On the market for 2 years, 8 viewings

On the market for 2 years, 8 viewings, little feedback or thoughts about what might be preventing more interest. We asked for new details, we suggested dropping the price, we drove all the thought on how to get things moving. Viewings were often at short notice, unqualified leads either not looking in the area or hadnt an interest in our property but had been convinced to view it. Rarely anyone available to do the viewings so we had to - not ideal. When someone was available, they knew nothing of the area, property etc. Useless. When we finally left them, all they were interested in was the £300 to cover the photo/energy costs. You'll be hard pushed to find an estate agent less interested in finding the right buyer, openly saying beyond putting it on the Internet, there's little influence they can have. They need to refresh their understanding of what sales is. They act more like a checkout assistant than an estate agent. Seller beware dont even bother.....

Poor estate agent

We have experienced extremely long delays and very poor communication throughout this process. We have been waiting since 6 October to complete on our house, with little to no meaningful progress. We were told that the case had been escalated to a senior case worker, but nothing changed and no improvements were made. Updates were minimal and often required chasing, which added unnecessary stress to an already difficult situation. Based on our experience, I would not recommend this company to anyone.

Emily at Pygott and Crone was incredible with the process of our sale and purchase. Always on hand when I had any queries or worry. It’s been a stressful process as the sale fell through 2 months after offer got accepted , and she managed to find another buyer for our house within a matter of days. She’s friendly, knowledgeable and even offered to go the extra mile and call third parties involved for us to speed the process up. Everyone else in the team who have helped while Emily has been out of office, have also been incredible and really helpful. We would happily use Pygott and Crone again, and definitely worth the extra money compared to other estate agents! We used AJ for our new mortgage and he has also been amazing and so friendly. He had quick responses to any questions I had and he kept us updated throughout. Again, would definitely use the whole team again. Thanks again to everyone involved in our sale and purchase.

What a great review, thank you so much! It's very pleasing to hear that the whole team went above and beyond to exceed your expectations - this is exactly what we try to do. Great to hear that AJ (one of the mortgage advisers based at our Lincoln branch) was so responsive and friendly - we've let him know your feedback. We know buying and selling houses can be stressful, especially when, for whatever reason, a sale falls through. Along with Emily, it sounds like our dedicated sales progressor Alisha also went the extra mile to keep everything on track. We've passed your feedback onto the whole Lincoln team, thanks again

Binac Van Tonder

I dealt with Binac, mortgage advisor. Great communication and nothing was too much trouble. Gave sound advice, very informative about all areas and made me aware of things I wasn’t. Very helpfully through the whole process, not just with the mortgage, and genuinely lovely lady and highly recommend.

Fantastic estate agents, really good service all around, special mention to Josh the financial advisor and Oli in Lincoln branch for making my experience of being a first time buyer as easy as possible with no issues at all, would recommend to anyone looking to buy or sell!

Professional, quick, friendly above 5*

If we could give more than 5* we would! Fabulous service, especially from Jonathan who went above and beyond to enable our sale to go through as smoothly as possible. We had one or two hiccups with our buyers, however Jonathan kept us updated constantly and everything progressed quickly and professionally. Fiona and Lauren were incredible too and always onhand with any queries. We would 100% recommend Pygott and Crone to any of our family and friends looking at selling their property.

Big thanks to Charlotte, Alisha, Emily, Tommy and Daniel for all their help in selling a property for us in Lincoln. We don't live in Lincoln so it was essential to be able to trust the team to look after our property. Their support and excellent comminication skills with everyone involved in the process has made a huge difference. Professional team.

I today tried to obtain a brochure for on of pygott and crones properties I spoke to Charlotte in the Lincoln office and was told I could only have a brochure of I went into their office to pick one up as they wouldn't send one out via the post , so that's a potential sale lost for the price of a stamp , I won't be sellingy house though them if that's how they conduct business and would advise others to steer clear too howuch is a stamp theses days ? Against their huge commission charged ?

We bought our first property

We bought our first property through Pygott&crone and had a very good experience. Communication was good, the agent was professional, and everything went smoothly. When there were some delays with our solicitor, they helped by contacting them and our rental agency for updates. They were helpful and involved throughout the process. We are happy with the service and would recommend them.

