If you are a University of Birmingham Student, please do not go with Easy Lettings. I'll tell you why. For my second year at university, me and my friends had decided to rent an accommodation on Dawlish Road. After staying there for only 3 months, we were told that we had to move out as the landlord wanted to do refurbishments to the property. This was in the middle of exam season. I wanted to rebel completely against this, but my flatmates reluctantly agreed to their terms. We felt rushed out of this accommodation and the moving crew that made sure we were out, were rude. Upon entering the new accommodation, we quickly realised that the place did not have the infrastructure to support students. Some of the sinks leaked and not all the showers were functional. Furthermore, the 'landlord' and 'construction crew' entered the property whenever they wanted to, without giving 24 hours notice. We hired a wifi engineer from virgin to setup wifi in our accom, however we were told that we didn't have a broadband cable running through the house and that this would take some time to set up. During this time, some of us had to rely on buying data packages or buying train tickets and temporarily going back home, in order to complete assignments and revise. There was such a lack of communication from Easy Lettings during this time. They later said that this was because of personal reasons, however as a student letting agency, the least you can do is acknowledge emails. By going into their offices, we were eventually able to get a verbal and written agreement from them to cover data charges and virgin media bills. However, to this day we have not received reimbursement. In short, Easy Lettings showed a lack of accountability, support, communication and overall customer service. I would recommend a private accommodation to save you the stress.
