GoogleWe have used Marcus Jordan in various capacities from "tenant find" to "full management" to using some of their tradespeople.
Having been a Landlord for 15 years, with multiple properties, and a Letting agent for six months we inevitably came across a Landlord's worst nightmare. Structural damage began to be caused directly and indirectly by the tenant, along with irrational demands and breaches of the tenancy.
Marcus Jordan took over full management of the problematic property quickly, despite knowing what they were going to have to deal with. The abusive phone calls by the tenant were time consuming as was standing tradespeople up and down on a whim. Trying to negotiate with a tenant for the structural damage took time when poverty was pleaded. Resulting in the landlord paying for the damage to be fixed if a monthly repayment plan was agreed. This was breached by the tenant.
Will was available for long conversations along with the maintenance department, headed up by Ben, on the management of the situation. Marcus Jordan gave clear guidelines, in a timely manner, as to what had to be done to bring the property back to the move in inventory on move out. Ben worked tirelessly to deliver an objective outcome and put together a full case for the DPS's arbitration team. The photographic evidence, report and invoices submitted by Ben resulted in the DPS ruling against the tenant. After various trades were organised the property was re-let.
I have always found Marcus Jordan to be respectful, understanding and communicative. There will always be three sides to every story.

(And I’ve moved a few times) they were so friendly and helpful and at a time when I’m trying to recover from an adverse credit history, they were completely understanding and didn’t make me feel at all judged unlike other agents I’ve used previously. I made changes a few times and it was never a hassle for them. They took everything in their stride. After moving in I reported a noise with the heating and they had an engineer out in less than 24 hours. I’ve asked them to get my landlords permission to have fibre installed for internet and again I had it by the same afternoon. Basically I’ve been nothing but a headache and they have been incredible throughout. I have my dream home now so I hope I don’t have to move again but if I did I’d 100% use these guys. Thank you

GoogleThey act nice up front but will screw you over at every opportunity once moved in.
False claims and evidence were submitted to the DPS following the end of my tenancy resulting in my losing the entirety of my deposit after a 1 year tenancy, despite the house being returned in a clean and well maintained condition.
They took over 5 months to replace my front door after it was mistakenly broken down by police, I was forced to pay the bill or else be left with a flimsy sheet of chipboard covering the door.
The checkout inspection was conducted with Ben present, and the things he pointed out were cleaned as requested. Despite this I was stuck with nearly £700 in cleaning fees. Ben also mocked and belittled me on several occasions due to my mental health issues.

But unfortunelly, regardless of how good some letting agents are, some tricky landlords constantly challenge honest hard working people for their rights as tenants, to achieve the ultimate profitability, squabbling for crumbs even when it does not sound reasonable. Some still think they live in the era of the lords and pheasants.

GoogleWe rented house that was managed by Marcus Jordan for the last 7 years. Myself, my wife and our 3 children in a 4 bed house in Olney. We cannot praise Will and the team enough, as their service has been second to none. If there was ever an issue it was always sorted promptly and we were always informed with progress. They really take the stress out of having to organise the trades as they do everything for you. We also felt they always took time to understand our situation and requirements and acted fairly in the interests of both landlord and tennant. I would highly recommend Will and his team and would have no issues renting through them again.

GoogleI booked an appointment to view a property with Ryan. He confirmed I was the first to book an appointment. I showed up ten minutes early to a Friday 9am appointment and waited twenty-five minutes. I then left a message with Marcus Jordan & Co to call me back when no one showed, leaving my mobile twice in the voicemail. I never got a call back that day. I tried calling three times again in the afternoon (it was exactly the type of property I'd been waiting for!!) but no one picked up the phone.
On the Monday I called again and I was told that I was wrong that I got no notification of the cancellation and that I had to have received an SMS or a call because it's "what they do". When I booked a new appointment, they discovered that they had used the Rightmove phone number instead of the one I'd given them. I received no apology for their mistake.
The second appointment was cancelled (the next Friday at 3pm) as Marcus Jordan had booked viewings, but had not secured a key to the property (!!!). I then booked an appointment for the following Monday at 9am and received an SMS at 08:56, as I was waiting in the drive, that the place had been let agreed.
As I had to post something in Olney that morning anyway, I went to the office to provide feedback in the hopes that it would help others avoid the experience I had. I spoke with a Sarah who stated she was the manager. To her it was normal to use an 0300 number to text people, and talked over me when I suggested that the number I'd given wasn't used. She continued this way, defending her team, when I brought up other points, not letting me finish.
People make mistakes, there are things that happen unexpectedly, but I feel that they failed to handle this reasonably. Marcus Jordan clearly feels differently.

Thank you for your review. We would firstly like to hugely apologise for the situation that occurred whilst trying to arrange a viewing at one of our properties. From the outset, we made you aware that we were experiencing problems gaining access to the property in question, as this was fully explained to all interested parties. Clearly there had been some confusion with regards to the contact numbers on our appointment listing and I have discussed this with all members of staff here at Marcus Jordan & Co. We currently have a mobile number on file, which you have confirmed as your own and this certainly would have been used after the initial error to contact you.
Ryan had previously submitted an application to the landlord that was received over 10 days ago, however this application could not be secured until the applicants had viewed the property, which was Saturday 15th September. Following Saturdays viewing the applicants did in fact confirm they wished to move forward with their application and after a conversation with the landlord we were instructed to proceed. Ryan did not receive notification regarding this confirmation until yesterday evening and this was picked up first thing this morning, Monday 17th September. Ryan then tried to make contact with yourself to discuss the landlords decision.
We have since spoken with the landlord regarding the situation and he has confirmed that he still would like to proceed with the application previously received and has requested no further viewings to be done. We appreciate your frustrations and apologise that your experience with Marcus Jordan & Co has not been the experience we pride ourselves in delivering to both existing and prospective tenants.

GoogleOnce you are in the house very little help is given. They will tell you an items in the post or somebody will be attending the property to make a repair. they lied all the time regarding timescales. We were left without hot water on many occasions. Probably something to do with the fact that the boiler wasn't serviced correctly for over a year. We then had to fight to get any of our deposit back. Completely unreasonable given the service.

GoogleThey let a property to me illegally as light bulbs were not fitted. Furthermore, NONE of the work requested on property prior to tenancy was carried out before I moved in. I ended up having to do most of it myself. Maintenance issues were not dealt with in the timeframe outlined on the agreement throughout my tenancy. They also lied to the landlord and told them work had been carried out when it hadn’t. Not realising I was in direct contact with the landlord’s handyman.
After vacating, the team had the cheek to try and take as much of my deposit off me as possible despite leaving the place immaculate.
I’ve let over 15 different properties, and always received my full deposit back until now. They actually charged £60 for a tiny smudge on a wall which isn’t even noticeable on photos. Who’s your call out painter and decorator? Picasso?NegativeResponsiveness, Quality, Professionalism

GoogleIf you want to rent a property from agents that do not bother or care
about the tenant once they have got you signed up and living in one of the properties are rude , leave you with toilets that have rising excrement or damp in walls and rooms after reporting it numerous times being told lies about it being 'fixed etc'and having appointments made and not kept.....then these are your people to deal with!!
