We have had 2 bad experiences in the last 6 months. The first having arranged to view a property in the Town & they were late by 20 mins with no call to warn us. I had to call to leave a message. We left, fed up with waiting, without viewing the property. The following experience was even worse. We viewed a property in East Street, Olney. We expressed very positive interest to the Lady showing us around & mentioned we would return with a Builder. We asked to be kept in touch with other expressions of interest. Imagine our deep disappointment when on calling back to arrange a second viewing with a Builder only to be told the Property had been sold ! At now point did they get back to us. The Property was still listed for Sale on Rightmove & on their own website. Nobody had thought fit to make contact with us !! Poor communication and service!

Thanks to all the Team at Stephen Oakley who helped me to secure a sale on my property. David was great and with me every step of the way, even with the loss of one sale he picked it up again and got my house back on the market and secured another sale which completed relatively easily. I would thoroughly recommend using this local agency., very professional and friendly with a lot of local knowledge. I am looking forward to doing business again with them in the future when I come to purchase a house. In the meantime renting through Stephen Oakley has been a pleasure!

This is the 2nd review I have written as the 1st has been removed. Possibly as someone thought it was too positive and must have been a fake review - it wasn't. Within the past 18 months we have used Stephen Oakley estate agents to buy and sell a property in Olney. Throughout the process of both transactions they have been exceptional. David Berry was the agent we used. What we were impressed by was the honesty, local knowledge, ease of communication and problem solving. Our recent sale hit a few snags (through no fault of anyone) but David gripped up the issues quickly and saved the sale from falling through. At all stages we David would keep us updated without us having to chase or hear excuses. We would only every use Stephen Oakley if buying or selling in the Olney area again. Outstanding professional service.

I have called 4 times today over the period of an hour and a half to view a property and all I have got is a recorded voice saying that this was an extension number and then a beep! No idea if I could then leave a message or even if it was Stephen Oakley. Also no message ref another number I could ring or any kind of forwarding system to a mobile. This is on a Saturday when I would have expected at least someone to be in the office or some system in place to divert the call!

Email I sent to Stephen Oakley & Co following a phone call to them today: I called and spoke to someone (male) in your office today regarding a couple of properties in Olney for sale. Unfortunately I was supposed to know what SSTC meant on the picture on your website, which I didn't. Maybe if I'd been living in the UK for the past 30 years I would know. I'd like to suggest you make it clearer for your clients/investors what SSTC means, perhaps write it in full... Also, I was surprised by the abrupt way I was dealt with on the phone by your male staff member. And even more surprised that he didn't take my details and more information on what I am looking for. Not conducive to your sales bottom line. This experience has certainly not endeared me to your organisation. I suggest you review call handling procedures in-light of my experience.

Not a recommendation directly to a sale etc or anything but I just wanted to say a big Thankyou to the lovely Zara. I was in Olney with a client I care for, who lived in Olney for a very long time before having to live within care now. It was his first visit since he had left and he was adamant he needed to go to the estate agents. He experiences symptoms of dementia and wanted to buy a house. The lovely zara took time out of her day to welcome us in and have a chat with him. It made his day! Thankyou ever so much once again. I’m sure we will see you again soon.

The most appalling service by an incompetent, unhelpful and rude man. Ben has zero interpersonal skills, took a holding deposit without considering our move in date. Despite the place being empty and ‘available when references are completed’. In asking for basic things like a clean and some things fixed and for clarity over a moving in date he said ‘I’m in two minds to put this back on the market’. To say that to someone already who is already stressed because of moving, when they have done nothing wrong simply requesting the most basic reasonable things is nothing short of bullying. Avoid this agency like the plague. In the end we took his offer of giving us back the holding deposit not because we didn’t like the house or the landlord (she seemed very reasonable) but because there was no chance we were entering into a contract with such an incompetent and rude agent.
