Worst interaction and customer care I…

Worst interaction and customer care I have ever experienced. I am a new landlord and decided to rent my property out. After a week or so I was told a couple and 1 family member had offered on my property. I was told they were 2 professionals tenants and the third tenant wouldn’t be referenced as she was pregnant and not working. I wanted professional tenants only but the estate agents were well aware I was pregnant myself and I feel they have made up a story based on my circumstances to play on my emotions and heart strings! I accepted the tenants based on the information I was presented. I later found out by the tenants themselves that they had no children and had never been pregnant, this was completely made up. The story I was told was completely fabricated by the estate agent Karun and Harry, they took advantage of me. A few months after the tenants had moved into the property I discovered from my neighbour that 6 people were living in the property and not the initial 3 that I was told. I spent over 20k refurbing my property and it’s very disheartening to know that the people that are renting it out are not the only persons living in it. I booked in an inspection with the tenants directly and I was shocked to see several mattresses in the living room and next to the beds in both bedrooms! There was also a piece of paper sellotaped to my recently new and painted bathroom door which read, rules of the bathroom. It was clear more than 3 persons were living at the property. My neighbours have provided my with cctv from their ring door bell and I’m shocked. The estate agents manage my property however the tenants text and call me when issuesarise sooo what exactly is the management fee that I’m paying for? I have made many complaints about Karun and Harry to the owners of the estate agents, countrywide however these complaints have landed on deaf ears! I have made a complaint about the above because it has and is causing me so much stress… Countrywide who own Bairstow Eves have responded to my complaint saying that the references was a misunderstanding on the estate agents part and apologising… No resolution offered! It wasn’t a misunderstanding, I questioned the referencing multiple times and each time I was assured. The referencing process is very strict with any estate agent so simply saying it was a misunderstanding is a lie! With regards to the extra persons living in my property, Bairstow Eves have said this wasn’t the case at the start of the tenancy. Despite them managing my property, they haven’t offered a resolution or told me what they are going to do to make things right! I have emailed them today informing them the tenants are in breach of their contact and the estate agents are not acting within my best interest! The customer service is awful at this estate agents and they continuously lie anyway they can to agree a deal! They do not take accountability for their mistakes and also have an excuse. There owners countrywide have not been helpful either. I’m currently obtaining legal advice and progressing this!! If you’re looking for an honest estate agent, I would urge you to read my review first!

They do a bare minimum so we ended up without a flat

I would give 0 stars if i could. We dealt with Stratford agency. Let me explain the situation. We found a flat to buy and unfortunately, the agency that published it was Bairstow eves.The first bad sign was that we waited for a man who should've shown us a property for 15 minutes (his name is Vasco Correia, just so you know the heroes by names) and after 3 calls to their call centre we were told to try to call the apartment number as he's already there. We've called a few times - failed. We managed to enter the building and get to the flat after a while. When Vasco opened the door we complained about the situation and that we'd been waiting for 20+ minutes to which he replied "so what? are you going to see the flat or not?". We were pissed with the attitude and the situation but had a look on a flat. We liked the flat so much and decided to make an offer (hadn't trusted our guts, unfortunately).The process took 6 months, each time we had to call them ourselves because otherwise, we didn't receive any updates from them and the seller. Our sales progression was Ellie Lynch (well, I would call her sales REgression). Every time she and her colleagues told us that they were doing their best but if it was true we wouldn't ended up being homeless. We've been telling her that our tenancy contract will end at the end of October since August and she didn't tell us that we should prolong it as the seller is looking for a new home herself and won't move out until she buys it. So we trusted them and ended up without a flat with all our stuff.I hate the day we've decided to proceed with this agency and the flat they listed. Hope everyone who's uncertain to work or not to work with Bairstow eves will choose not to work but to save their mental health and their money.

