Manchester Life is really bringing the vibes lately! The clothes swap event tonight was AMAZING, such a great atmosphere, loads of unique finds, and just an all-around feel-good evening. Also, huge shout out to Jamie for being an absolute star and sorting out my shower issue in the apartment so quickly and efficiently. It’s little things like that which make living here so much better πŸ™Œ

Such a good idea from Jess and the team! Sometimes it can be hard getting your old clothes to a charity shop without a car, so this event is a perfect helping hand - and there were so many good finds others had dropped off! Lovely to get to know some faces, hopefully more events in the future πŸ™‚ …

Manchester life is a great letting agent, staff are very friendly. Jess and the team frequently host regular events such as the clothes swap and discounts for nearby cafes and restaurants :)

I’d like to thank Sandra and Peggy for helping me, I had to move out spontaneously due to personal circumstances and the ladies helped me. Even though Manchester life is a company, it’s still people who take decisions. Thank you very much, in the end what people remember about a person is their kindness and empathy!

I rented from MCR Life for 4.5 years…

I rented from MCR Life for 4.5 years from 2021 to 2026 and they were one of the best landlords I've had. They responded to all maintenance issues promptly, had competitive rents, fair rent review processes and have a portfolio of fantastic buildings. Everyone from the leasing team, concierges, cleaning staff, and maintenance team were professional and great to deal with.

I lived at CFW with my wife and son for over 4 years. Mcr Life looked after my family and they always resolved any issues I had. The staff especially Sandra at the office was pleasant and very easy to communicate with. I would recommend if you wish to live in the Area.

Been with MCR Life since 2019 and they create such a lovely atmosphere. The staff are so welcoming and caring. I’ve just been to Jess’ clothes swap and left with some fab new clothes.

We lived in Cotton Field Wharf for two years. Nice building, nice location (kind of; it's Ancoats...), but the suggestion there is a 24 hour concierge is misleading. It's generally not a major issue, but when the rear gate is broken and the concierge isn't answering the phone it's frustrating. The turnover of desk staff was also very high and there was little incentive to get to know them as only a handful lasted more than a few months. When our move out date was approaching MCR Life stopped answering emails and my queries went unanswered (what time do we need to move out by? where do we leave the keys? can we push our move out date back to the weekend etc). It wasn't until 6pm on our move out day that someone called to ask where the keys were. Upon moving out we were charged for the replacement of a perfectly serviceable cooker hob and part of an extractor fan that was never fitted in the first place. There was very little consideration for two years of reasonable wear and tear. There was a time when people were scrambling to move in to Cotton Field Wharf but the large number of empty apartments suggests it isn't the case now and is indicative of the current state of management at MCR Life.

AVOID. Lovely when they’re selling you in! Then once you’re in, they couldn’t give a toss about you. All complaints ignored, and calls asking for a specific person are usually answered with β€˜they’re on lunch at the moment’ or β€˜they’re in a meeting’. Tried to complain about one particular member of staff being unprofessionally rude and was told that the director had known her for 10 years and never had an issue (?). Embarrassing incompetence put off my replacement tenant who I worked hard to find/be in touch with/show round etc. Just complete morons. Lifts were always broken.

Lived at Cotton Field Wharf for 2 years. Nice, big apartments and a helpful concierge team. The Ancoats and New Islington area is a lovely area to live and work in, with new buildings and businesses popping up monthly. Since a lot of the appartements are flat-shares (e.g. 2 tenants), we did experience some excessive noise late into the night during weekends. Concierge did their best to resolve this, but were not always successful. Parking was a big problem, with no-one following or enforcing the rules, which meant it was a free-for-all most of the time. Not great when you're paying Β£80pm for a space. The Car park gate was also regularly broken, meaning the car park was unsecure for long periods. Like others have mentioned, some of the back-office admin team would benefit from some additional customer service training, although I imagine this might be a symptom of being under resourced and stressed.

Really love the community events we have - Jess hosted a clothes swap at Cotton Field Wharf where loads of the residents brought together their unwanted clothes, and the turn out was amazing! Came away with some really cute pieces and got to meet some of my fellow neighbours too :)

We live at Cotton Field Wharf of Manchester Life the last 2 years. Overall we are very satisfy with the management of the building as the concierge is always helpful and the common space very clean and tidy. The maintenance team does a fantastic job, too. I would like to thanks Liam from ML as he always responds quickly and effective for all the maintenance matters in our flat. Good work guys!

We have been waiting 12 months for them to replace a fire alarm. Not safe. Our dishwasher also hasn’t worked from the start, the maintenance men who have visited laughed about it and said it’s not their job.

The buildings and apartments they offer are lovely but the service Manchester Life offer as a letting agent is awful. They take money from you at any opportunity they can get, especially when you're moving out. We cleaned our apartment from top to bottom and still had to pay through the nose for a "deep clean". They told us the washing machine wasn't clean enough... Their communication is terrible and they don't offer any advice unless you ask them specifically so be careful when dealing with them.

Absolute utter garbage as a company. On the surface the buildings look nice, and yes, the apartments are lovely inside (although terribly energy inefficient so expect to pay through the nose to still be cold in the winter). However, the communal areas are disgusting (not the front facing areas) but corridors stink and carpets are filthy. I've emailed about issues and they are utterly dismissive and patronising. The concierge are generally great (and I think themselves are victims of McrLife's appalling management). I lived there for a year and they offered me a new tenancy which would increase in cost by 7% for no rhyme or reason. I moved out and left the apartment cleaner than I found it and they charged me a professional cleaning fee 'for the corners of the oven', which I might add had been scrubbed to within an inch of its life. These people are only concerned with making money off of tenants and whilst there's a constant revolving door of people in and out of lettings, they won't change. Avoid!!
