TrustpilotSad experience
I am sad to say that although we initially were happy with Jelson over a short period of time we asked for snagging to be completed and this was never fully completed. We had issues with our living room ceiling and it took a lot of discussion just to get this fixed. We then had a gas leak under a brand new gas hob fitted in put new build which was only discovered when a gas smart meter was being fitted. We had to have our gas off in winter while the issue was solved. We then had a malfunctioning ensuite shower door which had to be fixed twice was then replaced and the exact same fault developed but jelson refused to put it right saying that we had to go to the manufacturers of the shower door now to complain. We had a leak in our shower which was going Into the wall and creating a hole where water was building up over time. It was reported during the 2 year warranty period but never fixed asked and chased many times got no response eventually gave up. Then upon complaining as the hole kept returning despite filling it we are told that we left it too long to chase it up and that the period for remedying it has now passed IT WAS REPORTED DURING THE TWO YEAR PERIOD AND CHASED UP!! we are now told sorry not our problem go to the nhbc if your not happy. ON top of all this a window in one bedroom failed after only 3 years and despite rasing it with Jelson that double glazing panels should last way beyond that kind of time frame they fall back on the sorry we only cover for two years! HOW CONVENIENT THAT YOU PRODUCE YOUR OWN WINDOWS. Most window manufacturers cover the glazing panels and seals for a minimum of 5 to 10 years.

TrustpilotEnter its luxury deeper its Hell
We visited the Jelson development as we were keen on a new home, beautiful houses as we entered the estate and nice park. Once we turned right, we thought we had entered the scene of shameless Ombersley drive. Cars parked all over the place, aggressive looking people and stares. Jelson set the scene of entering estate luxury to driving down this street to scene of shameless and most dirtiest street covered with tattoos alcohol and cars every where. Needless to say we turned away from this development and swiftly left. A professional company in the lead up to their show home depicts the council street from hell. I feel for anyone who has paid top dollar to live on this development to be showcased by a street of living Hell!!

TrustpilotI wouldn’t bother looking at any if…
I wouldn’t bother looking at any of their houses; prospective buyers look at another developer. Once Jelson has got your money, the aftercare is poor and they do not care. Our front inside door is seeping wood glue from the door frame and despite being a reported issue before, our 24 month warranty has expired. Yes, 24 months is all Jelson provide for its new windows and doors; great confidence in its products. “Built the right way for over 130 years”, they quote; debateable!

TrustpilotHad problems with the house and I live…
Had problems with the house and I live on a little drive and out the front is a few trees and a green space full of weeds and rubbish. I was told this would be landscaped and they aren't touching it. It disgusting how they can leave that as when I get in and out my car in the summer I get stung by nettles and stand in my in winter. All they care about is making money. I was also told the entrance would be blocked aswell which hasn't been done

TrustpilotI moved into my new build property…
I moved into my new build property (Standard Hill Leicestershire)end of May this year. Sam from the sales office has gone above and beyond on so many occasions ensuring any issues are swiftly resolved. Her communication is 10/10 The first 6 months have been nothing but enjoyable and this reflects on Sam’s reassuring professionalism.

TrustpilotJelsons Homes - excellent service
The service provided by Jelson Homes when purchasing my lovely new home in Deeping St. Nicholas has been amazing, particularly Rachel in their Site Office - very helpful, positive and friendly - thank you so very much.

TrustpilotDisgusting Behaviour: We have experienced nothing but stress
We have experienced nothing but stress, damage, lies and complete lack of responsibility from Jelson Homes. On 15th May, when Drainage 2000 were hired to jet the drains on our road, sewage water and used toilet paper burst from all three of our toilets, flooding our home with waste water. This is not the first time, it’s happened multiple times since we moved in, and always to our property.

TrustpilotWe are so disappointed with our Jelson…
We are so disappointed with our Jelson home, and would want to warn people, so they don't experience what we did. It is the first time we have bought a new build, are our expectation where high. We have always lived in older properties, and though in retirement a new build would save alot of maintanence expected with a properties age. However, it has been a nightmare since we moved in 19 months ago. The company do not care about its homeowners, and just about the turnover. We have many snags, and still chasing, so major and some just bad and shoddy workmanship. They really don't care at all about the way their actions impact on the health and well being of their customers. I would never ever buy from them again, and I would strongly recommend people doing the same. The company has changed over the years, and the current level of service, design and quality is very low.

TrustpilotOmbersley Ghetto
Went to visit local builders in Nuneaton, friends of ours have a jelson home recommended we visited a new development. When entering the estate it was like a scene from shameless, rough, cars parked all over the place and people drinking cans and estate for a new estate looking very unkept. Reminded of camp hill in Nuneaton, do your checks on this estate as very rough looking and unkept and very intimidating

TrustpilotIncompetent and unprofessional
Incompetent and unprofessional. 18 months of inadequate customer service for a whole array of different issues. Whether that’s moving in to mould up the walls, completely dead lawn front and rear, head of ‘customer care’ telling us our house doesn’t come with a front door canopy leaving us to prove that it does… the list goes on and on before we even moved in.

