Trustpilot0 stars
0 stars, I would not rate these at all. Kings lynn branch not so bad, but wisbech branch, they cost me my house sale, they cost me my house purchase, and strung me along wasting my time for weeks and as others have stated they really didnt care about poor service. They just then ignore you. Really the worst service ever, use another firm and good luck purchasing something they list, and you'll never get a response from thier mortgage broker.

TrustpilotI have been gazumped
I have been gazumped, put an offer in on a house and started all the wheels turning with mortgage brokers, solicitors and surveyors only to have a call saying another buyer has offered more. I completely accept that someone might have offered more money but it is horrible practice to tell someone they have had an offer accepted only to tell them THE DAY AFTER that the situation has changed. Would not be surprised if the only reason this person has offered more is because the agent called them and told them our offer had been accepted to pressure them to offer more. Appalling. I have heard stories from others with William H Brown too.

TrustpilotUnprofessional and rude
Unprofessional and rude. No estate agent turned up for the first property I arranged to view - wasn’t told they wouldn’t be in attendance. I then rang up to arrange a viewing on another property and was told my the estate agent ‘this is cash buyer only sorry’ - how did he know I wasn’t a cash buyer?! Also the ad online didn’t say cash buyers only & It turns out the property wasn’t for cash buyers only! Found this very rude. I kept being offered a mortgage appointment to which I declined on numerous occasions. Even though I declined, I received an email for an appointment that was set up with their mortgage broker and I had to ring back to cancel. Would not recommend!

TrustpilotTerrible business practices
I'm so disappointed with my first experience of William H Brown. After placing an offer on a house I heard nothing back from the agent. I called three times and was promised a call back. I'm not convinced the offer was placed. The best part? On the second call the very person who showed me around the property had no recollection of who I was but was very happy to remind me I had a mortgage appointment booked. What terrible business practice. I feel sorry for people who are buying a house for the first time and have to navigate being treated in this way.

TrustpilotNegative experience with Stevenage branch.
I recently dealt with the Stevenage office when trying to purchase a property, but ultimately had to pull out after the building was found to have failed fire safety tests.I wasn't informed of this potential issue, even though the report was prepared several months before it was made known to me by my solicitor. Once I raised it with William H Brown, the branch manager was extremely unresponsive and evasive.I would certainly avoid using this business in the future, because the lack of transparency and responsiveness is unprofessional and I think it reflects poorly on their trustworthiness.

TrustpilotDirty game being played on the property market
Honestly saying they playing extremely unfair and PLAYING EXTREMLY DIRTY game by not not removing sold properties from the market just to get new lead offering alternative solutions ( properties ) to potential buyers . It is the 4th time that we find a property advertised on Rightmove and it turned out it has been already SOLD between 6 months and 1.5 year ago and WilliamH Brown still DO NOT WITHDRAW properties from the market after being SOLD using it as a tactic to acquire new clients they call for organising a viewing . Terrible ... extremely dirty approach ! Are they calling themselves leaders ?

TrustpilotDirty arrogant agent!
Just had a phone call from William H Brown headquarter. The caller was very rude and arrogant then keep asking why we sell our house.None of his business! Even they are not our estate agent any more!We tried to sell our property with them but almost no viewing for 7 months so we stop their contract. The local WHB blanch was pretty corrupted and strongly connect with local investors so WHB kept asking drop our property price. We could not find any properties around this area for the price.Incidentally, we had a phone call from their local blanch recently. They said those previous agents were all gone so give them another chance. But tell you what, it is very difficult to bring back people's trust once you lost. And garrr this afternoon phone call! Completely lost their trust! I would not recommend to anybody this agent!

