My husband and I wish we had come here 5 years earlier than we did, so that we could have enjoyed the facilities for longer and while we were reasonably agile. We have lived at Grove Place for 6 years 5 months and never regretted the move for 1 minute. My husband was in hospital for 2 years and to have support from so many residents who have become friends, as well as the staff, was tremendous. It would have been a daunting experience had we still be living in a house in a large village. Our onsite Care Staff are wonderful and respond very quickly if called. Help is also readily available if any equipment in our apartment should break down or a light bulb need changing. Yes, we have to pay for the privilege of living in the lovely grounds of an Elizabethan Manor House, where our social activities take place, but our bills are much less than there were, when running our former home. If you are thinking of moving to a Retirement Village do it late sixties/early seventies and enjoy it to the maximum - don't leave it too late!

The best decision we ever made was coming here 12 years ago. Lovely helpful staff ,beautiful grounds and excellent facilities .There is always something to do ranging from croquet , card games ,art classes and craft or fitness session in the leisure suite or in the heated indoor pool to name but a few. Fantastic food in the restaurant, a hairdresser and laundry on site and no need to even get the hoover out as the housekeepers will keep you home sparkling and the care staff will provide help with daily living when needed and respond in minutes if they receive an alarm call. Actually living here is like being on a cruise but on dry land with lovely fellow passengers. We feel so blessed to live here. Pat & David Wootten

Grove Place is an excellent place to live. My husband and I moved here 10 months ago following my husband’s strokes and it was the best thing we could have done. All the staff are helpful, friendly and respectful, the grounds and facilities are amazing so beautiful and peaceful and full of wildlife. There is always things going on if that’s what you want but equally it is fine if you’d rather just stay private and in your own apartment, it’s entirely your choice there is as much or as little help as you choose and I can’t recommend it enough.

EMA Patient Transport were at this outstanding place, where we transferred an incoming resident from another care home using our care and nursing home transport services. This place is set in wonderful grounds and with absolutely amazing architecture! Superb facilities and excellent staff, what more could you ask for.

I have been here over 7 years. You have peace of mind at Grove Place as it is gated and you feel very secure. If you are unwell anytime, you just have to press the call or alarm button and the carers will be in attendance, summoning the paramedics if necessary. There is a 25 strong choir, with a wonderful music director. We have 3 performances a year for the residents and do go to the local churches to sing, to raise money for charity. Each month, there is a Musical performance, when we invite Professionals to perform for us. Our Restaurant is very good. We have a theme evening each month, which is very well supported. All the residents are very friendly and we have lots of activities to suit everyone. If you are considering downsizing, do decide to come when you are quite fit, when you can come and enjoy all the facilities. Please don’t wait too long! Celia

I have been in Grove Place for nearly 3 years. Just so pleased I found it. Everything you could need is here, the staff are delightful. The grounds are well kept and extensive. There is a swimming pool with aquarobic classes and a gym with classes. Jenny I moved from Eastbourne and did not know the area at all so for me the icing on the cake is Romsey. A small medieval market town with a town hall, a mayor and an abbey.Great pubs and places to eat, frequent street markets and the river Test running through the Memorial gardens.

I moved to Grove Place nearly two years ago after visiting friends who already lived here. I knew I could be happy here and have not been disappointed. Everyone is friendly and the staff are so kind and helpful. With extensive grounds to enjoy and plenty of activities, should one wish to make use of them, it's a great way to enjoy retirement. Grove Place is easily a five star retirement village!

We have lived here for nearly 12 years and love it. The staff are delightful, helpful and friendly. There are about 100 apartments so a big pool of friends of every sort, and the on site facilities, clubs and events mean that one could be busy 24/7 if one so wished. The grounds are beautiful and extensive and transport is available for those who don't drive. 10 mins from Southampton General, shops & supermarkets and a lively church down the road. My only advice would be, don't leave it too late to come as there is so much to enjoy.
