The professionalism of Jim, Glyn and Lorraine was superb. They helped us through a very difficult process. Jim went way above and beyond what he needed to do in order to make the sale happen, he was amazing. Without him doing what he did, we would still be in our old house and unlikely to have progressed any further, he was outstanding.
This review has been a while coming as we've been so busy but a big thank you to the team.

GoogleJames Philcox and the team at Moloneys were absolutely amazing to work with, we recently purchased a house in Cripps Corner through them, and the level of service from James (and the team) was above and beyond. The sale was tricky, and Jim was exceptionally helpful in smoothing things over, taking calls after hours, and even visiting us with the additional information. We also were so very grateful to the team who met various trade services at the house sometimes at short notice just to keep things on track. You could really tell that Jim knew his stuff - he has been able to recommend services and suppliers to us that were necessary for the buying process while always staying positive and proactive. If you are buying or selling in East Sussex, I would highly recommend using Moloneys. The ethics and values of the team here really were excellent and hugely different from the agent we used to sell. So do not hesitate to work with Jim and Glyn and the team at Moloneys.

GoogleIf your looking for a dedicated estate agents look no further we came to Moloneys from a much bigger agency in a tough climate they in particular Jim Philcox made a determined and dedicated effort to get our property sold and subsequently helped us secure our new dream property in the heart of East Sussex
In essence there are other estate agents but in my experience of selling and buying over 7 properties in my adult life they exceeded the service by a mile in comparison Thanks to all the staff in the office especially Jim and Lorraine

GoogleAwful service do not recommend, put a holding deposit on a property , then got asked to get a guarantor or a month upfront rent said we'll do the month rent a month then turned into a years rent which is ridiculous then went down to 6 months again a lot of money to find so went with a guarantor then get an email from rightmove saying passed referencing and our contract is being written and to start looking for insurance and broadband luckily I didn’t pay for any of that. Thought haven’t heard from estate agent in a while so gave them a call to find out what’s going on, they’ve given the property to someone else and didn’t even think to let us know so now have got to start again on our property search and has been a waste of time and doubt we’ll get our holding deposit back

We are sorry you have chosen to use this platform to vent your frustration, However, the situation was very clear from the outset . You viewed the property in Tenterden, paid a 1 week holding deposit (as is the norm.) You personally passed referencing for you 50% of the monthly rental amount quickly. However, your partner Jack delayed and delayed completing the application form, then final when he did, he unfortunately, failed financial referencing for his share of the rent. Having done so you were both informed that the only way to pass was indeed for you to provide a guarantor or pay rent for a substantial period up front. Initially we were told a parent would do that for you, then we were advised that was not now possible and Jack was looking at alternatives, including borrowing the advanced rent required. 4 weeks of toing and froing later, we were still at the same position, No guarantor and no funds to advance pay the required sum. unfortunately after 5 weeks we had to re- offer the property. We then processed your deposit return (In full) without any deduction. and apologised that the landlord could wait no longer and that another individual wished to take the property. Rightmove tenant referencing only ever usually ask for a guarantor or recommend multi-month rentals in advance (12 or 6 months) where an applicant fails financial referencing and/or credit checks. Passing is circumvented on rent up front for an extended period basis. Unfortunately, this is always disappointing to potential tenants but completely beyond the control of any letting agent when landlords need the comfort of financial security. However, with respect to your unwarranted review it is completely without grounds, misleading and with many false statements of fact. We have requested for it to be removed. Thank you

GoogleHaving spent from July 2024 to end February 2025 getting an undeveloped piece of land transferred to me, i must say that without Jim Philcox helping well beyond his brief, this transfer would not have been completed today.
His initial involvement in the sale was excellent and he negotiated politely and clearly, once the sale was handed to the solicitors he maintained contact as the process was very slow.
When one of thd buyers reneged on an agreement, threatening the sale he took ownership of the issue through to resolution.
He kept me well informed right up to today when he confirmed that fund transfers had been processed.
