We have just bought a property in Southwell through this estate agent and have been so impressed with the service that we have received. Helen has been our main contact and she has always been very professional, upbeat and friendly and we have really appreciated her advice, help and enthusiasm. Even through the weird times that we are now living (covid-19) we have received outstanding support and responsiveness. We cannot recommend them too highly.

That Alistair Smith is fantastic. He is looking after my mother in law’s sale. He talks to her, he explains to her. He listens to her! Everything happens immediately and really well. Emailed him with a query at 21.45 last night. A full reply with an attachment at 21.48!!! And his staff are so can do, do do. The person to use if you actually want to sell.

Literally THE WORST

This is literally one of THE WORST agencies I've ever had the misfortune of dealing with. I work for a development company, often sourcing sites, and whenever I see them as the listing agent I think twice about calling on the property. Their agents never have any information and can't seem to be bothered and deflect any responsibility for answering further questions. The units are always grossly misrepresented and over valued; usually a Catfish. Please reconsider choosing these people as your representation. They have fumbled 2 deals for us and rarely call back in a timely manner with any relevant information. Total time wasters. Do yourself a favor and avoid this company.

This review refers to Newark letting office. I would have given a million negative stars if there was one. All landlords, I hope you see this review before you hand over your properties to them. These people do not care about doing their job properly. They are absolutely dreadful to deal with. My properties were fully managed by Newark office for many year. The old manager Denice was the best and ever since her departure the management just got worse every year. In the end I couldn’t put up with them any more and removed my properties from their care. Landlords, do yourself a massive favour and use a different agent!

Richard Watkinson in Bingham, Nottinghamshire were absolutely outstanding. I cannot rate them or praise them highly enough. All staff members in the Bingham office were knowledgable, helpful & highly professional and they all worked extremely hard to sell our house for us. A special thank you must go to Anita who was completely brilliant and ultimately helped us achieve our full asking price and worked tirelessly on our behalf whilst dealing with a number of flaky links at the bottom of our chain. I may have had a nervous breakdown without you Anita! Thank you, thank you, thank you.

We have recently sold our house at Wellow and used Amy and her team at Southwell. It has been a long, complicated and stressful time for us, however, throughout the whole process, whoever we have spoken to in the office have been up to date on the current state of play. They have been professional throughout, they always ring you back when they say they will and they are tenacious in the pursuit of an answer to any of your problems. I would highly recommend them to anybody locally with a special mention for Helen in the office, who always deals with your problem with good humour and positivity!

very dissatisfied dealings with this agent very unprofessional AVOID!! They failed to put forward the correct offer to a vendor of a property we wanted to buy and lied over checks made to our solicitors which they didn't even contact. I would not recommend them to my worst enemy. branch manager promised to call us back but never heard a thing, maybe they were selling the house of the people that eventually had the offer accepted, ( double commision)

We contacted Richard watkinson and partners 2 weeks ago. They called back and unfortunately we could not take the call so called them back ! No response ! To date still no response. The lady in question was working from home... covid is clearly causing disruption in the work place. If this is how Richard watkinson responds to their customers I am so glad we are not using them ! Poor customer service

Initially had a great experience. Unfortunately, this was overshadowed when on a telephone call (as I politely queried why I had been mislead about what was being asked for and shared with a vendor) I was loudly spoken over and unable to even finish a sentence to explain my query, before I was snapped at "I've been doing this for 30 years, that's the way it is. Thank you goodbye" and the phone was hung up. The tone and attitude of the call was patronising and unprofessional. We all understand how busy the market is at present and I've every sympathy that everyone is busy and no doubt inundated with calls. I was made to feel as I had done something wrong by asking questions about my own details or as if I were a child. Understand this may not be reflective of the whole team or them at their best, but it has certainly left me worried about dealing with them in the future.

I have been looking for a property to…

I have been looking for a property to rent for almost a year now and on the 20th of November this year I applied for a flat to rent I saw on Rightmove. The letting agent Richard Watkinson sent me an email back to complete a survey which I did but I never heard anything back from them.Well I phoned them today only to be told the property had already gone and all they can do is apologise which quite frankly is not good enough! I have have had other dealings with this dreadful company which have turned out the same way.I would advise people to stay away from this cowboy company!

As a long-standing tenant via Richard Watkinson and Partners, (8yrs +) I'm sad to say I have noticed a decline in the service provided over the last few years, to the point now of being completely ineffectual. While the landlord has always been useless to the point of negligence, Richard Watkinson's lettings team always used to ensure that the tenants' interests and welfare were represented. Sadly this no longer seems to be the case. When this tenancy came to an abrupt end due to the landlord objecting to, and lying about, my insistence that he actually fulfil his responsibilities rather than simply collecting the rent every month, and decided that the solution to that was to throw me out, Richard Watkinson were predictably no help whatsoever. Being a good long term tenant and customer apparently means nothing to them, it's all about keeping the landlord happy. I'm now girding myself for a long, drawn -out dispute over my deposit, as I've no doubt the landlord will want to keep it to pay for work that he should have undertaken months to years ago, and I fully expect the agency to continue to do nothing about it. Once that is over I am very much looking forward to having nothing further to do with them, or the landlord, ever again. Safe to say I will never be renting through them again, and I definitely would not recommend them to anyone else.

We cannot recommend Richard Watkinson at the Southwell office highly enough. The whole team are a credit to their profession. Right from the start when we decided to put our house on the market, the taking of the photographs which were perfect which we are convinced sold our home very quickly, the regular feedback and updates helped us with a swift sale and purchase. Would not use, enquired twice about a property, no one responded. When I did call the Mansfield office I was made to feel like I was a nuisance. Not sure if they only deal with lottery winners, however, as a normal member of the public was made to feel like a second class citizen. Terrible customer service. Avoid.
