Terrence represented the sellers of the property we purchased at the top of the chain in a chain of 5 properties. Without Terence this chain would have collapsed and none of the sales would have gone through. He ended up doing the work of all the other agents all the way down the chain dealing with many blockers that caused delays due to others not fulfilling their obligations. He dealt with legal representatives from the top to the bottom of the chain, undertook due-diligence others failed to undertake, he even helped with homes England for help to buy repayments and management companies on new build developments. Note he wasn’t paid for any of this, this represents the person he is, passionate, determined to do his clients right, he didn’t represent us, we never paid for his services, however he well and truly went above and beyond the call of duty to help his clients, ourselves and put momentum into the chain. Unfortunately, there are a lot of agents who will offer to sell you house, lots of houses sell themselves, but the after sales (post offer) just isn’t there (most of them sub it out to third parties we have learnt), given the length of time this can take why wouldn’t you want the best person in your court to do this for you and that is Terrence, he does everything himself. I will only ever use Terrence when we move again, I will only recommend Terrence and the crazy thing, his fees are the same as the rest of the high street names. Thank you so much, you have made our family so happy!

I have experienced Strickland both as a buyer and a seller and have only good things to say about them on both sides of the transaction. Jamie Crowder brought a wealth of knowledge and expertise to a long and bumpy sale, and was unfailingly proactive, patient, pleasant and positive. There were various conveyancing hurdles to overcome; Jamie was across the detail and liaised with solicitors to keep things moving. He put me in touch with a reliable handyman and cleaner, found my buyers a brilliantly efficient conveyancer when their own let them down, and was generally an ally, advisor and sanity-restorer through a stressful nine months. Strickland’s commission was comparable to other quality agents in the area and they deserved every penny for the price achieved and the personal service I doubt I would have got with a bigger or online agent. I had grown cynical about estate agents before working with Strickland, but my faith has been restored.

We recently purchased our first house with Strickland as the agents and we are so very grateful that the sellers chose them. Terence and Jamie made the process so so much less stressful than I thought it would be. Terence was available to answer questions at anytime (not sure if he ever sleeps), kept us updated at all times and has great rapport with all involved (solicitors, brokers etc.). This meant the whole process moved at lightening speed - we never envisioned that we would be in the house in November after going to view it in September. They were especially amazing when we had issues with the original lender undervaluing the property and our original broker advising that there was nothing we could do. Terence immediately picked up that something was off here and launched into investigation mode (whilst calmly handling my tears down the phone) and put us in touch with his broker, Darren, who worked late into night for us and within a couple of days secured us offers with two other lenders. The brothers have clearly built up a network of trusted contacts and know the market, the area and who to trust. If we ever come to sell, we will be reaching out to them first. 10/10.

We have had the best experience with Strickland… Terence and Jamie give a truly bespoke service and have your best interests at heart throughout which we know can’t be said of all estate agents. From start to finish, the journey in selling our flat was smooth and pretty painless. Not only did Strickland market our property beautifully with well chosen aesthetic values and eye-catching marketing but you always had the sense that they were in it for the long haul whatever might come our way. This resulted in our having several offers of competitive value on the table within a week and then completing within 10 weeks which we never imagined would be possible. Can’t recommend Terence and Jamie highly enough. They provided a truly excellent service when selling out house in Lewisham. They were extremely proactive in getting the property to market and did so with enthusiasm, dedication and utilising their personal knowledge and love of the local area. We chose Terence and Jamie over other agents because we believed that they would put all of their energy and experience into selling our house and they did. They really do provide a personal and highly effective service which just cannot be provided by their main commercial competitors. They priced the sale right which meant the house sold promptly and without any embarrassing reductions. Jamie supported us through the purchase of our first home in Lewisham and we could not have had a better experience. He made the process very smooth and was kind and patient in facilitating communication between us and the sellers. It felt like a very personalised service as Jamie was with us every step of the way, from the house viewing where he spent a lot of time with us chatting about the property and the area, to meeting us at the house with the keys and a bottle of prosecco on completion day! We recently used Jamie and Terence to sell our flat and could not have been happier with the service they provided and more importantly how they performed. It is a tough market to sell a 2 bedroom flat into but Jamie and Terence managed to get us not only several offers but an offer we accepted above asking price. They go the extra mile in terms of getting your property marketable and ready for sale. They also managed the sale/purchase process very efficiently, were on top of all the documents that were required and gave us updates on how our buyer was doing. Their service did not stop at just selling our flat but they gave us great advice on buying a property. Jamie discussed different areas with us and common issues he knew with certain streets. He advised us on market values for houses and also discussed strategy in terms of when to bid and what questions to ask before bidding. They just go above and beyond all others in terms of how they go about their business and have a great balance between ultimate professionals and personal service. In conclusion, they are both top guys, perform excellently and give great advice. If you are reading this, just go with them, they are the best in the market.