TrustpilotIntrusive and arrogant
I phoned to enquire about a rental property that I was interested in viewing. The man's first response on the phone to me from WHB was (paraphrasing), 'well it's sort of not on offer anymore.' What on earth is "sort of" supposed to mean? Either it is or it isn't. I said to him, "well, technically speaking 'sort of' means it's still available to view." But no, there were too many appointments to view the property but he was interested in taking down my details for future reference - in case. Anyway, what followed has been - so far, the most intrusive and irrelevant set of questions directed towards me by any estate agency. He wanted to know WHY my wife and I were interested in a property that was 25 mins' drive or so away from where we are now (...erm... none of his business!). After asking about mine and my wife's earnings he then wanted to know if I had an accountant and what my profit margins were for working as an employed (not SELF employed) web designer - he wanted to know my profit and loss. This information, he said, was for WHB's department that dealt with deciding whether I was applicable/acceptable enough to be included in their listings. How dare they! I'm a landlord of three rental residential properties and I use my own letting agent. Neither I as a house-hunter, or my letting agent that deals with my properties, have ever put someone through such a stringent, intrusive process to rent a small house as WHB... and this is a house for (only) under one and a half thousand rent a month. I will be staying well clear of William H. Brown (although I doubt that'll upset them too much).

TrustpilotAwful service from mildenhall branch
Awful service from mildenhall branch. Wanted to arrange a viewing on a house we would of liked to of put an offer in on, but was told they were to busy and couldn’t show us the house for another two weeks, it sold quickly. We then wanted to put our house on the market with them, we arranged a day and time to then receive a phone call from them re arranging the time for half an hour later then booked. Received the confirmation text message. Waited at the house, no one came. Received a snotty phone call 37minutes late from an estate agent outside the property who wasn’t happy because we weren’t there. When explaining to them that we had waited and no one came, we were then told ‘WE’ must have got our wires crossed. Going to another estate agents now. Appalling first experience with this company. Would not recommend!

Attempted to buy a house in grays branch, estate agent selling the house was named Debbie. Although telling her we already had a mortgage in principle she insisted we go to her broker as she wouldn’t be able to put our offer forward unless we did that. She also told us that if we used her broker this would look better to the seller. After refusing to use her broker. She was not interested in taking any of our details to put the offer forward. I placed a complaint regarding debbies behaviour to their complaint system, took almost 3 weeks to get a reply and their response was they was ‘dissapointed’ that I felt this way. Terrible customer service and as first time buyers was totally manipulated throughout. Embarrassing for a company

TrustpilotTerrible company
Terrible company, never rent a property that's managed by these people. Total incompetence, rudeness and arrogance. They don't reply to emails or return phone calls. They tell you something different each time you speak to them which causes you to pay out for expenses that are potentially unnecessary. Then they have to cheek to tell you that having a giant hole in your living room which is full of sewage and rats is not dangerous or uninhabitable even though children could easily fall down the hole, potentially breaking bones or get an infection / disease from the rats which are coming out of the sewage hole and spreading it around the house and that we are "making a bigger deal out of it than we should be". Even though the contractor who quoted for the repairs said he wouldn't leave a dog in those conditions. Avoid this estate agents.

TrustpilotMy ruined plans…
Asked William h brown to have property on the market only for 4 weeks as they were second company who tried to sale the property and after that period I alreadyhadsome plansfortheproperty. After have been offered contract on their official paper I didn't want to sign it as it has lots of extra details I wasn't agree with. But sales agent banged on my door and asked why I am not signing the contract. He explained to me that other information was not relevant to me and I shouldn't be worried. He persuade me to sign the contract also by promising that property will be on the market for that period not longer. At the end of four weeks I asked to take the property off the market but have been explained that I have signed the contract and have to wait another 28 days after formally asking to take it of, plus in case there is some extra charges will apply. At the end I end up with property to be taken off the market by my first sales company but not William h brown. And my original plans to deal with property after that 4 weeks falling apart as well. I cannot move on and have to wait that period. I have been warned that the company is ripping off people on some hidden details in the contract and that is why I never wanted to sign with them on their original paper as I didn't agree with their conditions. So please be extra careful with them, the agents are good until they will get you to sign the paper...

