Rebecca Luke - the lettings manager at Fox and Sons at St Budeaux, Plymouth always delivers on every level. She is a real professional in her field of tenancy arrangements, has been finding tenants for my flat since August 2019 and her ability to match the tenant with the property and the landlord is impeccable. She is the most capable matchmaker when it comes to humans and properties. Rebecca is always available online, on the phone or face-to-face. She never leaves me alone if I have concerns but makes sure I get a reply ASAP. Rebecca knows how to solve any unpredictable issues but normally predicts everything beforehand to avoid the unexpected. She is very organised, very good at time management, tackles everything had-on and never leaves things unattended. She is very fair with landlords and always on the side of the tenants. Rebecca does everything to make sure Landlord and tenant are always equally satisfied. She thinks and plans before she acts and achieves the desired outcome. She takes time to get acquainted with the tenants and landlords to find the perfect contract for all the parties. Rebecca is never unsure - she always knows what is the next step to take, she has everything perfectly planned and executes it all perfectly in a team with a landlord and tenant. The mortgage advisor is THE BEST!

I cannot recommend Daniel the mortgage advisor enough!! He has helped us so so SO much over the past few months with our everchanging situation and he always supported us in the kindest, most knowledgeable and understanding ways. His advice was so invaluable and he was always quick to come back with whatever we needed. For someone who doesn't really understand all this technical mortgage stuff, he was extremely patient and good at explaining things. They came along a few days ago, promising to “work on a valuation” that same afternoon, but not a peep out of them since. Very disappointing considering the number of times they rang to arrange a viewing!

Hassle free sale of our home , sold in 4 weeks , property was on with pcm for 8 months I approached fox and sons they said they would do there best to sell in 4 weeks and they did , very happy with the service , I was congratulated immediately once I accepted an offer , very close to asking price I must thank Callum , Alex and Charles they have been very very helpful and always replied quickly to my calls and e mails , I used fox and Sons 22 years ago to buy the house and I had great service then and I just wish I had asked them before asking pcm as the house would of been sold months ago , but today I am very happy it’s finally sold with the professional company they are Ken Press

No stars would be more accurate

Edit: The service got even worse once we'd left. The Company left me with a number of examples where I had to contact Utility companies, because they lied about our Moving out date. I then found myself having to explain to several people that we had moved out in October 2019, not January 2020. This took several hours over many months. My credit rating was apparently affected, because I didn't know I was being left with bills that I shouldn't have. I would welcome any member of the company to contact me to discuss just how bad they were. I very rarely have the need to write a poor review of anyone, but I've never come across such an air of apathy from a company. At the start, they were very pleasant, and made a load of promises to get work done before we moved in. The house was filthy, and their representative (Mr Evans) promised my wife that a load of cleaning would be done. The garden would be tidied up, holes in the walls would be filled. The excess furniture would be removed. On arrival on the day we moved, nothing was done. My wife was extremely upset (Rancid milk ground into all the carpets downstairs, thick film of grease and filth in the kitchen, dirty toilets and bathroom. Cooker filthy and not working, Garden was a mess, Furniture that should have been removed was still there, etc etc. This was not vaguely dirty, but FILTHY) My wife contacted the Company Representative, who did nothing. When I eventually complained further up the chain, it was turned around so that it was our fault for not formally requesting that stuff be done. The flippancy of the lady that dealt with the complaint was beyond contempt. When I make a promise that is something will be done, when I'm representing my Company, I make sure it is done. This was definitely not the case with Fox And Sons. Having moved out, we now find that we are likely to lose a large portion of our Security Deposit because they are now blaming us for damage that was caused long before we had moved in. We are rather relieved to have now moved out, and even more relieved that we will never have to deal with this company again. There are many estate Agents, and Letting agents that work extremely hard for their clients. This isn't one of them. I expect my Secure Deposit to be taken from us, as it would appear that their primary objective is to take as much as they can from the market. Exactly as expected, we have been blamed for long term neglect and damage to the property that were there long before we moved in. We have photographs from the week we moved in, and will process an appeal, but I fully expect that it will be ignored. If truth be told, all we want now is to move forward and not have to deal with these people ever again. As the title says, NO STARS would be a more accurate appraisal.

Bad is not enough to define and…

Bad is not enough to define and describe the service provided by Fox and Sons in Western Road. They use all the resources they have in hand to make money at the expense of tenants.When we left the apartment, they sent a company to carry out the check out and they claimed money for "damages" that already existed when we moved in (but they did not mention in the check in report). As a way of example, they wanted to charge us £185 for an allegedly damaged skirting in the living room. Well, this was only the result of an existing structural crack in the wall that made its way to the skirting. This coupled with other reasons that were rejected by a dispute ending up in me and my wife wasting time on the dispute and getting my deposit back 3 months later. On top of that, when we moved in and because we were starting new jobs, we had to pay 6 month in advance plus deposit. We made it clear that we only wanted to be on a 6-month contract and after go on a rolling contract. Well guess what? we paid to secure the apartment and when we got the contract is was a 6-month contract subject to a minimum additional 6-month contract. They do not care about tenants!! Stay away from them if you are renting!!!

As in former reviews stated:All what counts for “Fox and sons” is money.After paying agency fees and deposit they stopped caring for us.With living in a flat which is mouldy and damp for over a year now, it is more than obvious that they’re NOT interested in solving the KNOWN problems.One room can’t even be used anymore.As we’re moving soon it becomes quite clear that the flat will only be re-decorated to sell it overpriced.My husbands health problems increased massively through the mould and damp.When it came out that there is an insurance with a certain company they even expected us to lie, that no other companies were involved.That is fraud!!! Although former tenants had the same problems and even got the Council involved, nothing happened.Fox and sons Maintainance company is useless simultaneously!

Thank you all at fox and sons for your hard work. Especially Scott that have takene thought the process smoothly and was very responsive to questions I had. I have recomended him to all of my friends. I went from thinking I might start looking for a house in few months to meeting Scott, finding a home I love, getting mortgage confirmation in 3 weeks. As a result I will pay 20% less a month than what I paid for rent for the past 10years. Scott is exceptionally responsove and experienced, really can't thank him enough.

I first found Fox+Sons late one day, when I phoned around all the lettings agents in Plymouth. Laura Bradley was the only agent still answering, working late, still open for business and that says it all really. I signed up there and then because I was so impressed. She has a 'can do' attitude to every question, and is well experienced in her job. She has a great team, and they work hard and efficiently to provide a great lettings service.

Pleasant staff but I had a poor experience. They recommend Conveyancing Direct. My file was passed to 4 different solicitors. That led to my purchase falling through and my sale left uncompleted.CD say they're based in Hastings, even the number on the phone is that number. In truth, my solicitors were based in Cardiff.My £1000 deposit was voided when I was gazzumped. F&S refused to get it back. So I did it. At the end, F&S even refused to deliver my spare keys (0.6 miles from their shop). 'We're not a delivery service'. At times they spelt my name wrong and basically failed to neither get the sale nor my prurcase over the line in time. So I stayed put.They distanced themselves from CD and said it wasn't their fault.£2000 out of pocket, no apologies...