We had the misfortunate of working with Terence from Stickland & Co. last year and our experience was not in line with some of the other reviews posted here. Our experience was made up of a last minute cancellation, of a house viewing, by the agent, even though the explanation didn't make sense to us, and this was complemeted with failed promises to follow up with us. As a result we went about writing a review about our experience, which we were swiftly asked to remove, and we obliged, giving them a chance to prove their supposed exceptional service. What then transpired was 1 week to 10 days of constant bombardment and contact from Terence, which although unecessary was at least a change in tone. This then quickly desended into us falling completely off the radar again, regardless of the promises they made. I want to be clear we never expected daily emails or daily follow ups, but a middle ground between that and their alternative which is zero communication is probably the sweet spot. I also acknowledge that as we were a buyer and not a seller they might not have seen the guaranteed revenue from us, if their company didn't manage to acquire our dream home for us. However surely in order to appease your sellers you would want a bigger mix of buyers to suit every need, budget etc... In addition, Terence was made aware that we were considering listing our rental property with them, however as we havent heard from then since that anomalous week of contact, I assume we are simply not worthy customers. The last bit that seemed a little unprofessional, was the attempt to settle us as buyers about how competative the housing market is and that 'we should be so fortunate that our area isnt even as competitive as the area they themselves were currently looking to buy in'. It is really sad to have to write this review, as we were hoping this team was not your average agent. This review wouldn't have been as bad as it is if we weren't asked to take the original one down to give them a chance to prove themselves, only to continue to receive the same consistant treatment.

We recently sold our flat in southeast London through Strickland & Co. Terence and Jamie are very knowledgeable about the local area and property market in Southeast London. They provided a fair evaluation of our 2 bed flat, explained clearly the sale process, the go to market approach and were transparent about the costs. We chose Strickland & Co because we felt that we could trust them with the sale of our flat, they would be able to find us a serious buyer quickly to meet our asking price, and they were always responsive 7 days a week. We also chose Strickland & Co as we felt that as a business, they care and contribute to the local community. They are very supportive of local charities and did not hesitate to sponsor and promote a charity event at our little one’s nursery over the summer. They delivered an amazing personalised service, which we wouldn’t have received from the big corporate agencies. They listened to us, worked around our availability for viewings, and personally helped with setting up our flat to show off the unique selling points during viewings. They worked with all parties, especially the solicitors on both sides and agents through the chain to keep the ball rolling despite all challenges until the completion date. We cannot recommend Strickland & Co enough. They not only safeguarded our interests as vendors, but ensured that the buyer’s interests were taken into account throughout the sale process, so it is a win/win on both sides. A flawless experience - something all estate agents should aspire to! My partner and I were first time buyers and came across this property on RM. I was able to schedule a viewing at 8pm the same day which was great as viewings in normal hours were difficult with our work schedules. Nevertheless, Terence / Stricklands is an enthusiastic, open and trusted duo in the whole process - you know they enjoy finding clients the perfect home. The communication with Terence was fluid and he would respond to my messages/calls almost immediately throughout the process. Terence will ensure things get progressed swiftly so that you can exchange as soon as possible - he will regularly chase all stakeholders on documents etc (including the buyer). The SE area is Terence’s bread and butter, he has good relationships with the residents and valuable knowledge of the area. This has been highly beneficial as he will provide a grounded and honest view. His good relationship with the owners also significantly helped us during negotiations (i.e, post survey, completion dates). What I really appreciated is that he will help do what is genuinely in the best interest of the buyer, throughout the buying process. I couldn’t recommend Terence and his brother enough for a property in the area. They 100% are more personable, honest and clear during the process compared to high street estate agents!

From start to finish, Jamie & Terence have been helpful, informative, always readily available and approachable- they are genuinely nice guys and really know their market. We were hit by Trussonomics and the fall out from that, yet the brothers navigated this with ease and found us a buyer, got us to exchange and ultimate completion- all within 4 months from offer. A local agent with both knowledge and passion for the area.Terence was a constant reassurance throughout what was a challenging sale as was the solicitor he recommended. He went over and above to help as I live a 2.5 hour train journey away, taking meter readings, meeting surveyors and giving access to various people. The service was friendly and professional, but above all extremely honest. Thoroughly recommend Stricklands.