TrustpilotAVOID William H Brow at all cost!
Wanted to buy a flat for investment purposes. Arranged two viewings with William H Brown Headingley branch. The agent was 10 minutes late for both viewings. No brochure and did not know ANYTHING about the property. She said her role was to open the door for us and that’s it. Anyway we really liked the flat and actually made an offer, been told the flat has been on the market for 6 months (now I know why) so I thought it should be pretty straightforward then. After I made my offer I waited a week and still not heard back from William H Brown. I had to call them to find out my offer was rejected. Anyway I made another offer hopefully to seal the deal, guess what. It’s been two weeks now and I have not heard back since. This William H Brown is just a massive joke. AVOID! AVOID! AVOID!

TrustpilotAppalling service from their mortgage…
Appalling service from their mortgage service Sequence. Roping in first time buyers to pay for their lifetime broker fee is disgusting. So untrustworthy. Mistake after mistake was made by our mortgage advisor. The only reason the mortgage offer went through in the end was because I spoke to the bank myself and took out my own research into the documentation they needed. I think we'd still be waiting now for him to get his act together if I hadn't done that! 14 weeks we waited in total which is just appalling. And we paid nearly £700 for this! It took so long in the end that we were encouraged to not get a survey done, which is really not fair to encourage first time buyers not to do this. I even heard from the sellers that the mortgage advisor had told them we were holding up the process, even though he was telling us the banks were holding up the process. If you're a first time buyer and you're reading this, please do your own research into mortgage advisors and don't just jump into using the estate agents mortgage service because they've persuaded you to, and it seems easier at the time. Once they're got your money they're not bothered how long your mortgage takes.

Absolutely horrible service. Took weeks to book us a viewing, we had to keep calling them as they never called us back. The agent was late to the viewing and after we said we’d take the house we didn’t heard from him again. We had to call them again and they then said there had been a ”mix up in the office” and someone else had gotten the house. Will never have anything to do with this agency again. Please save yourself time and effort and find another company.

TrustpilotWilliam H Brown Newark Branch not a good experience
We used William H Brown in Newark to sell our property. It went on the market 1st July 2020. Agreed a sale with first time buyers in August, they used Brown mortgage broker. We were told they had been offered a mortgage in principle. We had other people booked in to do a viewing but Browns cancelled them saying we couldn't show any more people around as we had accepted an offer. We kept ringing to see what was happening and were told everything fine. Then end of October Browns rang to say good news the mortgage had come through, bad news one of the prospective buyers had been made redundant so they were pulling out. Browns then got us a cash buyer, there was no chain involved as we also paid cash and the people we bought from were buying new. From that point things went downhill. The people we were buying from were under pressure, we kept calling Browns, eventually we did most of the work ourselves, the estate agent working for the people we were buying from ended up ringing us direct as Browns didn't answer his phone calls he had to ring our buyers solicitor as did the solicitor acting for the people we were buying from. We were virtually left on our own with no help from Browns. Browns rang to tell me that the sale had exchanged and completion a week after we knew ourselves. Browns are good at getting prospective buyers but progressing the sale is appalling, we should have had a weekly update and ended up ringing and emailing them ourselves. It was the most stressful we have had.

TrustpilotNo interest in selling houses
Probably the worst estate agent I’ve ever seen in operation. I called the Mildenhall office 4 days ago to view a house, the guy who answered the phone said he can’t arrange viewings and all he can do is take a message, took a message, no one called me back. Chased 4 days later, the property sold the day before. I was willing to offer over asking price. Do NOT sell your house with these cowboys they will not get your the best price and have no interest in arranging viewings for you

TrustpilotWorst letting agency ever.
Awful. Never renting with this company again, their lack of communication is atrocious. Had to phone them about 10 times for certain issues and each time they’d have no notes of the conversation before. They treat tenants and landlords in a bad way. We received multiple arrears emails in ‘error’ with no formal apology. Had to chase them to renew contracts and when it wasn’t renewed after months and we decided to move out they said we had been living there illegally. I would avoid this company like the plague. The turnover of their staff is awful so the person you were contacting would close their inbox then you’d have to try and contact someone all over again.
