TrustpilotHolly & Nathanial @ Stockton Heath
I’m so grateful to Nathanial, Holly and Sam at Bridgfords Stockton Heath. They’ve helped me through two moves during one of the hardest times in my life, and their support has genuinely meant the world. They were kind, patient and completely on top of everything.
Thank you for going above and beyond for me.

TrustpilotAvoid
Unfortunately, i read these reviews quite late and I am in agreement with all the negative opinions about Bridgfords Withington. We tried to buy a flat, but when we told them that we have our own mortgage advisor, the communication stopped. When we tried to get updates, they would try to discourage us to continue. They went on making an offer for our maximum budget, despite only having 1 additional buyer who offered 25k less than us. Dishonesty/ lack of transparency and totally unprofessionalism, especially Richard/ Hammad. I am happy I did not use their services, and I now select properties which are not in their portfolio. Quite sure the seller has received a lower offer as well, which is a shame as the flat was superb. Avoid!

TrustpilotBranch staff good, conveyancing beyond horrendous
Started the journey of selling my flat with Bridgfords well, great listing, quickly found a buyer, then Bridgfords conveyancing service took over and was incompetent at every turn. 6 months on from accepting an offer I’ve had to end the sale as my mental health couldn’t handle anymore of the misleading, lies and gaslighting from their conveyancers. Was so bad even the branch staff said they were embarrassed at how bad it was.

TrustpilotIf I could put 0 I would
If I could put 0 I would. My cousin gave notice that he was giving up the flat due to family and health issues. Before he was able to remove his things (within a week) they have taken his belonging and given only some clothing back. They have stolen a family air loom watch (Rolex) , cash that was for Christmas, not given back any expensive trainers .. they have drip fed some things back since like the tvs and yet to receive the Xbox, they have photos of his stuff on their report which they haven’t given back. They are not to be trusted . They are proceeding to trade non ethically and illegally. Reports to police have been made. They prey on vulnerable people

TrustpilotBridgfords Gosforth
Bridgfords Gosforth - categorically the worst letting agents I have ever dealt with. They were very efficient at getting credit checks completed and the rent and deposit organised. After that though the service was appalllng. We picked up they keys a few days before we moved in and noticed a wash basin in the ensuite was smashed, and the premises was generally dirty (not mentioned on the inventory). Rang and advised - and said they could access the property to repair if necessary. It was not repaired when I moved in and I was advised this was because I needed to report through their portal. In the first week I had to report repairs - washing machine not plumbed in, broken toilet seats, kitchen cupboards so dilapidated the drawers fell out when opened, gas fire not working, thermostats missing/broken on radiators, ventilation fans not working plus the smashed basin. It took them 7 weeks to get some of the repairs done, the remainder were outstanding when I left 6 months later. I chased and chased but just got told they aren't priority repairs (repairs on white goods are supposed to be prioritised). Once I handed my notice in they were super efficient at arranging viewings to get some other poor fool to pay £850 to live in a cold badly maintained property.Although I have seen a copy of the check out report which mentioned lots of issues, all of which predated my tenancy, I have never had confirmation that the Land Lord is happy ( They brow beat me into taking a zero deposit arrangement which was very expensive so I don't have a deposit to come back) All in all swift to take your money slow to respond to issues and communications demonstrate how little they care about their tenants. I cannot recommend highly enough that you avoid this business like the plague.

TrustpilotYou're a star Ellie
Just wanted to mention the first Class service received by Ellie in the Tynemouth office. She is more than helpful every time I speak to her. I am a Landlady and despite the extremely expensive charges Bridgefords have for every aspect of Letting, it is Ellie who is polite, extremely efficient, always pleasant and a delight to deal with. Service like this needs to be recognised ...Ellie should run the office as nothing is ever too much trouble. I was visiting recently from London and Ellie was off, sadly. Other staff were on the phone and didn't even acknowledge I was there! so rude considering the money I pay them. I am in the Property business myself, so know how people expect to be treated. Well done Ellie, you are an asset to Tynemouth!

TrustpilotLee Johnson from Countrywide…
We met Lee Johnson from Countrywide without any knowledge about house buying or what is needed to make it happen. He enabled us to create our credit profile as we had never had credit before and needed this to get a mortgage. He told us everything about getting the maximum we can afford from our salaries, making sure we had the best mortgage provider/rate and also ensuring that if anything bad was to happen, the house and our earnings would be covered and the house would be paid for! Lee I cannot thank you enough for enabling me and my wife go from renting to homeowners with peace of mind. Especially during a time of mortgage uncertainty (late 2022). Fantastic work! I highly recommend Lee to anyone who is either new to buying/selling or is seeking advice on what to do! THANK YOU! You have made our journey effortless.

