GoogleMy wife and I recently both sold and purchased a house via the Newtown branch on McCartneys. The service we received from all of the staff we came into contact with was flawless. They were extremely professional, knowledgeable and attentive. Specifically, Ebony Shuker and Helen Barrie were outstanding. We are extremely grateful for the team at this branch. We would not hesitate to recommend the services they provide.

GoogleDebbie took us for a viewing around my mums house that is about to go through this week. Debbie was very professional, polite and friendly. Debbie made some very helpful suggestions that my mum took on board. Debbie was very empathetic towards the needs of the house my mum needed. I would recommend Debbie to anyone who requires a viewing of a property.

GoogleJust made a phone call to Rachel in the Newtown office, Not the friendliest person to speak with, quite objective in the call and didn't really put my mind at rest with concerns over a new tenancy contract or give any valid advice part from ... take it up with your landlord! Yet the contract is with Maccartneys.

GoogleThere is absolutely nothing positive to say about this company. From the moment we placed the property for sale, we received nothing in terms of pro-active follow-up, communication, etc. We had to request a For Sale board be erected; chase up feedback following a viewing; and confirmation of an offer that was made to ourselves and to an answer phone at McCartney's office - the day before! We also had to chase clarification of the financial robustness of the chain. which was was left unchecked resulting in lengthy delays in final completion. Not to mention numerous phone calls and emails that were unanswered. Completion was only achieved thanks to our solicitor, and it is worth noting that no notification of completion was received from McCartneys. Unprofessional and total lack of interest and commitment to sell despite being a cash buyer. No one followed up on viewings to discuss the properties, apart from sending a form through to be completed. If I was trying to sell a property I would certainly not recommend going through this agent.

Unprofessional lettings department, had verbal agreement accepted by landlords (should have got it in writing) only to find out they were still showing people around the property, then tried to make out we hadn’t contacted them to accept the the agreement even though we had rang and sent several emails confirming we wanted the property. We had call logs and emails to prove we had! We have since found a lovely estate agent that has bent over backwards to help us, showing us that not all estate agents behave this way. Would not recommend to others to use them and definitely will never be using them again.

GoogleAbsolutely disgraceful company. Lie to tenants and try and con disabled people for landlords. Money making scammers who leave people homeless and out of pocket no matter how good a tenant you may be. Do not follow complaints procedures and think they have the right to complain about negative reviews based off factual experience. Pretty much tried to blackmail us into removing a previous review as the manager stated they would not deal with our complaints because of it. Previous review was removed so they would and still never dealt with it. Had to take them to the obundsman service. Completely unprofessional letting agents and the staff are horrible,lying con artists. Avoid like the plague! They left our family homeless and allowed the landlord to breach the tenancy over and over and so did they. They waited until we landscaped our garden and then repossessed the property after less than 13 months despite continuously telling us it was a long term let, then said the landlord was selling the house which is neither for sale or to re let after 2 months. The house is still sat empty and we are left fighting to get our deposit back despite being model tenants. No repairs were ever completed and we were left in a house with black mold and windows that poured in when it rained for the duration of the tenancy. Do not trust them and do not trust the manager either. She is the one who basically blackmailed us and made us believe she would deal with the problem when all she really wanted was to cover their tracks and hope we would just give up the fight for our deposit back. All our rent was up to date, we followed the tenancy to the letter and even improved the property and it's value at our own expense just to be treated this way. They made our lives hell. They should not be allowed to be a letting agent!(UPDATE) They have now emailed my partner with an offer of financial compensation but not given a figure and I am still waiting on the deposit protection scheme to get back with a conclusion of if i get my deposit which is being wrongly claimed by the landlord because of the instructions given to use by the managing estate agent. We will have to see how this pans out as we should not be left out of pocket at all when we were the ones who were conned and lied to from the start of the tenancy . UPDATE! just as we thought, they had no intention as from the start of sticking to their word and have now backed out of their false offer and have instead accused me of (SLANDEROUS) comments which are in no way based off anything but factual experience and emails from Anita the person who sent the email to my partner stating that the complaints procedure would not be followed if the previous review remained. We have the email that states what Anita said and not just us, but anyone who receives this type of treatment from a company claiming to be professional and follow the rules has every right to post a factual and truthful review. All that has been achieved by them is proving what they are like and if they had acted in a professional manner and resolved the situation as Anita stated they would then of course this review would have been different or even removed. I will not accept being bullied or blackmailed in to not telling the true details of what disgusting, unprofessional behaviour we have experienced. We will now definitely be passing all evidence to the obundsman and may even take further steps to highlight this appaling treatment. How dare they try and make out that it is us that have acted in the wrong manner!

Absolute con artists! Followed tenancy to the letter, followed all advice given by them and still trying to rip off a disabled man and his family. Both them and landlord broke tenancy the whole time and didn't care one bit. Left us homeless and actively still trying to con us out of our deposit despite doing exactly what they told us. Disgusting,lying company that thinks they can do what they want, break the rules and contracts and get way with it. Reported to obundsman and will be giving both them and the deposit protection scheme all our evidence including of the disrepair we were left to live in despite always paying full rent and not having any use of the garden. I was also injured due to the disrepair and both themselves and landlord refused any details regarding the landlords insurance

We were about to make an offer on a property when we discovered the agent had listed it for £75,000 less than the asking price. It was advertised for £375,000 in the window. The agent told us that the details she gave us were incorrect - the price on these was £450,000, the price in the window was the correct one. We viewed the property twice and were shown around by the owners. The agent refused to consider any offer we were going to make, she said it would be too low.

GoogleI have used McCartneys as a letting agent for an year. 12 months of stress. First the payments were wrong, then months to fix a problem with the property. Then no contact when there was an issue with the property. The letting manger Rachel hasn't got a clue, always passing the buck and has an attitude. If you are looking for an agent to manage your property look elsewhere!!! I am.

GoogleI would never list my property with McCartneys! As a potential buyer, I called and called, left messages trying to arrange a viewing of a certain property. Finally after persistence, I got through to someone who said once viewings commence, rest assured I'd be contacted. Review the listing two weeks later, and the property had been sold - clearly in the business of a quick sale. Estate Agent that advertising prices that when offers are made turns out not to be what the vendor wants at all. It wastes your time and disappoints you when they could have been honest from the start. Estate Agents and straight talking are not things you put together. Work with them at your peril!

GoogleAvoid at all costs as a seller. Poor communication, promises made and then denied. Have to show viewers round yourself. Have to chase up feedback yourself. Precious little effort to market your house, relying on Rightmove to generate interest. All in all a terrible level of service, AND we have heard similar accounts from OTHER sellers in the area. Would give positive feedback if it was warranted and in this case 0 stars if it was possible.
