GoogleI rented a property through Jo at Wright Lettings and vacated the property over 2 months ago now and am still yet to receive my deposit back. There has since been someone else moved into the property. During my time there i was left without a working tap in my bathroom sink, mould on the walls and holes in the roof. These were all reported several times, but never fixed. I have since written 2 letters of complaint, to which i have received no response to either and have now had to escalate this to the ombudsman and the DPS. I spent 5 hours cleaning the house when i left with my father, daughter and boyfriend, yet they came back immediately complaining of dog hair. An extra deposit was paid at the time for the dog and any dog owner knows, that no matter how much cleaning is done, it is inevitable that there may be still a few stray hairs, however i disputed this immediately that the house was left in a state and they advised me the house would have to be professionally cleaned. The Tenant Fees Act 2019 state they cannot do this, especially as i spent so long cleaning, painting and making sure the house was how i had found it. I have never heard from them since, and they still have not returned my £721 deposit. I have taken legal advice on this and been informed they are illegally withholding my deposit with no explanation. AVOID THIS COMPANY BY ALL COSTS as they do not even bother to respond to formal complaints, never mind resolve any client issues or fix any required works. AVOID AVOID AVOID

It is somewhat disappointing to read the factually incorrect comments but appreciate it is always upsetting when there is a dispute at the end of a tenancy.
Our final inspections are independently carried out to protect both landlord and tenants alike, a copy of which I understand you have received.
We are, as you have pointed out a member of the Property Ombudsman and your deposit is protected with the DPS.
In addition to our own procedures we comply with theirs also.
I do not appear to have received the formal complaint that you say has been sent and would welcome a copy of this being sent to our office for us to address.
I’m certain that the DPS will be able to arbitrate your deposit refund.