I would not recommend Pygott & Crone in Lincoln to sell a property. Keen once approached to value and market the house, it was then a constant battle to be kept up to date with progress of the sale. The app that was supposed to be weekly updated with progress was quite simply not. Staff members were not updated when phoned to assess progress , often citing..'I've only worked here a couple of months and don't know how to access your notes'. When being told that someone would phone me back, I expect them to...obviously not! The firm was employed to work for me, not the other way around, they should note this for other clients that book them. All in all not a positive experience on the whole ( apart from a couple of helpful staff) was not impressed. Considering them not being the best value for commission on the market, I'd certainly advise shopping around for a more reputable Estate Agents.

Super Friendly Lincoln team

I bought from P&C. They were more helpful and more friendly than my own agent I was selling with. I originally spoke with Ollie back in September 25 when I first purchased the property, he explained more to me of the process than my own conveyer and what documents were needed. This was my first time going through this process of selling & buying. The gent who showed me around the property was super too. Whenever I called it was answered, spoke with Alisha, George and others. Their professionalism, knowledge and friendly service really stood out from all the other companies I was dealing with at the time. I couldn’t fault the team or the company at all. If I were to sell a property again I’d choose P&C going forward.

I cant quite believe how difficult it is just get a viewing on a house with this company. It took me 3 phone calls leaving 2 different contact numbers to see if they had availability for us to have a weekend viewing. No call back, I called them, said I would get a call back....no call back. 8 hours after my initial call I spoke to the original lady who said she had emailed me......no email received. Eventually told we could have a viewing in 3 weeks time......I would seriously think about selling your property with these guys. 3 weeks to view a house!!! Bad customer service

So helpful from start to finish. Alisha was particularly helpful in progressing the sale. She was patient when answering my questions and communicated with me frequently to make sure I knew what was happening and what to expect next. This was really appreciated as a first time buyer. Would 100% recommend.

A completely laughable experience from start to finish. We received an email from the branch manager confirming that our offer on a property had been accepted. Naturally, we informed our solicitor and started moving things forward. Then, out of nowhere, Oli called to tell us the offer had never been accepted and that a higher offer had been taken instead, without giving us any opportunity to increase ours. To make matters worse, they then lied to the seller who we have been in contact with - claiming they had never told us our offer was accepted. Unfortunately for them, email trails exist, even if Pygott & Crone don’t seem to understand that. I would strongly advise anyone to avoid this estate agent. They are more than happy to lie to both sides to cover their own mistakes, and the lack of professionalism is staggering.

What can I say about George Reed, absolute pleasure to do business with. The star of the show, I wouldn’t buy a house anywhere else and that’s all because of George!! The best customer service I have ever had, just his nice inviting smile makes you feel happy! If anyone ever needs any help with your next house purchase looks no further than Mr Reed. Will be back next time 100%.

I wasn't going to write a review but…

I wasn't going to write a review but seeing as how they asked me to here goes: I am writing as a seller so this applies to their estate agency business which is separate from their letting business. I have moved a few times this has been the most stressful move of the lot, partly down to P&C and partly down to Stonebow Law, the conveyancers they pushed us towards - probably because they get a pretty big kick back via their legal arm - Pygott and Crone Legal services. Despite paying them over 6 grand they did not attend one single viewing, they only arranged 3. We negotiated with our buyer and got 5k more than P&C had suggested, it was no thanks to them. They charge extra for the media pack - another 300 quid, the guys that did that were exceptional but having paid P&C over 6 grand for virtually nothing you would expect that to be included. A couple of times simple enquiries turned in to shouting matches, it was very unprofessional at times. the only time there was any sense of urgency is when they sent us the final bill within about 5 minutes of exchange of contracts. Another thing that really wound me up was when they found out after the fact that our buyers had visited the property after their initial visit. P&C phoned to ask when it was so they could retrospectively put it in the diary. I got more angry about that than perhaps I should but it was clearly so that in the event of a dispute they could claim that they had done more than they actually had. So at the end of the day they got paid over 6 grand for what totalled no more than a few hours work, we did everything. A truly horrible experience that has left a very bitter taste in the mouth. Things took far too long, I felt every time I contacted them they considered me to be a nuisance. Yes, I am very demanding when I have to work so long to pay them to do so little but I just expect to be treated like a customer - I never really felt that.