TrustpilotI had an appointment booked for today…
I had an appointment booked for today at 2.p.m with the view to put my house on the market so I would be in a position to make an offer on a viewing tomorrow. I received a call around 1.30 to inform me that the agent is running 30 minutes late, making the expected visit for 2.30. 3.15 came. I rang the agents to be told she's not attending. To rub salt in the wounds furthermore I was told she couldn't come to me because of traffic and she would make the visit after me late. Viewing cancelled as I had wasted my day off waiting round for nothing.

TrustpilotContractors should avoid at all costs!
Contractors should avoid at all costs!! We fitted a cylinder in a property for this agent, and have received no payment, now three month overdue. They tried to pass us onto the landlord when we’ve worked direct with them. We’ve still heard nothing, despite numerous calls, emails, complaints. We will be forced to get a debt recovery involved. Would not recommend working for them!

Huge thanks to the Withington team, especially Richard, Sadaf, David and James. Excellent service from a very helpful team.

TrustpilotBridgfords
Extremely unprofessional company.Absolutely no communication skills with each other (or with us as the landlords). This resulted in us losing money, and money being taken incorrectly on several occasions.Whenever an issue was raised with Stephen, we had to send numerous emails over weeks to receive any answers as to what was going on. They always had to be chased up, and would never email on their own to let us know what was happening. When an issue had been raised, some staff would send patronising emails, rather than trying to solve the issue, especially Chloe and Lauren. This was just another area of unprofessionalism that was shown.A company that was sent to take photos to assess damage to the property was appalling. They 'forgot' to take photographs of important areas that had been damaged, such as the flooring that had come up.A tenant reported a leak to the company, which was not reported to us at all (again a lack of communication). This resulted in us having to pay over 1500 pounds for a new floor. We were told that no further money was owed to the company, and all that was left to sort was the amount of deposit money that would be returned to us for damages to the property. When we received this, hundreds of pounds had been deducted from the company, with no explanation as to what this was and why this was deducted. On another occasion, we told the company not to carry out an annual gas check as the tenant was leaving. They ignored this, did not even bother to let us know that they had carried this out until over 2 months later when we continuously questioned what was going on. We never received this money back, and despite emails proving the lack of communication, not even an apology was given. It became extremely obvious that this is simply a money making business, with no regard for the customer. We originally had Bridgfords in full control of the property, however with every necessary repair, they would always quote ridiculous amounts compared to any other company that we dealt with. They tried to take money off us at every opportunity, again with a lack of explanation and no actual service. We have numerous properties, and would definitely not recommend this company, or use them to manage any of our properties in the future. A huge improvement in communication and professionalism needs to be made.

TrustpilotPut house on market with bridgfords…
Put house on market with bridgfords after very impressive sales pitch promising a high level of service. Big mistake!!! Told them I wanted them to do viewings but they repeatedly turned up after the viewers so I had to start viewings and they took over towards end.( so embarassing) most of viewers were time wasters and not in a position to proceed with sale. Staff at office getting times and dates wrong. When I took it off market because they were making it so stressful they showed no interest at all. They then sent me a letter with names of all the viewers to give to any future agents so they could charge commission if I sold to any at a later date and reminding me of all the ways they could charge me commission. Would not recommend this company at all !!!

They rented me a house at 26 Jefferson Walk ST16 1WF and I listened to construction noises for 1 year and they forced me to sign an additional contract for 1 year even though I told them before. They tried to rent me this house above market prices. When I left, they had no other choice so they rented it to others at a lower price. They are not honest and try to rip people off. Also, do not trust the zero deposit system, they work together and try to get money from you

TrustpilotExcellent Customer Service
I visited a number of estate agents in Halifax Centre last week and Bridgfords were the best by far. On entry I was welcomed by Courtney who went above and beyond to help me with my enquiry. She took my details and added me to the mailing list for updates and has been actively sending properties that may be of interest to me ever since. Her colleague Alix was also really helpful. You can feel that the culture here is all about the people & customer. The estate agent I went to prior (not mentioning any names but very, very close to Bridgfords) had me sitting around for 10 minutes whilst on a call then reluctantly gave me a print out of a property that already had 25 people booked to view the next day (a pointless exercise, just fob me off why don't you) He didn't even take my details and I felt as though he couldn't wait to go for his lunch. Now that's what bad customer service. But Bridgfords do not deserve bad press. May I urge you to please take no notice of the bad reviews below because the team here are warm, welcoming & lovely and good at what they do so keep you heads high, because you deserve a big well done! :)
