Hi Kayley, Having read your recent review, I am naturally concerned and disappointed with the comments made within. Following a detailed appraisal of your partner’s file, and his subsequent contact via phone with our Maldon branch, it would appear file notes outline a different view to your own in terms of how events unfolded throughout this transaction. When your partner initially called in, we were not in possession of the keys, hence why your viewing was arranged for later in the week. In the meantime, the seller approved details, and we were able to make the property live on the portals which would have been visible for you to see as well as the public. The keys were also delivered to the office the same morning. We then booked in viewings as a result of enquiries received, and an offer was put forward on the basis the property was removed from the market. As we had just started marketing this property, we gave the option to the sellers to continue with viewings already booked in. The sellers deliberated overnight and then called back early the next morning with their decision to accept the offer already put forward, which would have been based on the amount and the purchaser’s buying position. Whilst it is in our interest to put forward any offers to a seller, it is ultimately the seller’s choice when deciding which purchaser to go with. Time is of the essence with any potential purchase, particularly as in this case, when a property proves to be popular. Whilst I appreciate your frustrations, it is unlikely the outcome would have been any different even if all viewings had taken place on the same day, as you were not able to move forward due to the fact your partner’s property was not on the market.
