Poor buyer experience
You will find out that this agency has a bad habit of missing to advertise the surface of the properties that they are selling. While this information can be found on the EPC certificate they manage to include only the graph part of it, so you will no be able to find it. When asked about the agents do say that they do not know it, assuming that your are stupid and not knowing that this information is always on the EPC certificate. Hiding information about the property seems to be part of their day to day job.

A year on and I am still furious with this company
My story actually happened nearly a year ago but I think its worth a read. In 2014, my partner and I decided to rent an apartment through WHB. We viewed the apartment (priced at £525 a month) and were happy with its condition. We told WHB we would take the apartment and just under a week later went in to their office (leicester) to sign for the property. No sooner had our pens left the paper, the sales advisor said 'has the landlord told you about the leak?' We didn't know what she meant but it turns out that there had been a water leak from an upstairs property into our flat on the ceiling. What was funny, was that we later learned the landlord was not allowed our contact details, so I have no idea why they'd asked if the landlord had told us anything as he wasn't legally allowed to! Anyway, they informed us the leak was 'a small brown stain on the ceiling' so we said as long as it was patched up promptly we didn't mind. To cut a long story short, when arriving in the property we found there to be thick black mould everywhere! Something which obviously had been much worse than we were told. To add insult to injury, we were told the inventory had not came through yet (which ironically contained pictures of this mess) so we didn't get any inkling of the damage until we saw it for ourselves. WHB were extremely unhelpful, making us feel 'annoying' for ringing up to complain and the work was eventually sorted ourselves. At the end of our tenancy our problems were not over when we did not receive our deposit back for three months. Numerous calls were made to WHB and I was hung up on twice when asking where our £700 was. We finally got £650 back after having to give them £50 to clean the carpets which we'd already paid to clean. Awful company, complete bandits.

Viewing properties
I have rung up William h brown numerous times in the last month to try and view 2 different properties. Each time I rang the agent took my details and assured me that someone would call me back to book my viewing. Over two weeks later and I've had no phone call. I won't be buying a house through William H Brown that is for sure.

Very poor service and communication
Very poor service and communication. - Would always promise to ring back and let us know. Never did. - Did not research the vendors properly, meaning we spent £1500 for no reason. - No communication. - Often gave erroneous excuses for things that were not ever plausible. - Spoke with management team who ignored my e-mails. With the number of estate agents on offer, I would strongly advise going elsewhere.

Bad Agency to work with
when i was looking for a flat, william H Brown had a good house in high street in braintree. So i apply for that flat, and after a fortune payed to fees and inventory i finally rent that flat. After one month i had a pipe that blow up, i call to the landlord and came to fix next day, they made a hole on my hall to fix the pipe and they left it open. the told me was just for a few days bust after six months i still had that hole 1 meter by 1 meter, and imagine me with 1 year child at home and having that. I called many time to the landlord and the answer was always the same we will fix soon as possible, and they were building another flat on the top of mine(funny hein), i called to the agency and they told me they can't do nothing, know i'm asking why we rent a house on agency? just to pay fees nothing else?? no that is william h Brown policy i found another agency that don't work like them if a have an issue i just call them and they call to the landllord to fix my issue because they have some standards for landlords. But when i saw hey will never come to my flat and fix the problem, i started looking for another flat and i found one cheaper and better. when i call to the landlord i was living his flat he told me you can't because you still have one month contract lol so i rent the other house and one day i went to my flat and was missing my laptop, tv , bike and 100 pounds. was the landlord who done it, i called him return my items and he didin't wont i dont know why, so i went to the police and after one day i had all my items, was the first and the last time i rent something on william h brown

Stevenage branch
Stevenage branch Buyers and sellers stay away from this branch as the so called area sales manger does not represent buyers and sellers in any honest way !

Listen to your customers and be more transparent
This company is being seriously damaged by a deceptive head office department which masks their phone calls with a randomly generated local phone number so you pick up the phone. They are verging on pushy and do not encourage business in any shape or form. It is so unfortunate especially as the local team are so very helpful and more than capable of managing their business. AVOID.

Avoid. Greedy, pushy and unhelpful.
Tried to rush things through at the end before things were ready as clearly wanted their commission, seemed to make things up, tried to force a mortgage appointment upon us when we said we were sorted to the point they booked us in after we had said no many times and despite numerous times politely asking never came and collected our sold sign after moving in. Recommend going with smaller more genuine companies.

Friendly and speedy process
Steve and Courtney from the Stevenage branch have been actual lifesavers. Their continued patience and willingness to help has made a very daunting and stressful move all the more worth it for me. Nothing but praise for this team, they're wonderful!

Regretted signing the contract. Beware!
Signed up to sell house with William H Brown and regretted it. For some reason the Branch i was dealing with took it upon themselves to string me along for 6 months. In short, the property never went 'live'. No For Sale sign, no photo's online. I got the impression they worked in their own bubble, and took on the business to possibly stop me going elsewhere. Beware!

Awful
Awful. Was interested in a property marketed by this company and got myself booked into a viewing. The person who showed me around the property had quite clearly just memorised the fact-sheet (which anyone could have done) and could not respond to simple questions. He was more interested in making sure his car did not get ticketed than showing me around the house. Why would anyone use these people as selling agents? Absolutely add no real value.

It's like dealing with 2nd hand car…
It's like dealing with 2nd hand car sales, all promises, pressures and disappearing acts.Avoid these..... there are far more open and communicative estate agents out there.

They viewed my property to rent
They viewed my property to rent, then changed energy suppliers without my knowledge or agreement. I only found this out after I had rejected their services. I was told that they were in partnership with 'Smart' energy, and it was in the contract (which was never accepted or signed)BEWARE! There are a lot of hidden charges in contract which are generally inclusive with other agents.Read - check - read again, before giving instructions!

Staffs of William H Brown (a division…
Staffs of William H Brown (a division of Sequence Ltd) are full of bullies and harassers with no sense of good customer's value. Thye breached my confidentiality which had caused me and my family serious emotional distress but when I raised compalint, everyone began denying claiming that it wasn't them and niot investigation has been provided to support that it was actually investigated, no interview had been granted in person. Too bad.

Rude office staff
Rude office staff, close early with no notification. No call backs, agent showing property had zero interest or knowledge in the property. Waste of time! I viewed a house at 1645 and tried to call the office to put in a offer at 17:05. The Office stated on their website and on the voice mail there were open until 18:00.

Made and enquiry as a buy to let…
Made and enquiry as a buy to let property investor on Wednesday. I am still waiting to hear back. Check out the board/management team. There are 11 members listed. However they are all 100% male. You dont need to know any more about how this business thinks and operates. I guess that is reflected it its TP scores. Although they are an estate agency what do you expect!
Where the same review appears twice we show it once. We leave out reviews that name another agent or another of the brand's offices.
