We are super pleased with the service we have always received from Home Counties Estate Agents Ltd, especially with Richard with whom we have worked with now on several occasions. We first used Home Counties back in 2019 when we were purchasing our first home in Potters Bar. Richard kept us informed throughout the process, was always accommodating with multiple visits to the property, and supported us throughout the whole process. We recently engaged Richard again as we wanted our house re-valued under current market conditions. Again, Richard was extremely accommodating, visiting us at short notice, and promptly giving us a valuation. We have built trust in our relationship with Richard and Home Counties, who we feel are genuine and honest in their approach to helping their clients buy/sell homes. It can be a stressful process moving/selling, but having an experienced, well established, and honest team working for you is invaluable. We have, and will continue to recommend them to our friends & family as great estate agents. Thank you Richard and the team at Home Counties Estate Agents.

When I enquired about a property’s asking price and the seller’s position, I was met with terse, dismissive replies from the female agent I spoke to on the phone - a remarkably unhelpful attitude towards a serious buyer. I decided to proceed with the viewing regardless, but communication remained poor throughout. Afterwards, I submitted a formal offer, which was completely ignored. I never received any confirmation or follow-up, and it appeared my offer may not even have been passed to the vendors - which, if true, would be a breach of legal duty. The overall experience suggested a lack of basic organisation, professionalism, and integrity. For sellers, that should be alarming; for buyers, it’s simply exasperating. I would strongly advise caution when dealing with this agency.

Rented a house through agent at this agency. Landlord claimed we didn't clean her house before vacating it... we did..we offered to re-clean the areas she highlighted ( i.e. 1 hair in a kitchen drawer .. some water drips on a kitchen cabinet). We offered to clean the week after we moved out. Landlord claimed there was no one to let the cleaner in BUT THE BUILDERS WERE THERE DAILY FOR ABOUT A MONTH carrying out extensive refurbishment and re-decorating works. Bizarrely Landlord gave us a date to re-clean after the builders finished their work and when the house was full of dust and builder debris. Then the landlord demanded my cleaner clean the whole house! The case went to TDS appeal and the agent supported her friend the Landlord who is a GP ! Absolutely disgraceful.. would never use them again!!!!

June 2022. I took out an agreed 8 week contract with the owner Richard Lowry, which I believed to be confidential, and firmly expressed that there was to be no communication with any other members of the Family, which he understood, and we even had a password to confirm I was phoning. Not long into the contract I found that information was being discussed with other members of my family without my permission causing me a lot of difficulties. Checking with Samantha in the office who informed me that herself and Cassie had been talking to my Family and that there must have been some kind of miscommunication within the office (So much for confidentiality and communication). I was told that Richard would be phoning me to discuss this matter of confidentiality.........I am still awaiting(So much for Professionalism). Would I use again NO Would I recommend definitely NO

Hi Joanne A family feud with us caught in the middle. I must say I am very surprised at this review as we spoke many times after you raised your concern over the team talking with your family, and you even came into the office to hand me the key on completion ? We listed the property for sale, and we received a call from a family member, simply asking that we remove a portrait in the living room, as it showed a family member that had passed away, so we did, we then called and informed you. You then came up with the password for when we receive calls ? We carried out an open day, and the property was advertised as an open day with a date for the open day, then we received a call on the Monday after, from what sounded like a potential buyer, asking us how the open day went, in which we responded that it was successful and we was in the process of getting feedback and expecting offers, it was then revealed to us it was another family member enquiring. When you raised your concerns over what was being said to family members, Cassie resolved this with you, and we spoke many times from this point on. I am sorry to hear that you felt dissatisfied with the service

I genuinely can not recommend Richard and his team strongly enough. After several months having our property up for sale with the more ‘established’ estate agents, to no avail, we decided a fresh approach was needed. From the very first meeting with Richard his professionalism, knowledge and likeability shone through and we had no hesitation in instructing his services. Within a few weeks we had interest and offers and I have no doubt this was through the quality of service and knowledge offered by Home Counties. I would happily recommend them to anyone, they go above and beyond, kept us informed throughout the process and more than justified their fee.

We had experience with other Estate Agents in Potters Bar previously without much joy and considerable frustration. And then we found Richard! What a difference, Richard is professional in the true sense of the word: Richard gave clear and insightful advise from the beginning showing an excellent understanding of the local area, the housing market and the economy nationally. He took control of a long and difficult chain, remained cool throughout and radiated a positive energy which took us to completion. Richard smoothed the way for everyone along the chain with heart and dignity and honestly I don't think we would have made it without him. Richard is an intelligent and sensitive negotiator and a lovely guy. Richard is a thoroughly modern man and was always contactable through email, text and phone well into the late evening which was brilliant and made all the difference. Richard is a first rate Estate Agent and human being, he deserves the highest praise and recommendation. Nadia and Mary

I recently sold a property thru Richard and his team at Home Counties. It was an easy, pleasant experience,- from start to finish and the property sold quickly and for slightly above asking price. Very happy with everything. The only negative thing I could say is that he's ginger, I don't normally deal with gingers, but you cant have everything can you ?

Home Counties are really like no other estate agent. They were polite, courteous, good at communicating and most of all they were HONEST which can’t be said for some other estate agents. Big thanks to Cassie. Would definitely go with Home Counties again whether I am buying or selling.

Very unprofessional and unbelievably fake estate agents. We were the first to see the property and we agreed to the full asking price with 60% cash and 40% mortgage. Then a couple of days later we called Samantha to pass our solicitors details but she said that we had to increase our offer, and we did so. But she planned and sold the property at a lower price to her contacts.NegativeResponsiveness, Quality, Professionalism, Value

This is completely untrue, you had to arrange a let to buy mortgage plus a purchase mortgage so two mortgages, we received multiple bids on the home, so we acted in the best interest of our client, and the home went to sealed bids, and we achieved over £5000 on top of the asking price.

Don't be fooled by the smiling faces of these people, they are frauds. They deducted half of my rent deposit with unnecessary and ridiculous excuses and didn't give it back. Don't trust these people.

Richard and team changed my perception of Estate Agents, really helpful, supportive and always at the other end of the phone. Not only did they get my house sold but they provided very efficient after sale support above and beyond what I expected. Would recommend fully.

Richard and Tom both offer a highly professional service and I felt confident that they were working in my best interests to secure the best possible price for the property I was selling. They are both extremely knowledgeable and not at all pushy in the way I have come to expect from dealing with other estate agents in the past. I was delighted with the level of service they provided and would have no hesitation whatsoever in terms of recommending them to other potential vendors in the Potters Bar area. I will definitely use them again

Hassle free purchase of property and subsequent follow up by sourcing a tenant in double quick time. Both Richard and Tom are a pleasure to work with. Their knowledge of the local are is second to none and they both offered an excellent and flexible level of service tailored to individual scenarios. I cannot stress enough the positive difference local independent agents make whether you are buying, selling or renting!

I recently sold a house through Home Counties and was very impressed with the hassle free service. Tom in particular went above and beyond what I would expect from an estate agent, arranging for a tree surgeon to carry out some small works and regularly checking on the property as it was empty for a period of time. I would definitely recommend Home Counties Estate Agents.
