again Richard and his family provided a superb 5* service from start to finish. Richard sold our property for us 7 years ago and did a fantastic job so when it was time for us to move on again there was never any question about who we'd use. This time around I'd say that the service was even better with the permanent addition of the lovely Emily to the team! We all thought that it would be a relatively quick and pain-free sale again but circumstances out of our control meant that the chain below us collapsed twice before we finally achieved a successful sale. Richard and the team were always happy to spend as much time as we needed advising and guiding us through the frustrating times. Sometimes all we needed was a vent and Richard and Emily were always there to lend a sympathetic ear - we truly felt that they shared both the highs and the lows with us and really cared about the outcome!! Richards knowledge of the local property market is second to none and is something that is gained only by sheer passion and many years of historical experience of the local estate agency 'game'. Our purchase property was via a private sale but, again, Richards time, knowledge and realistic advice was invaluable on this side too even though he wasn't an acting agent on the property. We trust the Lowths implicitly (which is not something often said about estate agents!!) and would recommend them to anyone wishing to buy/ sell their home.
