GoogleWe recently worked with Hathaway's Estate Agents and couldn’t be happier with the service from start to finish. The team are knowledgeable, proactive and genuinely care about getting the best result for their clients. Communication was clear and consistent throughout, and we always felt informed and supported at every stage of the process. What really stood out was their personal approach. You deal with the same people throughout.

GoogleGenuinely the worst experience I have ever had with an estate agent. We lived in squalor for the first 2 weeks as cleaning and renovations hadn’t been organised for between tenancies leaving the place full of mould and dust. Lived with a hole in the roof for the entire tenancy despite being promised a fix on day 1. Every repair we needed throughout the tenancy was either completed late or shoddily or both including for critical repairs such as leaks. Every bare minimum part of the job of managing the property wasn’t met. Hathaways were so bad at their job the owner of the property fired them from their contract prematurely.
Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. Just to clarify, we experienced ongoing difficulties working with the owner across their four properties and ultimately made the decision to withdraw from acting for them. We were not dismissed. The owner had instructed us to serve notice on all tenants and to hold off carrying out any works until the properties were vacant, as they intended to renovate. Given the circumstances and the direction we were being asked to follow, we felt it was no longer appropriate for us to continue managing the portfolio. Throughout this period, at that point the landlords took over management, and I believe to save face with their tenants informed you, we were the problem, We met with you a number of times at our office and did our best to offer guidance and support wherever we could. GoogleEveryone at Hathaways has been exceptionally helpful, knowledgeable about the properties, the area, the demand for housing in Oxford, and very responsible on queries and going the extra mile to make the process smooth, fuss free, friction-free with the seller. As a buyer we wanted to see lots of properties, and have our eyes open to understand any issues not just the desirable selling points, Hathaways were open about pluses and possible minuses/issues (e.g. upcoming planning applications, changes to an area) quickly understanding what our wants (and dreams) were for a house, knowledgeable about the difficulties of chains, and how competitive the market is in Oxford. Oli went out of his way to liaise with the seller and recommend removal companies, etc. It always felt we could get hold of a member of the team quickly and get a response, either popping in person in the office or on the phone. We are very happy to move in, thanks to Hathawys, both sets of solicitors and the seller.

GoogleA great agency, particularly I have been dealing today with Oliver who is a fantastic agents. Oliver went over and above to register my details and even though I did not have a big budget took time to explain the local market to me. Other agents in the area hardly even wanted to talk to me. Would recommend them anytime.

GoogleHathaways are by far the best estate agent we have ever used - It’s been a welcome change to have an agent who’s on your team and would do anything they can to help. We chose to sell through Hathaways as they had the best local knowledge. We had a good number of viewings, sold within a week, for the price we wanted, off-market and all for a very competitive fee, But they really stood out as fantastic agents during the conveyancing period. Our own sale (via Hathaways) conveyancing went quickly and smoothly, but we had a number of issues further up the chain. Oliver Barker worked tirelessly on our onward purchase (despite it not being the sale they were directly acting on); speaking to us and our buyers every day, as well as 4 sets of solicitors, management agents and estate agents further up the chain, even one in-person trip to Wales to help with a particularly non-responsive solicitor and arranging temporary accommodation for our buyers when there were delays. We definitely took up a lot of Ollie’s time and energy, but he would always happily pick up the phone to us and immediately get in the car/on the phone to whoever he needed to speak to to help, without complaint, time and time again, and without him and Hathaways experience and help, I doubt we would have ever got to buy our forever home!

GoogleHathaways have recently taken on our rental apartment in The Garden Quarter on a monthly management basis and found us new tenants with no void period. Liam has communicated promptly and clearly at all stages and gone above and beyond by helping out with an electrical issue that needed fixing before the new tenants moved in. I look forward to an easy relationship with them as they take over the responsibilities of looking after the tenants and handling any issues that might arise.