Amazing service from begining to end. Very professional and kept me updated almost on a daily basis. Despite having 2 buyers pull out on me at the last minute, Amanda worked tirelessly to get other viewings, which resulted in my leasehold property being sold at an amazing price and all in the record time of 6 weeks begining to completion. Definitely find a better estate agent

A few weeks ago I received a telephone call from a young member of staff at Bairstow Eves. He asked me if I was interested in selling my property. I told him no. I had bought it through them funnily enough and had just spent four months renovating it. He suggested I have a valuation despite my saying I didn’t want to sell. Eventually I agreed because I thought it would be good to see what it was worth now it had been renovated. Two text messages and a long and detailed email confirming that the manager was looking forward to meeting me at my property later that week at 12:30. She didn’t turn up and when I telephoned, I was informed that it was a desktop valuation, despite the fact that I had a an email telling me the valuation would be at my property. Having dealt with them when I bought the property and having them not bothering to respond to my email to express my dissatisfaction that they hadn’t bothered to come and do the valuation, I would never ever deal with them again. I think they are a shabby organisation and there are much better estate agents to deal with.

Should you have any jaded preconceptions about Estate Agents leave them at the door when you enter Bairstow Eves Maidstone Office. These guys are true professionals. Stephen, Hannah and Tom, in the order I came to know them during the course of our sale, are truly "the dream team". True professionals from start to finish, they have complimentary skills and work together in a cohesive and proactive way. Buying and Selling houses is a challenging process in England and never more so than during the C19 Pandemic. I truly could not fault the conduct of the Bairstow Eves team. They were "on it" at all times and when things got tough, as they inevitably do in this process, the tough as they say " got going ". I was house hunting over a six month period and Bairstow have been exceptionally helpful over the entire time. Tom was welcoming and professional and the other members of the team; Hannah, Haven & Stephen never failed to return calls or push property that didn't meet my requirements. Circumstances meant I didn't end up buying through Bairstow, but it wasn't through any lack of effort on their part. Promised dedicated member of staff, didn't happen! Complained to Tom Botting, he just passed it onto Head Office, despite being a regional manager and the corporate website informing the branch should attempt a resolution. I paid 1.75% because my property was 'cheap'. Told them to reduce price as too high and no interest, they didn't believe so. Eventually taken down by 5 thousand, sold in a week. Sales progressor only works Monday-Thursday, promises to update you every week, but if not, the next week... I had to chase. She was then removed from my case to be handled by Hannah, who then went on holiday the next day. Couldn't update me on the latest despite me knowing the buyer was using their in-house conveyancing team. I've read a previous response from Scott saying to a reviewer 'sorry you felt the need to post this' sorry, do you only want glowing reviews, Scott? Do you not like when people say a bad word! Or, do people deserve honest reviews from people that paid you a higher % than others? No communication in branch, had to inform 3 different people of the same information on various occasions multiple times. Every form or request was full-filled by me within 2 hours. Took them 28 hours to respond to 3 emails in regards to solicitor chasing for them to pass on information regarding completion. Never took on board my wish for completion date despite bringing them the property! Uploaded pictures without my approval... only Hannah was helpful throughout, however as clearly documented all staff emails became rather blunt after complaint was raised. Complained and got the generic response, they must assume most people just give up on, however raised my complaint with TPO, they've reviewed my application and are now doing a full investigation... which they wouldn't just do for a laugh would they! I'm not hiding behind some obscure name or wishy washy review, terrible service given by people that seem to think they are better than you! Estate Agents have always had a reputation of being... well... not bothered about you. They only care if your house costs over £350,000 because then it makes the commission that little more worthwhile. Oh, and if you get we're a proud member of TPO don't see that as anything, only about 30 estate agents in the whole country aren't... and that's because they are super dodgy! It's a shame the by laws exist on Earl Street otherwise we may have had a better establishment take over, maybe a Krispy Kreme would do well!

Very positive experience, bought a house through them which completed in September. Was a more complex purchase than average and took a long time for various reasons throughout a long chain. The team at Bairstow Eves kept on the case for us and went, in our opinion above the call of duty at times and kept us well informed. Lewis in particular (as he was our point of contact) was always very helpful and always got back to us even when there was nothing to tell, but I would rate the team in general as when Lewis was unavailable someone would always help - including the branch manager.

I would strongly discourage anyone from renting student property through Bairstow Eves based on our experience at 14 Devonshire Promenade this year. During the middle of winter, our house was left without heating for three weeks, which is completely unacceptable, especially in freezing conditions. We were initially told we would receive compensation for this, but that promise was later withdrawn without proper explanation.