TrustpilotOver promise and under deliver
Bought a new Jelson home in Leics. The house itself seems well built and has good solid interior walls (which can be an issue though if you want to hang mirrors or pictures) but the finishings are cheap and poor and we've had more than our fair share of issues. Trying to get Jelson to resolve anything has proved to be a nightmare and the 'customer service' (which they are anything but) team is a joke. You call them to tell them something is wrong, they then tell you they cannot do anything unless you email first, so you email and wait for ages before calling them again and they then deny receiving any emails. They couldn't be less interested if they tried. The latest issue is the window handles are breaking and we can't open the windows. Three have gone already and a couple more look as though they are about to go. Jelson's response? We are out of our two year guarantee so they won't do anything about it. Who gives a two year guarantee on double glazing??? This is typical of their attitude and, once they have your money, they are done with you and will not help with any issues. I'd seriously think twice about buying from them.

TrustpilotMoved into our new Jelson Home in Long…
Moved into our new Jelson Home in Long Buckby back in 2018. It is a huge plot with top end interior finishes. The quality of the build and in particular doors in particular really makes the house feel executive. It's unusual these days to have solid internal walls rather than plasterboard partitions so this adds a robust feel. Initially we had a couple of minor issues but Jelson quickly replaced the toilet pan, a couple of kitchen cupboards and some glazing. Brilliant family home which I'm really happy with.

TrustpilotAwful service so far
Awful service so far! Their sales are the worst by far I have ever encountered! Reserved a home and wasn’t given the correct information. We haven’t completed yet. Asked to raise a complaint and sales couldn’t give a toss! We will just cancel our reservation if we have to! Poor attitude

TrustpilotMy advice DON'T BUY FROM JELSON!
My advice DON'T BUY FROM JELSON!If something is wrong with your Jelson home, like a leaky roof on a house built in 2016. Good luck getting anything out of them. Pretty sure a roof should be good for more than 4 years right?More problems now nearly 6 years old... the rendering is so poorly thought through that water gets behind it and freezes causing huge unsightly crack down the side of the house. The customer care for this company deny any responsibility for their poorly designed cheaply built properties and unless your house is going to collapse they don't wanna know.

TrustpilotI would buy again.
Bought from new in 2016 at the Peterborough Showground.Pros: Very good quality structure (solid brick walls etc)Flexible with deposit payment (FTB)Carpets and lawns throughoutLots of green spaceSnagging list small and rectified quickly.Cons:Having lived in the house for 6 years, a couple of cheap elements are now visible (plumbing issues, delamination of kitchen cupboards)Customer service at head office could be much better.Limited upgrade choice for interiors at purchase.Overall, I wouldn't hesitate to buy another Jelson house. I don't really like new builds in general but if I was to move to another, I would certainly look at Jelson first.

TrustpilotJelson’s management company Warwick Estates are awful
Jelson’s use a management company called Warwick Estates. This company are unscrupulous in their approach, their behaviour is threatening, they do not respond for months, charge for work that is incomplete or not done at all. The worst is the more of you on your development that complain, the bigger bully they become. Threatening with bailiffs to reduce the number of households that will fight them.Jelson’s won’t do anything about it either. They are silent and take no action.I would suggest you are better off paying a bit more for a new home in the short term and not buying a house from Jelson’s whilst they continue to use Warwick Estates as their management company. The value you think you have got very quickly disappears

TrustpilotStay away from Jelson homes if…
Stay away from Jelson homes if possible. Jelson homes are really good value for money, but their sales team are really poor. My reasoning for this is I am buying a new build which will be ready in December 2021. Jelson Homes are strict with their exchange date with no leeway regarding to to the buyers situation. I requested for a 1 month extension to save thousands on a mortgage early repayment fee, but with no empathy or care to their customer who is buying a house from them it was a straight No. For a new build home that hasn’t been built yet you would think if you would like to change a few things e.g sockets or making a hole for a dryer air vent it all seems to much of a big deal to request and No is the answer to most requests. I am still purchasing the new build house as I have agreed to sell my house, but if there were new builds near the location I would cancel my reservation, hence why I say “stay away if possible”!!!

TrustpilotLazy and hidden scam
Do not buy from jelson homes. They are more interested in their workforce finishing the builds of new homes for new buyers, rather than completing a 6 month slag check which should have been done over a year ago for people who have already purchased. no communication to anyone in Broughton Astley from them.Additionally, they outsource a company called Warwick estates to do the maintenance on these sites. This company take your money, threaten people with bailiffs, don't reply to your queries and don't actually do any maintenance leaving the whole estate in Broughton Astley feeling robbed, not listened to and scammed. I have no option to pay these unregulated theives which jelson employ. Jelson do not care and are happy to have these cowboys taking our money and not do any work for it. It's outrageous that your first bought home that should be the most wonderful feeling and has actually turned into a nightmare. There will be a banner outside my home to try and persuade new potential buyers to not bother. And I will be at the sales offices telling people about it when they come for their scheduled appointments to look at the buildings. STAY AWAY FROM JELSON HOMES.

TrustpilotAwful experience
Awful experience. Once you’ve bought the house, there is no support for the long list of issues happening. We logged complaints straight away that still haven’t been resolved years on. Would never buy another Jelson home.
