Thank you for your feedback. We do not accept that EGRE has acted unfairly or improperly in this matter. The deposit dispute is being handled through the Deposit Protection Service (DPS), an independent adjudication process specifically designed to resolve these matters fairly between landlord and tenant. EGRE does not make the final decision and does not financially benefit from any deposit deductions. The deductions submitted relate to the condition of the property at the end of the tenancy and are supported through the evidence provided in the DPS process. As part of that process, both parties may submit relevant documents, quotations, invoices and comments for the adjudicator to review. As the matter remains live, it would not be appropriate to debate the details publicly. We encourage the tenant to submit any evidence directly through the DPS portal so the independent adjudicator can reach a fair decision.

Dear Ankita, We are extremely surprised by this review and, in particular, your decision to publicly describe our business as a “scam.” That allegation is completely false, and your own correspondence with our team directly contradicts the account you have posted here. A member of EGRE contacted you regarding your enquiry for Cairncross House, apologised for the delay in responding and explained that the property was no longer available. YOU replied: “That’s alright.” You then asked whether any of our other three-bedroom properties in Kidbrooke Village remained available. Our colleague responded to that enquiry too and confirmed that unfortunately they did not. It is therefore simply not true to suggest that “no one has the decency to even call me back,” nor is there any reasonable basis whatsoever for describing EGRE as a “scam.” Properties being advertised and subsequently becoming unavailable is an entirely normal occurrence in the London lettings market. Availability can change very quickly, particularly where several applicants are pursuing the same properties. An unavailable property does not make an estate agency fraudulent. We readily accept that our initial response to you was slower than it should have been, and our colleague apologised for precisely that. What we do not accept is a serious public allegation of dishonesty against our company when the documented correspondence demonstrates otherwise. We retain the complete record of the conversation referred to above and have reported this review to Google accordingly. We welcome criticism when it is fair and accurate. This allegation is neither.
